This is a great restaurant, but for the price it should have been one of the best meals I ever had. The ambience and the service were best of the best. The food was very good, but in itself not memorable. Ergo the 4 star rating.

Went there to celebrate my sisters 30th and 38th birthday. The food was fantastic! Did’nt think we could still have foie gras In california, So it was a pleasant surprise. But our waitress was condescending. Her only comments to us before taking our order was: No substitution and do you understand the menu? It irked me even more when I noticed her interacting with other patrons and she actually took the time to go over the menu and made recommendations. Overall: Good food and great views! Service will likely be good if you look like a certain group of people.

Vista espectacular. Comida bien balanceada y en cantidades adecuadas. La carta de vinos muy completa, tanto locales como extranjeros.
Buen servicio y sazón
Lo único negativo la calefacción que al final llego a ser muy molesta dado que no hacía tanto frío

In town for spring break and my husband's 60th birthday. We were extremely disappointed in our server. He did not introduce himself to the table and overall he was very short and hurried. We really enjoyed our food and the view was amazing but the lack of good service tainted our experience! We expected more from a Michelin rated restaurant server.

Gnocchi and Foie Gras were delicious (although the Foie Gras could have been a little bigger). My wife loved her risotto, and the lobster salad salad had a generous portion of lobster with a nice curry flavor to the salad. Great view and ambiance. Of all the nice lunches we’ve had, I’d say that was in our top 5 of all time.

My wife and I spent a day at Napa Valley, and looked for a place to have lunch. We found "Auberge du Soleil" on OpenTable, and went there. The view is lovely, the place is quiet, and the food is amazing. I got the Gnocchi and the Risotto. My wife which has Gluten allergy got the Asparagus soup and the Sautéed Petrale Sole. We shared the desert. Food was amazing. Highly recommended.

We travel the Bay Area a lot to dine at as many restaurants as we can schedule (it's my hobby). I prefer dining in Sonoma or Monterey counties....EXCEPT for Auberge. Specifically, lunch on a nice day out on the patio. There is no finer, more relaxing, more "California living" experience than this. This is not 'trophy chef hunting' - one dines here because the food is as good as the view and the service, not because you're chasing the latest fad or Instagram. Chef Curry focuses on clean, seasonal flavors in thoughtful combinations. Pastry chef Lemieux is brilliant, DO NOT miss dessert! Execution is consistent and skilled. Service is precisely what it should be but almost never is: welcoming, pleasant, efficient; but never obtrusive, condescending, or hesitant. Now that Etoile is closed, Auberge is the only reason why we still come to dine in Napa. This was our 8th or 9th meal (I've lost track, LOL); it is by far our favorite Napa Valley restaurant.

The bar: We got there a little early thinking that we could wait in the bar for 15 min but we found it full of really loud and inebriated patrons who were less than pleased by our overly-polite attempts to even reach the bar (seriously, I was apologizing for intruding but got dirty looks anyway). My husband finally got the bartender's attention and asked to close out so we could head over the restaurant; we paid $42 for a Gimlet (which I sent back to the bar b/c it was pure sugar the first time) and a mediocre Manhattan. Very disappointing.

The restaurant: We decided to go with the 6-course tasting menu with wine pairing. The amuse bouche were delicious! The ambiance was a little confusing as the dining room is small and the noise level rose and fell dramatically all evening; we found it really distracting as we were hoping for a quiet and intimate dinner. The courses were tasty (interestingly every course had a very sweet element like orange juice-soaked endive) and the servers were polite but we did have to wait long intervals between courses.

Bright note: The view was spectacular!

Perhaps if we'd come in the spring/summer when the patio is open, we might have had a more pleasant experience (better ambiance). At any rate, we won't be going back or recommending due to the atmosphere.

The view and atmosphere at Auberge was lovely, very peaceful and refreshing. Our waiter was very attentive and explained menu options beautifully. Our bread was served warm with butter that melted easily which is always a good sign. The first course was divine - foie gras for me, salad for hubby- both delicious and flavorful. Second course a beautiful fish for me and a hearty chicken dish for him. We were very pleased but our waiter became so engrossed with a large party nearby, we never saw him again! We’d hoped to order wine and found ourselves flagging him down for the prix fixed desert and our check. Maybe it was later in the lunch hour and he’d become distracted but we felt a bit annoyed. We had to rush out to make our next winery appointment.

Bottom line, excellent experience that fell off the service cliff at the end.

The service was surprisingly slow to start, but improved. The food was delicious! The prices are high and I recommend bringing your own bottle of wine. There is a $20 corkage fee. The view is beautiful and a lovely choice for a mild sunny day. We love Napa Valley!

We selected Auberge au Sol to be the pinnacle dinner of our trip in Napa. We ordered the tasting menu, and the food, service, and ambiance did not disappoint. We love octopus and saw that it was on the main menu but not the tasting menu, We were allowed to substitute it for another started and loved it and loved the flexibility. The only only place for improvement was the wine pairing and wine prices. We got the wine pairing with the tasting menu and none of wines were memorable. The full wine list is very extensive, but the prices are about 50% higher than other fine restaurants in the area.

The service was distracted and perfunctory. It took nearly 15 minutes for the server to arrive, wasn’t engaged, and was absent nearly all of the meal except to take order and drop check. He was more concerned about an 8 top that had sat than his other tables who were also complaining amongst themselves. The food was good as usual. Dining isn’t all about the food though.
