The pizza was nowhere near but we expected from an Italian eatery. It honestly tasted like grocery store frozen pizza. The Chicken Marsala was solid, I'd give it 3.5 stars. The table wine, Ruffino Chianti, was overpriced.
Aurora is great ! The food just keeps getting better. Actually their lamb is outstanding
I spend a lot of time in Sausalito but this was first time at this restaurant because it's a little further away from center. I met a girlfriend for dinner here. We were disappointed that the pizza we wanted was not available because they ran out of prosciutto so we got the homemade spinach and cheese ravioli with marinara sauce instead which was very good. We shared the spinach and pear salad to start which had a little too much dressing. We should have asked for dressing on the side. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was amazing, probably one of the best I've ever had. The service was attentive without being overbearing. I will definitely be back!
Comfortable outside seating a bit close to a busy road but better than many in Sausilito establishments. Food was really delicious! Service very good too.
The food, service everything in this local spot was fine. However a young coypii I eveith two children allowed their children to run amok, be very noisy, get underfoot endangering the servers Unfortunately there was little the manager or server could do to rein in the children. The parents were clueless and were being rude and inconsiderate of the other of the other customers.
The scallops were delicious. The arugula salad was perfectly dressed. Easy parking, nice view and lively staff. Wish I’d visited sooner.
The quintessential neighborhood gem. Get the crab ravioli! Amazing.
My family dinner on christmas eve. Staffs were kind and friendly enough. Food was better than expected, especially ribeye steak was fantastic. The mood at the place was good as well. Real Italian in Sausalito.
Aurora is neighborhood favorite! We have our company holiday lunch their every year! Food is good and i love the fact that it is a family owned business like mine!
Nice neighborhood gem. My wife appreciated the gluten free options.
Many restaurants have been in this location in the 25 years we’ve lived in Sausalito, and for some reason all of them have been plagued with poor service. We waited 15-20 minutes for a waiter to come by even with water. Then seven of us had our meals while the 8th person waited another 7-8 minutes, even though she ordered the same pasta dish as the person sitting next to her. The server was very polite, but they can do a much better job with timing.
Good Italian. Wonderful service. Quiet and attractive with tv at bar for sports fans. Homemade pasta done al dente.
Taste and feels like Italy in the middle of Sausalito! Thanks, Ceasar!!
Had a pleasant decor. Pasta dishes and sauces were good. But, wasn't too impressed by the antipasti/pizzas. Pizza seemed very average and sauce didn't taste freshly made.
Nous étions 5, personnel à l’écoute, plats très bon et rapport qualité prix top
Je recommande formèrent mais ne cherchez pas la vue il n’y en a pas
Good food beautifully presented with great service. Nice quiet atmosphere on week nights.
The service here is always outstanding. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for Sausalito. The menu is also available for takeout.
We just moved down tbe street and Aurora is our new favorite local place! Cesar served us and is wonderful. Food is delicious! Will be frequenting as our go-to place!
This is a small neighborhood restaurant that has had several ownerships. The current proprietor has been there for a few years. The restaurant has survived because no other restaurants are in the area. There were a total of four employees working at the restaurant. The service was sporadic due to the inability of the server to adequately oversee the needs of the customers. The cuisine was flavorful, however by the time it was served, it was lukewarm. The restaurant is very noisy and virtually impossible to conduct a conversation. The bartender appeared to be having a bad day. He was very rude to the customers. We will not return to this restaurant. Sausalito has many restaurants that are superior to the Aurora.
Has been several years since dining at Aurora's in Sausalito.
I was pleasantly pleased at how much the 3 of us enjoyed our meals for Mother's Day. Early seating at noon. No crowds, no wait....no loud noise...able to have a conversation. Great service!
Restaurant tucked away up a couple hills. Street parking as well as their own garage. Will definitely return.......cannot go wrong. A NO stress situation.
They always meet our expectations
We had a fabulous meal for 7, truly a gem. Every dish was delicious. Each of us loved our meal. The service was terrific. We were there on Thanksgiving day for a late Italian lunch. The decor was simple and bright, and unassuming. Felt like a cozy neighborhood spot.
Sunday Lunch with friends. Good location (off the tourist path). Seafood Pasta and Seafood Risotto were both delicious, seafood very fresh and both cooked to order. Service was friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back!
Good food but very very slow service
Away from the maddening crowd. Nice experience without the hoards of tourists intervening in the dinning experience. Very friendly service....like in Italy.
We were in Sausalito on vacation. Came across this place by accident while driving around. Food was amazing! Everyone in our party ordered something different, so most of us tried each other’s meals. One person in our group has Celiac and they had a great selection of items for them as well. Would definitely go back!
Food was OK. We had lasagna. At $19.50 that’s a bit overpriced. When I walked in, I said that this was an Open Table reservation. I repeated that when we paid. I called 2 days later to tell them i did not get credit. I checked now and it’s still missing. I don’t have time for this.
Our mother had passed away a week earlier, and we spread her ashes under the Golden Gate. Aurora was the only restaurant willing to accommodate a party of 18. The service was wonderful as was the food.
We had a Mothers Day lunch/dinner for a party of 6. They were a bit short staffed and fairly busy but our waiter was very honest and did a great job of managing our orders! The food was wonderful and we had a great time. Most important was that my wife (the Mother in Mother's Day!) loved it!
We made the reservation thru Open Table and when we came in to the restaurant they did not have it. They were so uncomfortable and it was an unpleasant moment.
This is my favorite go-to restaurant in Sausalito. The manager, Caesar (sp?) always does a great job; he is cordial and helpful and makes us feel very welcome every time I go with friends.
Quiet restaurant, away from the busy downtown Sausalito. We loved our raviolis ( cheese and the chicken one). The two of us who took the pizza round them overbaked. Service was very friendly.
cute place. off the beaten path. popular locals place.
crab cakes were too mushy for me, too much filler
caprese wasn't with heirloom tomatoes and I like more basil -leaves versus sliced up
others had pasta dishes, and looked delish.
desserts were fantastic: chocolate tarte & bread pudding
What a great find, just far enough from the main part of town to be relaxed and far less expensive than he tourist traps. This place has the feel of a neghborhood favorite where most guests are probably regulars. Good food and friendly service. A keeper!
The food and service was perfect. Thanks for the great evening of dining!
Great local spot away from the touristas. Family warm feel.
What a pleasant surprise, the food was fantastic and the view was so nice eating outside and taking in the fresh air, I will come back and try the pasta next time
We've eaten at Aurora quite a few times and have never been disappointed. My only negative comment is wish they would stock up on Beck's non-alcoholic beer. On several dining occasions, they had none.
Awesome menu, awesome cozy spot, awesome service, Awesome flavor!!!!
