Beautifully prepared and expertly presented. Unique flavors by the chef and team gave us a wonderful dining experience.
I had the himachi which was not as described and very fishy. Plus it did not taste or look fresh. The beet arugula salad was just ok nothing special and too heavy on dressing. Same scenario with the trout. It was odd that the fish was cut into 4 pieces and when reading the dish on the menu I expected it to be served as a filet of fish would be as this is the only way I’ve ever seen it served.
We visited Aurum for the first time. They had all entree’s half off! Oh my goodness. The lamb shank was to die for and the filets were equally delicious. A wonderful bottle of wine and dessert...we were in heaven!
Great servers, great food, great price!
Aurum continues to evolve. We had not been in since last spring..so new menu and some favorite menu items gone!.. & prices higher.Salads were excellent but my Lamb entree was a bit contrived with odd seasoning blend. Server was excellent and host very attentive. We’ll go back when in town again. ..maybe it was an off nite in the kitchen?
My wife and I visited Steamboat Springs to celebrate our 45th Anniversary and Aurum made it very special. The dinner was outstanding.
All 8 diners were very pleased
Had the lamb shank. It was excellent.
It was Restaurant Week in Steamboat so this visit to Aurum was an amazing deal, as entres were half price. The food is inventive without being off-the-wall. In particular, the appetizer duck wings are the best I've ever had, and I LOVE duck. I chose the beef tenderloin dinner, with smashed potatoes, asparagus and mushroom-short ribs ragu. I wanted to lick the plate clean. I also tasted my husband's beet-quinoa cakes, where he added trout, and the flavor was superb. For a wonderful meal, visit Aurum NOW.
Great patio ambiance. Food a bit pricy but good!
Well, I guess this place has a pros and cons list for me. Pros - location - we had a beautiful table right on the river, they had a lovely band playing, and our waiter was attentive. Cons - the food - received a batch of uncooked crab cakes. They were raw basically not under cooked. The waiter took them back and brought us new ones that were OK. Our filet was cooked to order but the plate was a mess and the sides were awful. We had over cooked mushy vegetables and a weird potato with no flavor. Just odd really.
The drinks were good and they have a decent wine list. They just need a new head chef or something.
Enjoyed the evening sitting outside
All 4 of us had salads & small plates
Definitely will return on our next visit
to Steamboat, Co. Disappointed in the
Breckenridge, Co restaurant....called 3
times & left message requesting reservations. No return call.
Excellent food and service and ambiance was just perfect casual yet elegant.
Delicious and inventive food in a subdued environment with perfect service.
Love Aurum Happy Hour!!! Great food! Love being outside on the river!!
I don't usually like to give negative reviews, but I must admit that overall I was disappointed at Aurum. I had heard and read many great things about the restaurant and we were very excited to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday.
There were a few great highlights with the food. The soup of the day, a creamy tomato and red pepper bisque, was fabulous and my younger sister's steak was wonderful as well. The cherry and blueberry cobbler was also extremely delicious. My daughter's halibut was delicious but the southern succotash was not a pleasant accompaniment to it. My older sister and her husband ordered the small plate crab cake and filet to split but the crab cakes were extremely small for the price ($18 for 2 quarter sized crab cakes) and their filet was overcooked.
The service was mediocre as well. It seemed like the idea was for the servers delivering the food to know which plate belonged where, but none of them actually did, which made for an interesting game of musical plates. This seemed fine for the salads, but this happened again with the main dishes. When they arrived with my sister's filet, my daughter mentioned it belonged to her but they still placed it in front of my daughter who then had to pass the very warm plate to my sister. It seemed a rather bizarre way to serve dishes. Additionally, the crab cakes and the halibut were about 4 minutes behind everything else.
We had also mentioned it was for a special occasion, but it didn't seem like the server had been informed. We had to follow up with her about the birthday and see if there was anything specific they did for special occasions.
Overall, it we had a wonderful time with the family and the food was alright, but for the price I just don't think I can recommend it or return again.
Busy ...fabulous dining experience ! Lovely spot outside by the river with a fire pit area for relaxing before or after your meal. Great food and great wine list ...
Rude, pretentious, snobby! Not much more to say. Good luck if you decide to go!
Food was delectable. It's a seasonal menu, but the tomato bisque was amazing. Try it if you have the chance.
We were seated at an outside table overlooking the river with the mountain/ski trails, ski jumps, etc in front of us. Beautiful setting. We ordered the pea risotta dish. My wife added the lamb chops and i added the filet. Food was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed it tremendously. The only wrinkle in perfection were the lamb chops. Only got two small chops for the additional price of about $25. I received a reasonable portion of the filet. The blueberry indian pudding was very good, especially as it didn't excite my wife's palate so I got to eat most of it. Alex was an excellent waiter and very personable. Special thanks to the Host who seated us at the "waterfront" table.
Rack of lamb had very little meat. They comped us for it, but it was disappointing.
We had a lovely meal at Aurum. Our server was attentive, the food was delicious and the view is great, right on the river. Highly recommend!
Although we had made a reservation, it took about 15 minutes to seat us, but we were rewarded with a lovely creekside view. (Warm weather option would be to sit outside on a nice creek view patio with fire pits.) Service was good without the staff hovering over us. Every dish we ordered was delicious and nicely presented and the cocktails were unique and yummy!
Delicious food for a special occasion! Wait staff was knowledgeable and provided exceptional service.
Great drinks, wonderful service and large portions. The English Pea and Mint Risotto was wonderful. Family had a wonderful evening.
Great time! Food and service exceptional
Exceptional dining experience! Excellent Cocktails and lump crab cakes and scallops were perfectly prepared. Beautifully presented. Service was prompt. Friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. Would love the opportunity to return and try many other menu offerings
Our waiter was excellent and food as well.
Sitting on the patio overlooking the Yampa River is beautiful. Our server was excellent and made sure that we were satisfied with our meal. I had the filet with risotto. The filet was done to perfection and the risotto was a nice change from a baked potato. Aurum is one of my favorites for happy hour as well.
The service was great (Rita), the food was good, and we had a nice table next to the Yampa River. The inside bar while we waited for our table was hugely noisy and even the nice sitting outside was a little noisy with people trying to talk over the singer/guitar player. We were looking for a relatively nice quiet dinner but that wasn't the case although again the food and service was great. And it was also a little pricy but we expected that.
Service and drinks are always fantastic, as is the outdoor patio. The food was wonderful with some dishes providing an opportunity to try something new and different. We know that Aurum will not disappoint, which is why we take our clients and visiting friends there.
Wonderful service! Gorgeous view right in the river! And best of all FABULOUS FOOD! My favorite dish is the beef cheeks and scallops. Every bite is delicious!!! Highly recommend!!
Perfection in all aspects! Service could have been trained slightly more professionally for the price point. But nothing blaring to comment on particulars. Would definitely go back. One of the top 10 best salmon dishes I’ve ever experienced, and a lovely outdoor dining experience!
We sat outside and the area for kids was brilliant. This gave young families the opportunity to enjoy their dinner while their kids could play. Our service was excellent too.
A good restaurant. High quality. A bit overpriced. A bill item was called “kitchen appreciation fee “. Eight dollars. I did not contest it because we were with guests. We were the only party in the restaurant and that was a bit uncomfortable.
Hamburgers are fantastic - even if they are over-priced. Salmon and scallops way over-priced and super small portions. Strange prep. Loved the deck.
The happy hour is a great deal, and the outdoor patio overlooking the river is lovely. The food was excellent as was the service!
Really bad server Clhoe. Not attentive. Will not be back.
I very much enjoyed my duck wings and caesar salad. My husband did enjoy his halibut but felt the spicy food that accompanied it overpowered rather than enhanced the taste of the fish.
The patio seating on the river made fir an overall special evening. We would recommend this restaurant.
