About Auberge du Pommier
The original jewel in the Oliver & Bonacini crown and a North Toronto icon, Auberge du Pommier has been serving guests since 1987. Constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860’s woodcutters’ cottages, Auberge du Pommier combines country charm with contemporary sophistication and style. Featuring wood burning fireplaces in winter and lush, floral terraces in summer, it is a welcoming, refined retreat from the city.
Led by Executive Chef John Horne and Chef de Cuisine Malcolm Campbell, Auberge du Pommier is defining contemporary French cooking in Canada. The cuisine honours both the refined techniques and rustic styles of classic French fare, with an innovative North American accent.
Auberge du Pommier is routinely ranked among Joanne Kates’ Top 100 Restaurants, and was awarded a five-star rating by Toronto Life magazine in 2016.

Auberge du Pommier Ratings and Reviews
It was a our 10th Wedding Anniversary and because we got married at the Auberge, we are so fortunate to be able to return each year and relive the happiness and joy of that day, which always includes an exceptional meal, authentic customer service and incredible ambience.
Our waiter was very good. Our dessert we took home and when we opened it they were the wrong desserts. We were seated for three hours and a lot of in between waiting, I have neck issues so we had to take the dessert to go. It was hard to sit for that long. Just some feedback the bench is very soft and it’s in need of some new springs as you sink into it and very uncomfortable holding yourself up for that long. I’m 35 years old and I found it hard to sit there. It was a set menu for Valentine’s Day which we didn’t know. (Would have been nice to know this before hand) My tea didn’t come either but the waiter was nice enough to point it out on our way out. We weren’t charged for it. Probably won’t go back being that it was not the greatest first impression. Would be good for an event or Corporate meeting though.
Soup to nuts, my experience at Auberge du Pommier was stellar. The risotto was perfect. The salade was perfectly balanced. The server was a hair green (but friendly and attentive) and the bleu was "bluer" than my preference but, as a whole this could scarcely have been a better lunch.
I invited my Sister and her boyfriend as they had never had the Auberge experience. They were gastronomically moved by the food and wine (Biffs). Auberge never fails to deliver a gourmet experience for food lovers and a wonderful experience for neophytes! Bravo as always.
Our evening dining here was well worth it. The food and service were both exceptional.
My partner who is also a chef was impressed with all of our course as well as the fine red wine available.
I'll definitely be back and we are both recommending that our friends visit.
Came for lunch, perhaps it happened to be a winterlicious event, however the quality overall this visit was not what I expected. Portions were small and found two bones in the salmon. Flavour was good but not as complex as regular times.
I’ve only come for dinner during non “licious” times and experienced much better food and service.
Interesting note though, the previous summerlicious had much better food and portion sizes.
We went for the Winterlicious lunch and were pleased with all three courses on the fixed price menu. We have been here before, and will go again.
The waiter was very helpful and good at his job. It was my husband's birthday and this was acknowledged by the restaurant, making the meal even more pleasant.
We were looking forward to dine in on my daughter’s birthday. We chose the winterliciuos menu. Vegetarian option in the main was only one. The pasta was extremely salty. Pasta sort of clumped together and tiny bit dry on the edges as if it was prepared earlier and left to dry!! The salad lacked flavour. It had good texture but very dry as if the dressing didn’t make it to the plate. Didn’t expect this from auberege. Overall, service was excellent, the ambience very pleasant. They prepared an alternative drink for my daughter as the one on the menu wasn’t available. So they took care in providing great customer service. It wasn’t a washout but I wish they would put more effort in ensuring nothing but the best arrived on the tables.
Reserved on line for Winterlicious for 1:30pm. Arrived 5" early to a lobby filled with standing elbow to elbow people waiting for their reserved table. It was like being in a over crowded subway car. We were taken to a table 20" later after asking why the couple, who just walked in without a reservation were just shown to a great table! Many customers overhearing this failed exhaustive reservation search, figured the couple would be ordering from the "regular" not the winterlicious menu!!
Service was exceptional, food very delicious. I felt the plate presentation not as good as other similar priced WInterIcious restaurants. Large plate with food towards one side looked like some food was missing.
My future visits will always be for the 1st meal sitting!
Came here with my wife for date night during their witerlicious promotion. The atmosphere was beautiful with quietly playing french music, staff was very polite and worked as a team, complimentary coat check upon walking in, food was delicious and served in perfect time intervals. It was a wonderful dining experience and i would highly recommend it for any occasion.
We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. at Winterlious. The staff were friendly courteous and very helpful. One of our group has his right arm in a sling . They accommodated this by placing cutlery appropriately and they poured his tea . Cudos to the staff there
It was disappointing. There was huge gap between our appetizer and main course. When our main course came, our food was quite close to cold. My tenderloin was not even warm and dry. The braised rib was blend and dry. Desert was not impressed either. I asked for espresso with my desert but my tart which does not even need warm up did not come in time.
On top of it, the manager bumped into my chair but didn’t say sorry.
We come to the restaurant every chance we get, especially for winterlicious and summerlicious. Probably will not return due to this experience.
We were disappointed in food. The soup was excellent, but it went down hill from there. The short rib was dry and luke warm. Salmon was good but not exceptional, the deserts were disappointing. The pastry with the tart was hard and dry, cake did not have any flavour. The service was excellent, we were greeted nicely and our coats were hung up for us.
We went to Auberge du Pommier in July for Sumerlicous. It was our best dinner in Toronto, the food was really excellent, the service was stunning and the place (the big room with stone) was very nice and looks like a French house.
We were really excited to go back to this place for winterlicious and we were so disappointed. The food was basic, nothing special and without a lot of taste. We seated in another room, close to the entrance, which was not as nice as the big one and a little faded. The service was still good.
I hope it was a bad day for the restaurant and the quality is still the same as July because it was definitely a great place in Toronto.
