We made a reservation for an early time and told our waiter we were off to an 8:00 o’clock show. He told us to enjoy our drinks and when we were ready to order to turn our menus over as a sign. All went like clock work and we enjoy a fabulous meal with no delays.
Great dinner before theatre. Excellent service! She reviewed each entree item on the menu for us. Many servers took care of various things. Excellent tasting food and drinks too. Placement of our table of 6 was noisy. Have room for good deserts. All staff worked as a team - nice.
Great brunch location.
Pleasant, bright ambiance in lobby of Atwood Hotel. Great pre theater dinner choice. Small menu but well prepared food. You can also have two appetizers...good crab cakes, delicious smoked trout pate with Lavash flat bread.
This was my first business meal in Atwood and i absolutely loved it. It's very nice and elegant, the service is outstanding, recommendations were great, quality of the food (as well as portion) was amazing. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend and I would love to take my boyfriend to Atwood for a romantic dinner sometime soon. I'm super happy with the experience, the food, service, and prices.
Great Bartender Drew! Made some nice cocktails
Overall, a wonderful early supper after a show downtown. Within walking distance. Food was excellent, enjoyed the monkfish and shortrib. Service was outstanding; kudos to our server, Taylor!
We had a very enjoyable Sunday Brunch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and fun. The menu is interesting and the food was very good. I highly recommend the Atwood Cafe.
The food was good. A couple of items were under-flavored, but others were fantastic. Be judicious in ordering or discuss it with the staff.
Good ambiance and service. All appetizers and side dishes are for two or more people. That doesn't make sense to me. More food is wasted.
My wife and I were being local tourists for a long weekend, celebrating our first child. We stayed downtown and needed a nice, non-chain/touristy restaurant, so we found Atwood. I told them in our reservation that we were celebrating and they made my wife feel very special. Service, food, ambiance was all exactly right.
Very good service provided by Heath. Food was interesting and well prepared. The smoked salmon, avocado, eggs benedict was very tasty. Enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Enjoyed our cocktails with lunch. Very good coffee.
Friendly staff, delicious food and good wine choices. Perfect location for pre-theatre.
Favorite business lunch place. Just a great overall restaurant to take friends or business associates.
Great food and service!
I ordered the kale and salmon salad. The sweet potatoes were undercooked and had no flavor. The salmon was cold and bland. Not very good.
Food was great, as was service. Great views onto the street.
Atwood host couldn’t locate my open table reservation even when I showed her the confirmation on my phone. Nevertheless we were seated quickly. The service was very good. Our waiter was friendly, made helpful recommendations and was very attentive. The price for food and drink is a bit ridiculous but we chose it for its proximity to another destination. Can’t afford too come here that often so will look for alternative lunch choices.
Our server -- "Latrice" was excellent. I had the crispy salmon which was very good.
It was my sister’s birthday, and Sophie as well as the rest of the staff were so friendly and inviting. The mussels appetizer we ordered was scrumptious and the entrees were delicious. We ordered the pork chop which was wonderfully seasoned and the grits were so sumptuous, and the braised short ribs had been even more delectable and tender. The only thing we found comical was how the maitre d’ built up the dessert to be this elaborate concoction, and we got vanilla bean ice cream with blueberries. He oversold that part, though the vanilla bean was tasty. Overall, it was a delightful birthday dinner which thankfully my sister thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for a great experience!
The service was fantastic and food well prepared. It was not for us though, no fault of the restaurant. At least we can say we had a new experience. Definitely try it, it might not be your cup of tea. Judging by our meal and experience though, it won’t be a regret.
The pumpkin soup was good, but the crispy salmon was overpriced for the small serving, and nothing exceptional taste wise. You can get better food at lower prices elsewhere in this neighborhood. The server did not introduce herself. Again. This seems to be a Chicago thing.
Haven't been here in a long time. Nice face lift--much brighter and chic.
Great service! Our waitress was outstanding. Crab cake and grilled cheese sandwiches were excellent.
Service was lacking attention to table, it took 15 minutes to receive water for one of our guests and server seemed bothered that we asked for one more minute to look over the menu. God was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
We were staying at the Alise and were very pleasantly surprised by the food at the Atwood. I had the Crispy Salmon, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. My husband enjoyed the Amish chicken.
Great lunch spot. Love meeting friends here. Recommend it!
The staff was great. They greeted us pleasantly, and made me feel like they were happy that we arrived when I gave our name for the reservation. They offered recommendations and were attentive enough, without being overbearing.
My niece and I were out for a special treat day. Atwood was fabulous! The wait staff was polite and funny; even our neighboring patrons got in on some of the fun. That only happens when everyone is having a good time. The food was wonderfully memorable - that slice of cake could have served 3! We had a very good day, and it started at Atwood.
Somewhat limited menu with outstanding quality and service!
The food was quite good. The service was extremely slow. Our waitress explained that a private party was causing a problem with getting the food out on time. When our meal finally arrived, my vegetable was missing and showed up when we were almost finished. There was absolutely no apology or even a visit from the manager. I have dined here before, but not experienced such poor customer service.
Lovely location and very friendly and professional staff. Food was fine, yet not excellent. The steak, in particular, was tough and nothing was truly outstanding.
Best salmon I’ve ever had... Better than the Signature Room by far
Atwood ... always perfect!
Beautiful meal in historic and beautiful Chicago landmark. Met out of town family for dinner after the theater and enjoyed it very much. I was thankful for the delicious vegan option.
I love this beautiful space and the food is very good. Lots of light makes it a great spot for lunch. During the summer you can sit outside. The waitstaff is nice, though our waiter seemed a bit patronizing. Also, he messed up one order (asked for salad, but got fries). Not a big deal and not something that would deter me from recommending this restaurant.
Great restaurant. Perfect if you are headed to the theater.
The food is really pedestrian. Please do better. It doesn't make sense to make mac n cheese and tater tots as 2 main courses offered.
Atwood is a great location for business lunches. The only issue that we had was that there was someone with a gluten intolerance in our group and her options were extremely limited.
While the food was excellent and a real value with their restaurant week special in effect, the service was not very good. We were served the wrong dessert (an apple dish instead of pumpkin) and we were not offered a chance to order coffee. We were there on a Sunday night after a snowy weekend and the restaurant was not very busy. Therefore, I did not appreciate that most diners were herded into a cluster of tables that were quite close together, leaving most of the restaurant deserted.
