Incredible dining experience! We took our ur son and his girlfriend for his 21st birthday. Our server Michael was fantastic and the food is by far the best we’ve ever had anywhere.
The view and atmosphere at Auberge was lovely, very peaceful and refreshing. Our waiter was very attentive and explained menu options beautifully. Our bread was served warm with butter that melted easily which is always a good sign. The first course was divine - foie gras for me, salad for hubby- both delicious and flavorful. Second course a beautiful fish for me and a hearty chicken dish for him. We were very pleased but our waiter became so engrossed with a large party nearby, we never saw him again! We’d hoped to order wine and found ourselves flagging him down for the prix fixed desert and our check. Maybe it was later in the lunch hour and he’d become distracted but we felt a bit annoyed. We had to rush out to make our next winery appointment.
Bottom line, excellent experience that fell off the service cliff at the end.
The service was surprisingly slow to start, but improved. The food was delicious! The prices are high and I recommend bringing your own bottle of wine. There is a $20 corkage fee. The view is beautiful and a lovely choice for a mild sunny day. We love Napa Valley!
Amazing food. Top notch caviar, Wagyu steak and foie gras. Highly recommend. Around 400 a person which is beyond a steal for the courses and service.
We selected Auberge au Sol to be the pinnacle dinner of our trip in Napa. We ordered the tasting menu, and the food, service, and ambiance did not disappoint. We love octopus and saw that it was on the main menu but not the tasting menu, We were allowed to substitute it for another started and loved it and loved the flexibility. The only only place for improvement was the wine pairing and wine prices. We got the wine pairing with the tasting menu and none of wines were memorable. The full wine list is very extensive, but the prices are about 50% higher than other fine restaurants in the area.
The service was distracted and perfunctory. It took nearly 15 minutes for the server to arrive, wasn’t engaged, and was absent nearly all of the meal except to take order and drop check. He was more concerned about an 8 top that had sat than his other tables who were also complaining amongst themselves. The food was good as usual. Dining isn’t all about the food though.
Perfect for everyday dining
World class - outstanding in every way. The food is exceptional.
Michael was our server, he was fantastic very professional . Our meal was absolutely Michelin star quality . The sommelier ( level III ) was very unprofessional and cold , her recommendations were horrible . Wine pairing should be fun, not snobby .
As always, one of the finest dining exoeriences with an unforgettable Valley view.
Restaurant week in the Napa Valley. Lunch special menu was delicious - generous portions. Biale wine was a good match for the chicken dish and the cable on the strawberry a lovely birthday touch. Locals enjoying a restaurant gem.
