Aurum Food & Wine Ratings and Reviews
BEST MEAL EVER In Steamboat. No kidding. And no, I don't know the owners.
Get the cauliflower...even if you don't like cauliflower....get the brussels...same same, get the salmon...aces top to bottom. Staff, bar kitchen, management all crushed it. Wow...Ive over 100 entries on open table nationwide...nothing close to this. Well done. This really merited a couple Michelins. 10+++. Thanks for a legitimately GREAT meal. One word? Wow.
Food was very tasty...lots of variety...portions were larger than we expected, and we took Home doggy bags
Despite a reservation nobody greeted us when we walked in, so we had to go to the bar to ask for someone to seat us.
When I called to change our reservation time, I got an answering service both times.
Neither my husband nor I were impressed. This restaurant - both the food and the atmosphere seem very dated. I ordered the pork shank and it came with what tasted like a beef gravy made from a box. My husband's risotto was a very small serving and just OK. Even though they were doing 50% off of entrees, it was still not worth the $$$.
We chose Aurum to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with an intimate dinner. Staff was attentive and unfailingly congratulated us on our celebration. The house smoked pork ribs appetizer was spicy (and devoured!). I had the excellent Scottish salmon, while my husband had a surprisingly large, tender grilled pork shank. We finished with coffee and a just-right-sized sticky toffee carrot cake. It was memorable, sitting next to the river and enjoying delicious food while walking down 25-years' worth of memory lane!
As usual, Aurum was terrific for my friends birthday. We were greeted at the door in a friendly manner and Our waiter was also friendly. His service was very good. This restaurant is right on the Yampa River with terrific views and delicious menu. The outdoor dining is also a fun experience.
We are locals and have chosen Aurum numerous times to dine with family and friends. The service is always great and the ambiance is unparalleled. Two of us tried the bison steak on our last visit and unfortunately we were both very disappointed with it - hence the lower rating on the food. There was too much sweet glaze - only needed if you don't have a good steak in the first place. And there was too much fat and gristle which amounted to about a third of the steak.
Decided to eat here based on Open Table rating while visiting Steamboat Springs on a hiking vacation. My OT profile indicates I am vegan. While the menu offered very few seemingly adaptable options for me, our waiter had already conferred with the chef prior to our arrival and they offered to make me a special off menu vegan meal. The presentation and food were amazing and delicious. And our server was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Loved the beautiful table overlooking the river. The live music (on Sat. night) was terrific. We had some tasty cocktails.
The cauliflower (small plate) was excellent. The crab cakes were a bit mushy (another small plate). The salmon (main course) was terrific.
Overall, we really liked this place!
The restaurant was exceptional! We mentioned it was our anniversary and were treated to two glasses of champagne. The bartender was excellent, preparing our drinks perfectly. We enjoyed the warm summer evening on patio with live music from artist Kelly Kern. The tempo of the music and the sound of the river were perfect accompaniments to this exquisite dinner. It was not inexpensive, but absolutely worth every penny.
Way over priced! Example: two Caesar salads, appetizer of ribs, salmon entree and one beer. All for $80! You make the call!
Terrible menu and the appetizer of ribs had a seasoning that made them not worth eating!
Many better options in Steamboat. Ore House was fantastic!
Ate there for lunch on a beautiful summer day so we sat outside. Had a great table looking over the Yampa River. Menu was rather limited, so I wasn't all that excited about what I ordered, the fish tacos way exceeded my expectations. Would love to try the place for dinner sometime
We totally LOVED Aurum. In fact, we went there twice during our short stay in Steamboat. The first evening was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the terrace. On the rainy second evening, we were in the elegant dining room with a beautiful view of the Yampa River. The happy hour menu is fantastic (don't miss the ribs or brussels sprouts!), and it is great that you can reserve for happy hour and sit in the dining room. This is definitely a place to write home about! Only thing that disturbed the atmosphere was a table of overloud tourists and a very noisy toddler. The servers and staff are superb!
