The food was amazing, creative and delicious. Service was well informed and pleasant. My only criticism is our table of 3 celebrating a birthday was seated next to a large, noisy party of 10 or more. Fortunately the restaurant wasn’t busy and they accommodated our request to move to a quieter area.
Nice quiet harbor view setting, but limited menu selection!
good food, good service, beef a little overcook, wine taste good and reasonable price, dessert good as well.
I been there many times it a sure thing for a good evening
All around great experience!! Will be back for sure, thanks so much.
Great place for a couple to have dinner. Amazing food
Beautiful ambiance, Seacuterie platter outstanding. Professional and flawless service. Great wine list. We will be back!
Great place to bring your partner. Awesome service.
Professional, knowledgeable, attentive and warm staff.
It was the first night of "Dine Around...", The food was amazing and the service was very personable.
We enjoyed our night very much.
Always perfect, keep up the great work.
Wonderful mature hip ombience.
great food and atmosphere, however our server really made our experience. Amazing service and friendly. unfortunately didn't get her name. Truly enjoyed our anniversary dinner. We will definitely return when in victoria.
Staff were great, the seat was nice and we had a view outside to the water. The kimchi sauce under my pheasant lacked flavour and the bird itself wasn’t special. It was all well cooked but not a mind blowing dish.
Lovely dinner with great wait staff.
The food seriously disappointing. Too many flavours competing. Simplify the tastes.
Excellent food. knowledgeable waitress. superb service
We were married at Laurel Point in 2016 and have been back own a few special dates since. Never ever disappointed!
The atmosphere was the best part of the evening. You can't beat the view of the inner harbor. The decor was modern yet has a warm feel. The service was very good. Dinner was good, but can't rate it as great which is a bit disappointing considering the price point of the meals. I would however go back.
The ambiance was amazing. Service was incredible. And, food was delicious. This spot is a hidden gem for intimate dining.
Unacceptable! Website stated that Sundays are days that a brunch buffet is served! Its only served every first sunday of thr month. Had brunch from the menu, very over-priced and the bacin was burnt! AVOID!
I had been here before and it was the best meal I've had in Victoria, but the restaurant must have changed hands since then. Instead of the simple and spectacular seafood dishes they used to offer (like trout or salmon with crispy skin) the menu was filled with fussy dishes that were hard to understand and looked interesting but are not something I'd come back for. The view here is one of the best in the city, simply stunning.
Very suitable for a business dinner.
The service was excellent. Staff paid particular attention to our dietary requests going the extra mile to ensure if everything met our needs. This was a great experience with a big thanks to all the staff
The seafood trio dish contained 2 scallops, 2 pieces of shrimp and 2 pieces of octopus.
The accompanying vegetables were not well cooked. The shrimp were two small pieces that were overcooked. It was the size of shrimp you may expect to see in a shrimp salad at low end restaurant. The food was served with some portions at room temperature and some cold. the sauce adding nothing. I wish they would focus more on the quality of the food then an artistic presentation. Without question it was the worst meal I had in Victoria. The initial appetizer gift from the kitchen tasted like hot sauce on paper. It was an extremely disappointing night. You are paying for the view eat somewhere else and take a walk around the harbor...better value.
What a wonderful place! Our first time dining at Aura, and it was well worth a visit. Each plate was delightful and unexpected! Service was lovely, menu items were explained while they were being served, and every item was delicious. Cocktails were tasty and inventive.
Our only regret was the early sunset meant less time to enjoy the gorgeous view at dinner- what a beautiful setting! Would love to visit for a sunny Sunday Brunch.
Looking forward to our return. Many thanks.
The decor and the restaurant overall felt pretty dated, although the views of the water are nice. The restaurant is located in a hotel in the harbor. The food is what in my house is deemed “tweezer food” (meaning some of the food is probably plated using tweezers). The food overall was serviceable— nothing really knocked our socks off though. I had the house salad and the halibut in banana leaf w coconut rice cakes. My husband had the “seacuterie” and the pork 2 ways. Everything was pretty good. Definitely imaginative — just not crazy delicious. The service was amiable, although our waiter forgot to bring bread to the table until asked. Overall, we both wish we had tried a different place for our one night in Victoria.
I really wanted to love this place. The food was creative and tasted great, but the menu was a bit hard to decipher. I ordered a tomato soup with grilled cheese, and got a bowl of soup with a small piece of cheese on top. I guess the cheese was grilled but I was expecting a sandwich. I love trying new foods but this menu made me feel ignorant, which immediately put me off. It just wasn't the enjoyable meal I hoped for. Disappointing.
Service and ambiance was good. My wife’s risotto was undercooked, very crunchy, but there was good flavor, and not a lot of selection on the menu.
Fine dining at its best. Creative quisine. Stunning views. Excellent staff. Our server, Colleen was superb. She was a true professionsl and shared excellent tips for our stay in Victoria.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Aura last weekend. Maitre d' Robin and our server Colleen were most welcoming and provided top-notch service throughout the meal. I had noted our anniversary when I made the Open Table reservation and at the end of our meal we were surprised with "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate and accompanied by two exquisite chocolate candies and a flower on the plate. A really special finishing touch to a wonderful evening!
I was their for the sunday buffet brunch. Although it was very expensive (most expensive in Victoria), food was just ok. Not much in the way of selection either. I will definitely not be going back.
Very good, innovative menu. Delicious food served in a modern atmosphere with very appealing view(s). We had dinner and lunch there, would definitely return when in Victoria. It was a little too cold to enjoy the patio while we were there, but it looked like another thing we'd like to try.
Food and service were fabulous. I loved the Vegetarian.
I would not recommend this restaurant, very small portions and way over seasoned. You are better off going do fishermans wharf to eat much fresher food and better portions.
Amazing as always ! One of Victoria’s best restaurants.
Our service was really great and were offered the the happy hour even though we were seated just after 5. The light meals were very delicious and just what we needed. My 10 year old granddaughter was given a complimentary birthday dessert and she was thrilled. The restaurant had a very loud group so the ambiance was ruined for us, as beautiful as the setting it.
Beautiful view. Very good food. Pleasant staff. Enjoyed our night out in Victoria.
I happened to indicate it was our anniversary on the open table reservation and every one of the staff members greeted us with best wishes. It was a lovely experience. The oysters were amazing!
TRuly creative and magnificent food, starting with the breads and ending with dessert. SPectacular!
very limited menu and not that appealing. Hard to find something one wanted. The staff were wonderful and upon exit when we were needing a taxi for a handicapped guests the hotel staff were great.
We will give it another chance mainly because we have been impressed in the past and the friendliness of the staff. But who ever put together the menu should rethink it.
