soft bourbon vanilla custard / torched brown sugar
Steak Frites au poivre
10 oz New York steak / green peppercorn sauce / lavender french fries
fried calamaris / tartar sauce
Absolutely outstanding. Everything from wine list to dessert list. Incredible flavors.
Service awesome. Price point excellent. We will be back and I highly recommend this place. We are total foodies too.. Escargot-mussels-trout stuffed with lobster-hanger steak-lavender French Fries-Creme Brûlée- Brioche bread pudding.
Portions are large also. Not your typical French portions.
Food was not perfectperfect. Neither was the service. But all in all, both were VERY good. And the prices were extremely reasonable. We had brunch, including a delicious"Californian" Eggs Benedict with avocados, fruit, and wonderful French-style roasted potatoes, for only $12. And their "Bottomless Mimosa", which included an entire bottle of very good California champagne, was also only $12. We've eaten here for years. It's well worth the trip.
It was a great quiet calm atmosphere! Our waiter was awesome!!
Like all the other Mastellone family of restaurants, Au Revoir never falls short of providing consistently good meals combined with attentive service.
From the escargots to the salmon, duck confit, or boeuf bourguignon, and ending with a berry-topped creme brulee, every bite was as good as the last one.
For whatever reason, we don't eat here often enough. That needs to change!
Fantastic food and lovely French music. Service very good.
Fantastic french cuisine! Small bistro atmosphere. Thoroughly pleasant and professional service. We had the onion soup, scallops au gratin, croque madame, and beef bourginogne. Creme brulee for dessert. Everything was delicious and hot. Prices were surprisingly moderate. Really great value. Plan to return for dinner and would highly recommend to anyone.
Food is very good but way too salty. Ask for no salt when you order.
Great food, great service, a warm and inviting ambience. Loved it!
The food was very good but the service was quite lacking.
One of my favorite restaurants in San Diego. Simple French cuisine, always delicious. Soups are always a treat.
Fantastic flavors, in salad, sauce for mushroom ravioli, orange tinted creme boule. Ample portions. My husband is exacting about steak flavor and degree of doneness. The filet mignon met his high expectation.
Both double doors were open for ventilation requirements. A little chilly so take an extra sweater and/or scarf.
Wonderful food! Really enjoyed our meal. Well done French-inspired food.
I think they were very short handed with the waitstaff. There were only two waiters and it seemed one was in training. We had to wait at the desk for 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged. It was another 15 minutes before we were seated and even longer to get menus. It was quite cold inside with the doors and windows open. The food was very good when it finally arrived. I have been there before and thought it was excellent, but perhaps due to Covid, it has slipped a lot. I hope it gets back to its original wonderful dining experience.
Excellent service, meals was great. Lamb was cooked to perfection, seafood & risotto were some of the best we have had. Wine list featured a good selection.
Definitely going back soon!
Sergio is the best of the best
For fine French cuisine and a charming and friendly atmosphere, Aurevoir is a must.
The prices are very reasonable and the staff are efficient and helpful.
All around an amazing spot! Great food and great people working there!
Fabulous food and superb service!
Great neighborhood gem. Don't tell anyone!
We return regularly and don't want to fight for a table. But if you do come and take ours, I suggest the duck confit - which is always both available and terrific.
So amazing! The food was great!
Authentic French cooking
Always a delight to eat here. Sergio served us well
Magnificent cuisine and terrific service.
The only reason for the less-than-perfect ratings are due to COVID-19 and the pandemic. We look forward to are a more robust wine selection and a warmer room (no open doors) due to COVID.
We will be back again, and can't wait!
Pasta was cold. Waiter was rude. Restaurant was freezing cold and they wouldn't use the heaters.
It was lovely but our waiter was over-worked and it was really unfair to him. He could not have done any better unless he had two clones. There were too many tables for one person to maître d’, wait tables, be a bar tender, and buss tables.
Music was too loud. Quiet French would be better. Hard to talk and hear over music
Sauce on the steak was too salty for my taste. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice.
We love Au Revoir. This time the poached eggs were a little over cooked. Food came out a little slow. But servers were excellent as always. And we are still loyal fans.
Lovely brunch, had the duck confit benedict and was very impressed with the size and taste. Yummy! Comfortable service, not rushed but not ignored either.
The mussels were great, the duck salad was pretty good, the onion soup was excellent, the snails were just ok...and the server was friendly and knowledgeable but didn't give me the sense that I was in France 😉
Lovely and atmospheric meal. Duck Confit and Mushroom Ravioli were well executed with lovely presentation.
Everything was great except the cold weather without a space heater (which standing just inside the front door, unused).
Always great food and service! So happy they have reopened once again! Neighborhood gem!
I love this place! The food is great and the mimosa price is a good deal. Service is always wonderful too!
Restaurant shows open on Open Table for patio dining but is closed
Please support this place. It is a favorite for my wife and I. So pleasant, great food, and so French. We were there last Saturday (12/5) for brunch. The omelet with lobster and hollandaise was superb as was the steak/frites. Beer was great, Sancerre was chosen well. Just a pleasant brunch which may not happen again for a spell. Order carry out. You do not want this place to die.
The food was top shelf and very reasonably priced. The service was very good considering there was just one server, he was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor when I teased him about his headwear.
I intend to visit more if at all possible and will recommend it to others 👍👍
We had an excellent lunch last Sunday before Thanksgiving. My husband and I shared a big portion of mussels, then I had the Californian crepe filled with scrambled eggs and sliced avocado. As for a drink, I was given a whole Californian champagne for the bottomless mimosa, a real good deal! We were sitting outside as the only option nowadays, in the parking lot with umbrellas, close to the busy street intersection. Service was attentive and fast. We’ll go back for sure.
Very nice restaurant, a gem in the neighborhood. Hard to give high marks for ambience when they have to serve food in the parking lot, because of the Coronavirus. We were visiting San Diego and found it on 'nearby restaurants' and are sorry it is not in our neighborhood.
Great food and service
very nice unassuming place in a small strip mall. Food was very well executed and service. was excellent. intro style frank and some more "Mediterranean" dished as well, very nice wine list as reasonable prices.
