Aurora - Williamsburg
Aurora creates a perfect balance of tradition and innovation, with a great respect for seasonality, by combining top quality Italian imports, sustainably grown local produce and house-made specialties.
The wine program offers a list of over 150 labels, along with craft beers, signature cocktails, and a full liquor bar.
The rustic and charming dining room with exposed brick walls and high ceilings, opens to an intimate, leafy garden, enclosed during the colder months, and perfect for a relaxing dinner "al fresco" during the warm season.
Aurora is a great spot for a romantic date, a casual getting together with friends, or private events.
The Valentines Day Menu with pairing wines was both delicious and eye-opening. My wife and I enjoyed the quiet, romantic ambience as well as the caring and quick service. 3rd time there and many more visits to come.
We went here for Valentine’s Day and it was lovely! The ambiance was wonderful and the service was great as well.
It was a great evening however the music was a bit loud
Very good food.
Unfortunately, we had an issue with the service, our main course took 45 min to come out.
The pasta dishes came out on the cool side. Complained to the waiter but nothing was done about it.
We had a great dinner at Aurora. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is unique.
The food was not as good as usual. Service was fair at best
The food was absolutely delicious. We had the burrata appetizer, I had the butter nut squash ravioli and he had the steak. We finished our meal with the tiramisu. It was all absolutely delicious. Our waiter was a female and ended up changing. Antonio finished our dinner service and he was excellent. Definitely recommend to anyone in the Brooklyn area.
Service was great food was amazing look forward to coming back.
Nice ambience - relaxing ; good food ; perfect for get together with family and/ or friends
Would definitely come back.
The best ever! Reliably excellent food and service, never disappoints and is always a true pleasure! A true neighborhood gem!
Excellent neighborhood Italian, superb food, especially the pasta!
Great authentic Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. I never tire of going here. Excellent food and wines.
We went to celebrate my mom's birthday, the food is pretty good but the staff seemed to be pretty confused. casual lunch/dinner yes, special occasions definitely NO
We went here for New Year's Eve-- bill with tip was about $360, and one of us wasn't drinking. The restaurant is really lovely and the service was excellent, if not a bit rushed. The food was fine, but honestly, for this price point it should have been excellent. I can't exactly pinpoint what about the food wasn't great-- portions were appropriate, the menu was interesting, and the food was the correct temperature when it arrived, etc., -- on paper, it all seemed fine but we were underwhelmed. It was just kind of meh. I'd go back again probably to try the brunch, but not sure if I'd have dinner there again.
A wonderful relaxed dining experience! It was the perfect way to celebrate Christmas Eve
This is a really excellent restaurant. Very nice and great food but doesn’t take itself too seriously either.
Aurora was very romantic, yet lively. The staff was accommodating and kind when our reservation time fluctuated. I loved the amount of vegetarian options. Everything was tasty.
Great place for if you are looking for a creative but solid Italian restaurant. Food is on point.
Great food and service. Everything was delicious at a reasonable price.
Food was outstanding only matched by perfect service and cozy atmosphere. It’s my Williamsburg go to for sure.
This was an unexpectedly fantastic meal! Aurora has been in its current location for about 20 years and with good reason! A solid complement or dare-I-say substitute to the hustling/bustling Lilia and Misi, Aurora also boasts daily homemade pasta and it is delicious.
- Charred Cauliflour(w/o whipped goatcheese) - Although a little overpriced, absolutely delicious and a solid representation of what was to come. The tomatoes were the unsung hero of the dish sauteed in olive oil
- Squid Ink Pasta - Hands down my favorite part of the meal. It is well worth the price and covered in shrimp and crab meat
- Rigatoni - I thought it was very good. The pasta was the highlight as the sauce was a bit too parmesean-y for my liking. Very good nonetheless
BONUS: The bread was warm, soft and amazing. We had two orders.
Overall, I was very impressed with this meal and will be back!
The atmosphere is quite lovely albeit a bit crowded. The wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable; however, a bit overworked. The food was delicious and presented in a lovely manner. All in all, we had an exceptional evening at Aurora-Williamsburg. We most definitely will return next time we're in the NYC area!
A beautiful location . There aren't that many options in the types of food that you can buy. The food was cooked very well, and the staff was quite friendly as well.
I had the Thanksgiving Prix Fix meal. Service was good. The turkey ordered by my companions was okay. However, I ordered the lobster risotto as well as the scallop appetizer both were disappointing, especially the risotto which perhaps had 3-4 small piece of lobster. I lived in Maine for 15 years and this meal was ridiculous especially for the price. It should have included at least a claw or larger pieces of lobster. I used have to go to Manhattan to get ripped off. Now I can get taken in my own neighborhood. I would hope that the next time this restaurant serves a prix fix that they would serve a meal that the chef would want to make for himself. I have eaten here a few other times and the food was good, this was disappointing and way overpriced for the value.
Loved the Prix Fix for Thanksgiving
One of my go to Williamsburg spots for quality meals and great service. Random date nights where it’s casual to romantic. Definitely can be romantic if you want it to be. Recommend everything on the menu as I’ve been here man6 times. Highly recommend the pannacotta dessert.
Superb food. It is always a pleasure to dine there!
Anniversary.. always amazing food and service. We had gone to a different restaurant over the weekend to celebrate and it was sooo aweful we decided to do a make up celebration dinner here bc it’s one of our favorites and tried and true!
I just love this place - the food, service and atmosphere are delicious, outstanding and rustic, respectively. A little piece of Italy right in Williamsburg.
Delicious food and lovely friendly staff
Repeatedly the best around!
The ambience is very kind...the food is also good
Only inconvenience is noise from the patio side
Worst service ever ! Will never come back AGAIN !
Yesterday was my birthday. We were a table of 7, we are French people and most of them don’t speak English.
The waiter was so rude from the start to the end! His excuse was that we didn’t listen when he was explaining the menu VERY FAST and with NO effort to speak calm in order to understand what he said. One of friend was listening and doing the traduction! So yes it is hard to stay focused on your talking !!!
The waiter don’t pour the wine correctly 2 times! Left dishes and had another attitude with the other table !
My father told the waiter that he can change his job as he is not doing it correctly and with an attitude. He dared to ask my 60 year old dad: « what is he doing in life? ». Well he works more than you do and always with a smile and RESPECT not like you !
As you have to pay à tips when you are more than 7, YOU have to TIPS a person that did the worst service.
At the end the waiter finally excuse to my parents.
It was my birthday and I left with my family without dessert as we were not welcome from the beginning!
I came here 4 times before and have never been treated like this in any restaurant in New York !
The manager tried to take my info but I will never come back here again.
At the end the food was good !
Thank you for ruining my birthday.
No other restaurant in the area can compare. These guys blow the Italian Americans away as well as the other European imports. Much higher quality and value than other Italian in all of North Brooklyn. Much, much more carefully curated wine list with a significantly lower mark up on all bottles than any other restaurant in the greater area. For value it cant be beat. The pastas are delightful-authentic but never to a fault. The staff here is really helpful and hardworking group of people and I've never had a bad dish, ever. If you like medium rare go ahead and order rare because they tend to go a tiny fraction above here. The music is appropriate for the neighborhood which isn't always the case nowadays. The music is cool. So if you hate artists and use the word hipster to describe all the people you are jealous of then maybe you actually won't like the music. But it's just good rock and electronic that isn't too obtrusive or distracting. I've never heard anything bad like Mariah Carey or Ed Sheeran or Kanye or anything too loud or distracting. Never noticed anyone singing through an autotune either!
Food very good / service attitude subpar
The food, service & ambiance were nothing special. The restaurant was so noisy, there was a birthday party right behind our table, it made our experience very unpleasant. I was sorry that we chose Aurora over 2 other recommendations from a friend who lives in the area. The friends we met for brunch traveled from the Woodstock area to meet us that day & I felt badly that with all of the terrific places to eat in Brooklyn, we ended up there.
Incredible food and incredible service.
