What a great experience! Food, wine selection and staff second to none!
It was a great experience yesterday, our server took time to explain the menu. Everything’s delicious, although pricy but its all worth it. Will bring my family next time.
Perfection from start to finish. The food, service and ambience were impeccable.
The view & service is excellent but food was so so & pricey but doesn’t match the 1 M-Star rating
The view was amazing and service very attentive. Not pretentious at all and I was so pleased to see vegetarian options. My husband was adventurous and tried the sweetbreads. The gnocchi was light and divine. We would definitely come back.
The bar: We got there a little early thinking that we could wait in the bar for 15 min but we found it full of really loud and inebriated patrons who were less than pleased by our overly-polite attempts to even reach the bar (seriously, I was apologizing for intruding but got dirty looks anyway). My husband finally got the bartender's attention and asked to close out so we could head over the restaurant; we paid $42 for a Gimlet (which I sent back to the bar b/c it was pure sugar the first time) and a mediocre Manhattan. Very disappointing.
The restaurant: We decided to go with the 6-course tasting menu with wine pairing. The amuse bouche were delicious! The ambiance was a little confusing as the dining room is small and the noise level rose and fell dramatically all evening; we found it really distracting as we were hoping for a quiet and intimate dinner. The courses were tasty (interestingly every course had a very sweet element like orange juice-soaked endive) and the servers were polite but we did have to wait long intervals between courses.
Bright note: The view was spectacular!
Perhaps if we'd come in the spring/summer when the patio is open, we might have had a more pleasant experience (better ambiance). At any rate, we won't be going back or recommending due to the atmosphere.
This was incredible we loved every minute
It was our first time in Napa Valley and I did a lot of restaurant research. I’m so glad I chose this restaurant because it was 5 stars all around! Highly recommend!!
Incredible dining experience! We took our ur son and his girlfriend for his 21st birthday. Our server Michael was fantastic and the food is by far the best we’ve ever had anywhere.
The view and atmosphere at Auberge was lovely, very peaceful and refreshing. Our waiter was very attentive and explained menu options beautifully. Our bread was served warm with butter that melted easily which is always a good sign. The first course was divine - foie gras for me, salad for hubby- both delicious and flavorful. Second course a beautiful fish for me and a hearty chicken dish for him. We were very pleased but our waiter became so engrossed with a large party nearby, we never saw him again! We’d hoped to order wine and found ourselves flagging him down for the prix fixed desert and our check. Maybe it was later in the lunch hour and he’d become distracted but we felt a bit annoyed. We had to rush out to make our next winery appointment.
Bottom line, excellent experience that fell off the service cliff at the end.
The service was surprisingly slow to start, but improved. The food was delicious! The prices are high and I recommend bringing your own bottle of wine. There is a $20 corkage fee. The view is beautiful and a lovely choice for a mild sunny day. We love Napa Valley!
Amazing food. Top notch caviar, Wagyu steak and foie gras. Highly recommend. Around 400 a person which is beyond a steal for the courses and service.
We selected Auberge au Sol to be the pinnacle dinner of our trip in Napa. We ordered the tasting menu, and the food, service, and ambiance did not disappoint. We love octopus and saw that it was on the main menu but not the tasting menu, We were allowed to substitute it for another started and loved it and loved the flexibility. The only only place for improvement was the wine pairing and wine prices. We got the wine pairing with the tasting menu and none of wines were memorable. The full wine list is very extensive, but the prices are about 50% higher than other fine restaurants in the area.
Breakfast is amazing and the service is impeccable. Everything on the breakfast menu is amazing.
The service was distracted and perfunctory. It took nearly 15 minutes for the server to arrive, wasn’t engaged, and was absent nearly all of the meal except to take order and drop check. He was more concerned about an 8 top that had sat than his other tables who were also complaining amongst themselves. The food was good as usual. Dining isn’t all about the food though.
Perfect for everyday dining
World class - outstanding in every way. The food is exceptional.
Michael was our server, he was fantastic very professional . Our meal was absolutely Michelin star quality . The sommelier ( level III ) was very unprofessional and cold , her recommendations were horrible . Wine pairing should be fun, not snobby .
As always, one of the finest dining exoeriences with an unforgettable Valley view.
Restaurant week in the Napa Valley. Lunch special menu was delicious - generous portions. Biale wine was a good match for the chicken dish and the cable on the strawberry a lovely birthday touch. Locals enjoying a restaurant gem.
Can’t go wrong here 👍
Food, Service, Atmosphere, View...
All top notch.
First time...will return
Service was very nice.
Fabulous menu and service during restaurant week.
Great atmosphere and view from outside patio. Food was very good, wine excellent. Service was perfect. We will go back.
every single dish exceeded our expectation. And friendly staff made the whole experience very special too.
Great place to enjoy a special lunch with friends. Great view and food
Passing through town on a weekend wine trip, and marked this place as a “must visit”. Great service, good food and fair view. Unfortunately, they were doing some construction at the lower level of the patio and ruined the fantastic view.
Food was fantastic. Service level was great. Restaurant is beautiful. What more can I say - I will go back when in Napa.
What a way to start the new year - 2018...lunch with our best friends for 55 years!
Excellent FOOD, SERVICE and the VIEW WAS BREATHTAKING! Weather was perfect!
Everything was absolutely impeccable!
Nice enough view, but the food is wanting. Super 90's menu.
Our beautiful 4 year traditional Christmas afternoon meal
Amazing service, but for a Michelin Star restaurant the food is way below average when compared to restaurants with similar classification. Not really worth the visit, maybe the view during lunch tome makes it slightly better.
Great food! Great service!
Where do I begin on how wonderful our brunch was? We sat on the patio for the amazing view and it did not disappoint.
The food was amazing. I had the short rib for brunch and my husband had the duck confit. A place not to be missed.
Food was excellent and the service was on point! Definitely recommend!
