We enjoyed our dinner very much. A beautiful space with excellent service. The seared cauliflower appetizer was amazing! The elk shoulder (they were out of the filet) was not perfect, as the boneskin was left on, and their steak knives were not serrated! Makes it hard to carve your own meat without a carving knife. Still, I highly recommend for a beautiful romantic meal in a wonderful setting.
Service was slow. We arrived for our reservation about 30 minutes early. Even though there were empty tables we did get seated until our reservation time. Waitress was very slow and inattentive. She only had 3 tables but appeared to be in the weeds the entire time. It's was incredibly noisey. Could barely hear the conversation at the table. On the high side, the entrees were very tasty. Entertainment was also very good. Watch out for the uncharge for ice. $2.50 for a large rock ice cube as opposed to the "bar ice". Over all, with the number resturants in the area, I doubt we will go back
Great menu and view of the slopes in dining area. Bar has live music and a fun, energetic environment for more casual dining.
perfect Steamboat family meal. The 'cauliflower' and 'duck wing' appetizers were a hit. I ordered the rainbow trout for my main course and really liked the meal. Our family was very pleased with this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good experience in Steamboat Springs, CO!
This place was highly recommended to us and the food and ambiance was great but the service was lacking to say the least and that distracted from the overall experience. I would probably go back but for happy hour and sit in the bar.
Incredible food from the appetizers to dessert. Would definitely go back.
Wonderful happy hour , delicious cocktails, and great food. Overall a very nice atmosphere
Nice setting with the Yampa river drifting by and beautiful views (including of Howelson Hill ski jumps). Understated and lovely decor accented delicious and beautifully presented food. Crispy brussel sprouts in balsamic and curried cauliflower were great starters. Group ate a range of food, from beet salad (which got raves) and crab cakes, burger (good but not remarkable), elk (outstanding), and duck (delicious and cooked perfectly). The dessert biscotti with vanilla and chocolate dipping sauces got the thumbs up from a chocolate and dessert connoisseur. Lovely evening with the best dinner we had in Steamboat.
This is a fun restaurant in Steamboat for both the ambiance & super service!
Vacation. Very enjoyable although I would have liked a few seafood choices for dinner. Although my dinner was quite good
Excellent location downtown on the river. Lovely setting, and would be divine during the warm weather.
We caught the end of happy hour which made it more economical. Crispy duck wings were delicious and fun to try something different from chicken wings. The other appetizer was ribs and was also delicious with a nice amount of spice. The waiter was attentive and sommelier knew her wines and we got a nice bottle for a reasonable price.
Wide variety of outstanding light dinner and regular dinners choices. Our party of eight all had a different meal and everyone loved their food!
Unfortunately we were seated next to a very loud large party which detracted from our experience. Food was good. Entrees came out at different times and service seemed rushed
Great place! Sat by the window facing the Yampa river and had a great meal. Met the owner who is very hands on running the restaurant.
Good food, elk was
Excellent food , service and views. A little pricey.
Always good! View is great, outdoor space is nice in warm weather. Service is good, food is great. We eat here every time we're in Steamboat.
Beautiful restaurant!! Was a wonderful experience. I would definitely go back!!
We had another wonderful experience at Aurum. Aurum ranks among some the best restaurants I've in which I've had the pleasure of dining. And when one of out party was not pleased with the braised short rib, the owner was very quick to respond. That was the only hiccup the entire night. Besides, we had salmon, filet, striped bass and crab cakes. Each of those dishes was wonderful
Our 2 servers (Ivan and Lee) were excellent and the riverside location was great. We loved watching the skiers on Howelson Hill. If it wasn’t so cold, we would have loved to enjoy the outdoor fire pit. However, our meals were all meh. (We had strawberry arugula salad, burgers and waygu beef.) And except for the happy hour menu there are no values to be had as there is barely anything under $50 on the menu. We would not return or recommend.
Very nice atmosphere; upscale menu selections, pleasant wait staff.
Food was great
Upon arriving no hostess for quite some time (confusion at the front of the restaurant), hostess was kind but called us by a different party after we had met and continued to tell us the table would be ready, sat at table 15-20 minutes late for our reservation, waitress did not bring bread to table until we asked multiple times, bread came with the meal, dinner was expensive and food was average, our appetizers were totally forgot until we reminded them during the middle of our dinner, the wine was poured into a decanter but never poured into the glasses...overall poor service (nice people but not at all on their game) and food certainly not commiserate with the price point. Very disappointed given the feedback I heard...hope it was just an off night.
A very good meal. Not to heavy, balanced but with some unusual combinations like the elk with Stilton, greens and blackberries. The dessert was disappointing: a soupy chocolate mousse.
Excellent. Service, scenic, great food. Prices a bit high but not ridiculous.
Outstanding food and cocktails beautifully served. Creative and delicious!
Food this time was not as good as we have had in the past. My nachos were unflavorful, and had few ingredients compared to most. The duck breast was dry and fatty. The beet salad was fairly good, but could have been better with fewer greens and more beets.
We'll try Aurum again sometime and hope for a better experience.
We've been to Aurum a couple times this winter season and have had terrific experiences. Service, food, ambiance all make for a lovely evening. It was particularly great seeing the fireworks from our table during Winter Carnival. A must try for foodies and diners who enjoy fine dining with service that appreciates your patronage.
We went here for our Anniversary dinner. This place is great! The food was perfect and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The fire work show across the river added a lot of fun to the evening. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Very happy we went!
Amazing food! Expensive but very normal for the area and quality. I only gave 4 stars because dinner for two was $150 with one drink each and an app. Again not too bad for the area but a little pricey. They were nice enough to also get us in early since we got into town sooner than anticipated. Not a very good beer selection but the wine I had was good.
Wonderful wait staff and great bartender (Cesar). The place is great. The soup of the day was a winner, however our Tomahawk cut was a bit challenging on the teeth, and those who ordered the duck found it similarly challenging. Otherwise good times.
An excellent dinner with a view of the Howelson Hill slope and jump. Service and dinner were superb. We enjoyed it so much that we came back and ate in the bar the next evening. Highly recommended.
Second night in Steamboat, second exemplary dining experience! Dinner started for me with another craft cocktail, this one featuring a boutique rye and blood orange juice. They had a sensational salmon bisque soup starter as a special tonight - not to be missed and then I had their grilled duck breast that was picture perfect (although I don't really take pictures of my food). Other items at our table included an arugula & strawberry salad and the crab cakes - high ratings for these as well. Great atmosphere, beautiful understated dining room with river view, and service was attentive and first rate. Desserts sounded incredible, but again just no room left for another bite!
A nice surprise. I had the Short Rib and my wife had the Elk both were amazing dishes. We had an appetizer that was amazing as well , but couldn't try to spell it. The view of the ski hill, the river, and the train that came by was all fun to watch. We would definitely come back next time we are in town. One of the better restartable in town by far.
After a fun day of skiing, we found the Autumn a perfect way to enjoy the evening. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and fun. We would definitely return.
We first came to Aurum in March of 2017 during a ski trip and also my birthday weekend. The cuisine is creative and excellent quality and taste. We planned a ski trip which was last weekend, and made sure to book Aurum again. The staff is very courteous and friendly, and the food is excellent. My Elk filet was so tender, and my wife’s seared Ahi was delicious. Get the shrimp Bruschetta for an app!
Had the Tomahawk ribeye, it was excellent. It would have been enough food for 4 plus appetizers.
Appetizers, Brussel Sprouts and Ribs on the happy hour menu were also incredible. They have have a very good wine list.
Excellent service, delicious food, we had the Short Rib and Elk, they were delicious. The host, Fred, was excellent in getting us seated at an excellent table. Get s seat by the window and enjoy the view!
We had a great meal great service. and the location is awesome. Fun time. My salmon was prepared perfectly.
