About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Romantic
The original jewel in the Oliver & Bonacini crown and a North Toronto icon, Auberge du Pommier has been serving guests since 1987. Constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860’s woodcutters’ cottages, Auberge du Pommier combines country charm with contemporary sophistication and style. Featuring wood burning fireplaces in winter and lush, floral terraces in summer, it is a welcoming, refined retreat from the city.

Please note: reservations for Summerlicious open on June 29, and will be available online only.

Utterly underwhelming experience. Had anyone at the restaurant asked how anything was, I would have let them know but they did not. I had the pea risotto for $32 - it was tasteless and mushy. My daughter enjoyed her salmon. We had to wait for water. No one inquired about the meal even when my plate was taken away. My credit card sat on the table for a long time. No one asked on the way out how everything was. The bright spot was the hostess who was lovely on the way in. And of course the patio is lovely which is one of the reasons I thought to go back after not having been to the restaurant for many years. Won’t be back unfortunately.

As always, expectations at Auberge are always surpassed. We've been regulars for the past many years and have never, ever been disappointed with any aspect of dining here. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The Auberge is the preeminant French restaurant in Toronto for good reason beyond only the menu and the food. We always choose to dine here for special occasions since it is a very special place.

The welcome at Auberge is always wonderful. I don't get there as often as I'd like, and they always are warm, welcoming, remember who I am, and know my allergies. The food is exceptional. The service is lovely. It's a joy to be there.

The food here is usually excellent, but I thought their summerlicious pre-fix menu was just average. I would definitely go back, but stick to items on their regular a la cart menu. Service is very professional, but it does take time to get your order taken.

This was a Summerlicious lunch. We ordered the steak frites. The frites were not frites but, instead, overcooked, hard as a rock, waffle fries. Needless to say, they didn’t get eaten. Our server was very kind and brought us a second dessert which I must say, hats off to the pastry chef as they were absolutely delicious!

Totally overrated. The potatoes in the Steak and Frites is so hard (not crispy). Even my 12 year old who loves chips & potato refused to eat. Cod didn’t seem fresh. We told the server and he completely ignored us. Anyway definitely not going back. Bad experience. Wasted $300 for a lunch for 3.

Amazing service and food quality throughout the meal! I was very surprised that they took the extra step of decorating my dessert with Congratulations after I briefly mentioned that the dinner was to celebrate that I reached another professional milestone. Highly recommend and I will definitely be returning soon!

Went for Summerlicous, nice restaurant, good service overall. Will need to pay for the bread and butter and was not informed there is a charge for it.
