A visual and sensory feast in Victoria's beautiful Harbour. The Seacuterie plate was gorgeously presented, as was the cheese plate. We appreciated the little attentions, such as a warm blanket, offered to us as the air became chilly. Aura is perfect for pre-show dinners and a pleasant walk from our major attractions. I will be going back many times, with friends, family and for anniversaries. Superb, well-trained and attentive staff made this a warm experience.
Such a relaxing meal in a lovely location. Pleasant service. Delicious food!
Wonderful food - a taste sensation in every bite. Beautiful view.
A very special night for both of us. Thank you for the wonderful service, fabulous food and pleasant atmosphere.
Amazing food and prompt service. Definitely an experience worth having.
Aura's creative, delicious cuisine, attentive service, and gorgeous harbor view make for a first-class experience. The bruleed foie gras, watermelon salad, and duck and pork presentations were as beautiful and innovative as they were tasty. We even received our dessert, "The Bar", on a plate inscribed with chocolate to commemorate our wedding anniversary. It was truly a memorable night!
Waitress was cold as ice and almost ruined the evening until the maitredee stepped in and professionally addressed the concerns.
We are visiting Victoria a couple of times a year to enjoy a "dining" experience and enjoy the city itself. This weekend we went to AURA (we found it via online reviews including Yelp) and booked via open table. The meal was wonderful. I had what was probably one of the nicest steaks that I have ever had and my partner enjoyed his duck. I had a delicious salad to start and he had a fried dish (cannot remember what it was called but he stated it was sublime)!! Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic harbor view patio restaurant with gourmet food. So relaxing to enjoy the lovely summer evening. A treat to have delicious beverage and food choices. All items on plate were described to you when they arrived. We enjoyed salad, salmon and halibut. A little disappointed in the 1/2 dozen oysters; very small and flavorless, unfortunately. Staff were attentive and so thoughtful to offer a “blanket “ as evening became a little chilly. Looking forward to a return visit.
It’s all about the food. Excellently prepared, the portions were just right and delicious. Quiet so you could actually hear yourself think and carry on a conversation. Recommended.
Stayed at Inn at Laurel Point for 2 nights and ate here twice for dinner. After staying at the Fairmont hotels for most of our month long trip and eating in their restaurants, Aura beat them hands down. The presentation and taste was exceptional. What a talented chef and pastry chef, an absolute delight to have enjoyed your creativity , would highly recommend
Everything was great for an evening with friends. Server a bit inexperienced.
Alles bestens, leider etwas kalt im Restaurant. Sehr gutes Essen
Food and drinks were ok as was the service was ok. The view is the reason to go!
I had a wonderful time with the girlfriend. I wanted to take her somewhere nice for a change. One look at the menu online and I was sold! Great location and nice service. Would go again in a heartbeat
We have been here for lunch a couple of times, so decided to try it for dinner, and enjoyed it very much. However, some of the dishes were too pricey (in our view) for what they were.
We did not like the mixed green salad because it had soya sauce in the dressing; too strong in a salad. In our main dishes, there should have been more veggies to give a better balance between the meat/fish and other ingredients.
Below, we do not know what you mean by "authentic"; authentic what? And what on earth is Paleo-friendly?
My family went for a special occasion and got a great table on the patio. The heater and blankets were welcome but not needed as it was a warm night. The others in our group had great meals and the wine selection was very good. I am vegan and there was no options for me but I altered the vegetarian options. It would have been nice to have more selection as there was only one choice. In retrospect I should have asked if the chef would create something for me as I read he is very accomplished. I might ask for that next time!
As always the view was exceptional. Aura's servers are knowledgeable and attentive, as well as sensitive to our desired pacing. The wine list is thoughtful and features a fine range of British Columbia wines. The menu had a good range of creative offerings. Usually the food lives up to the rest of the experience but on this last visit it just didn't reach the expected excellence. I am sure this was just an off night in the kitchen, so this one slip won't keep me from coming back.
Nicely presented but nothing outstanding, not a meal to take your family to after all day of activities.
You will leave hungry!
Food was very good. A bit pricey but good. Table service was excellent. Hostess was not so good. Booked the table the day before. Gave her my name and she immediately said "well, you just booked this today, so this is the only table I have for you..." which was around the corner and I was fine with actually, after correcting her and telling her I had booked it the the day before. Not a great way to greet any guest who is about to plonk down $350 for dinner. Not a warm or professional greeting at all. That being said 2 of the table windows sat empty for our entire meal. As for the ambience...the restaurant looks tired and a bit dirty & shabby as does the hotel entrance off the back. For the prices you are charging put some money into it. On another note...we live locally!! Have a bit of initiative and maybe realize that it's just not the "tourists" who pay your bills. This attitude may have something to do with the ownership. I am thinking the restaurant is owned separately from the Hotel.
Wonderful oysters creative way of serving them Salad very fresh and House dressing had just the right amount of spices ! Great outdoor seating
Overrated. This is a second time that I've gone to the Aura Restaurant with young friends.
Service is snobby and pretentious and not friendly and accepting of young arts people and those with disabilities.
Exceptional experience all around. Good service exceptionally fine Food lovely view Delightful ambience.
Excellent service and great food. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful view while enjoying our dinner.
Wow!! Aura is fabulous and one of the best dinners we've ever had and we live in a foodie city (Portland, Oregon). Inventive chef and great presentation...attentive but not overbearing service. Gorgeous setting with the harbor and patio. I had the halibut and my daughter had the fried sushi and a salad. Outstanding on both!! Would love to come back next time we visit Victoria!!
Excellent recommendations from the waiter. The restaurant has both an excellent view of the Inner Harbour and superb food.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable in food and wine served. Reservation process smooth and accommodating. Noise level was elevated from close proximity to other guests and no music- or at least wasn’t loud enough to add to a better ambiance. Food was phenomenal :)
Our dinner at Aura was one of the highlights of our trip to Victoria. The ingredients were fresh, excellently prepared and delicious! I had never enjoyed oysters; the local oysters were delicious. The chocolate dessert paired with the port was divine.
First time in this restaurant. Good presentation. Everything we ordered was so good and different. The waiter was very friendly and efficient. Can’t wait to go back to try other dishes on the manu .
The food was cooked perfectly but served cold. When that was pointed out to the staff there was not a lot of concern. Disappointed
We celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary on the patio. Excellent food and excellent, personal, service. Aura is our favourite patio restaurant and we’ll be back .
A pleasant meal in a a nice dining room with fabulous view.
The salmon was delicious and nicely presented, the halibut was over cooked.
The Bar dessert was heavenly!
Food, service and ambiance were all fantastic. Kate (our server) made the experience that much more special. Only complaint, Mocktails were not mixed properly (all the sugar was on the bottom). Overall, excellent.
Father’s Day brunch was a success! The food was amazing and the service was impeccable.
Great food and wonderful service. We loved the entire experience.
The food was great as always. We are always amazed at the chef’s creations. The maitre d, Robin, is extremely knowledgeable about wines and food pairings and always a pleasure to talk with. We’ve been coming here a few years now.
The one thing that is lacking is the service. While not in a hurry it was very slow. In fact, recently we were there for happy hour and again, the service was slow. We only ordered oysters and it took a long time to get them. It wasn’t terribly busy either.
My steak was grisly and not cooked to order. Appetizers were great. Venue and atmosphere or in synk with its high price. The food wasn’t. Management very responsibly refunded my entrée
Excellent service and ambiance. Food was outstanding. We had a great time.
Outstanding view, staff and presentation. Close to everything in Victoria.
Delicious food at a reasonable price. The patio has a lovely view. The staff is attentive and professional.
