Wonderful experience and great food. My water glass stayed full and the food was full of flavor. Everyone had a pleasant attitude.

Once again we brought friends to Augies and we all enjoyed the evening. The ladies appreciated the smaller portions available with the Thrifty Thursday options. And the guys can still order from the regular menu. The food is outstanding with many dishes very comparable to upscale dining in Chicago or St. Louis. And Gabe gave us great service, answering menu questions and keeping things running smoothly. We’ll be back.

Our food was excellent and prepared as we like it. Our dinner companion had a food allergy and her need was met graciously. The wine list was good and we had a very good Cabernet. Our server Sarah was attentive but did not hover. Excellent service

I had two issues with my last visit. We made our reservations for an outside table. When we got to our table two of the chairs were visibly broken, the seats were unraveled. The issues were very apparent and I would find it hard to believe that someone did not notice when the table was set up. We then asked the hostess if we could move to the table in front which had newer chairs. We were a party of eight and the other table was set for six, however it was the same size table. We would simply have to pull two chairs up to the ends to make it work. The hostess told us we could not because all the tables were reserved, did not understand her reasoning because no one else was there so she could of let us move while she fixed the chairs before the next people arrived but she would not allow it. Then a party of six approached us and asked if the tables were free, we told them they could ask inside but we were told all the tables were reserved. We were very surprised when the hostess came back out and seated them at the table we had asked to move to. I asked the hostess how they got the table when they were all reserved, first she told me they had a reservation. When I told her they had already stated they did not have a reservation she said "We are just really busy." I am not sure how that justifies her lying to us. Our waitress was great and we enjoyed the food, our only problem was the broken chairs and hostess.

We went to Augie's Front Burner due to rating online.
Service was outstanding and honest. Lobster bisque needs some work. Salads were incredible!.
My entree fish was overcooked while my friend's steak was cooked correctly. Overpriced fish dish for what I received.

We had a reservation and arrived on time.
They proceeded past 3-4 empty two tops and wanted to seat us at a two top stuck by itself in front of the kitchen door. When I asked to be seated at one of the other tables I was told that they were reserved and we could sit at the bar or outside. So we left and went down the street.

They seated us at a table next to the swinging doors of the kitchen. Constant traffic in and out for the entire time. The doors open directly to the dining area, so ours was not the only table affected by the racket.

I was served a glass of Zinfandel that was from an old bottle and it tasted terrible; as a result, I sent it back.

Our food and service were good. The ambiance was poor. I would suggest building a wall in front of the swinging doors to reduce the sound from the kitchen and hiring an architect/interior designer to improve the 1978-looking interior.

A friend recommended Augie's and we were excited to go. When we arrived we were given menus and a list of specials. We picked one of the specials and only then were we informed that the specials were for the following week. That was a little annoying. Then the dish we ordered came and was extremely salty.

Hi - I usually like Augie's FB - and go there every time I'm in Springfield (I Iive in Pittsburgh PA). This time had a half chicken -smothered in bbq sauce - not too great. One suggestion - vary the menu maybe? I would also appreciate large bottles of mineral water (pellegrino or perrier) as I don't drink alcohol.

Very wonderful and fun place! Great food, YES VERY QUIET and no kids at all. Kitchen staff is very friendly; the bar carries Tanqueray 10 Gin. Very rare in Springfield. Wait staff is excellent, steaks and fish are excellent. Everything is exceptional!

Food was fine but service was dicey. Waitress had large table in other part of restaurant and we were all but forgotten. Forgot drink, and we had to order a bottle of wine twice. It finally came when we were more than halfway through the meal.

I had Thai-style duck. It was perfectly cooked but doused, as was the rest of the plate, with a red chili glaze that was too salty and too hot. It pretty-much wrecked what could have been quite a good dish. Very disappointing

Food was fabulous! I had the short rib and ate every bite on my plate. We were able to walk to the restaurant from our hotel, and it was a pleasant evening stroll. The service was wonderful. Our table was even visited by an Abe Lincoln impersonator!

We were in Springfield IL for the Il State Square Dance convention and treated ourselves to a night out before driving 130 miles home. Lobster bisque not as good as bisque we have had at other places but the rest of the meal was great. The pear salad, special swordfish, and stuffed sole was excellent. The tarimisu was good and we found the peach bread pudding unique. Good wine selection (had the Aviary Cab and Routestock Cab). The wait staff was very attentive.

Friendly service and good food in nice atmosphere. We popped in for lunch to cool off from touring and was treated like we were locals (great server). I order the 'chef's surprise' which turned out to be a wonderful naan wrap filled with fresh ingredients. The quesadilla was delicious, too. A great choice when visiting the sights.

Driving home from Lake Michigan to Kansas City, we (as always) used Open Table to find a great restaurant. As usual, we were not disappointed. The meal was fantastic. As an added bonus, Abe Lincoln walked through the restaurant. Springfield finds value in history and has a program throughout the summer to enhance tourism. What an excellent idea, we were thrilled! I had a strip, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly with vegetables and my vegetarian daughter had a wonderful vegetable medley that the chef prepared just for her, at our waitpersons suggestion. She absolutely loved it and came home and tried to replicate it.

Good food, good service. Restaurant needs updating badly. Nasty carpet as you come in. It was not busy at all the night we were there, yet we were placed next to an occupied table and the tables were uncomfortably close. We heard their conversation and I'm sure they heard ours. I should have asked to change tables. The good food was the saving grace.

I wanted to take my mother to a nice dinner for Mothers Day celebration and my birthday. First, I would like to say that the food was phenominal! However, We ended up staying there for two hours and it was because our waiter rarely came to our table. He only checked on us when he was bringing food our food. Other than that, it was a great experience and I would definitely take my mom here
