The food is always fabulous; however, the desserts often disappoint. My last visit reminded me to enjoy an after meal Irish coffee or cheese board and skip the sweets entirely.

i had gone to Atwood many times under the previous management.
The updated decor is nice.
Great options on the new menu but most of it was just ok. The mushroom risotto was very bland, the mahimahi was overcooked but tasted good. The flatbread and roasted brussel sprouts were very good. Great mixed drink list, we all tried different types and liked them all, except a little pricey for the size of the glass. Our server and support staff were wonderful!!
I love the location and maybe next time will come for drinks and appetizers

I have had bad meals before, but never before an experience where dinner went completely missing. Yesterday I attempted to dine at Atwood before a long-awaited theater reservation, party of 6. I told staff the day before that we had a curtain to make, and they promised to note this. When we arrived I reiterated to the maître-d and the waitress that we had a curtain to make - we were assured with an hour and 45 minutes that we would have plenty of time and had no reason to doubt this. Drink and food orders were taken within 10 minutes of arriving and over an hour and a half before curtain. About 40 minutes before curtain, we started to grow concerned about our missing food, but were assured it was minutes away. 15 minutes before curtain - well over an hour after ordering and with no food in sight -- we had to leave to make the show, angry and very hungry. I have left a message for the manager to complain and am waiting for a return call, but I can only wonder what the meal would have been like. If you have theater tickets in the area, I strongly suggest you go somewhere else until Atwood fixes whatever problems they had in their kitchen last night.

Way too small! Too noisy! Horrible menu. I ordered the pumpkin soup and it was waaay to spicey!! I asked for bread of some kind. The server said I had to buy my bread off the menu. $6 is nothing, but when the bread came it was 3 huge logs of focaccia. Wasn't good. My friend ordered the crab cakes and didn't care for them either. We each ordered wine and when it came, I asked her if she was certain that mine was the Pinot Grigio and my friend's was Chardonnay. They were not she got them confused. I sent my soup back. Not good!!

The lovely Atwood restaurant underwent an expensive makeover but can't afford a real chef now! I went to the Atwood for a business lunch and was served pale, white risotto and a salmon Caesar salad so anemic - I didn't know it was food on my plate. The salmon was definitely canned fish and was spread around processed leaves of romaine lettuce and really stale, boxed croutons. I can do better at the salad bar around the corner! My colleague had a risotto that looked like rice and creamed milk with flecks of mushroom. It was truly sad given the quality dishes that the Atwood used to serve. It felt like 2 steps above a fast food salad. If you're desperate, this will pass for the area but recommend going to Trattoria No. 10 for an exceptional, fine dining lunch experience.

This is a favorite restaurant, which I have valued for their skill at layering wonderful flavors. Tonight was an odd night off. The pumpkin soup lacked flavor. The beautifully thick pork chop had to be sent back because it was mostly raw. They did cook another one from scratch, which was well done. They did apply a discount to this dish, but the delay at waiting for the replacement plate caused me to be eat my entrée after my husband had finished his. He had to wait for his dessert course until I was ready for it. All this meant that we were rushed in order to get to our event on time.

The portions were generous, maybe too generous. I'm not sure I would go back, maybe just for a cocktail at the bar. The food was good but too rich for us. The couple next to us ordered telling the waitress they needed to get to a play. She assured them it was all good but they never got their food and left without eating - with a play to go to in 10 minutes. That was bad. They kept asking about their meals too. They didn't order cocktails, just food. That scares me for the future.

I ordered a 1/2 bottle of wine. Waitress emptied the bottle on the first serving. Cheese plate was great but, soup came before we could finish cheese plate. Waitress removed the soup and brought it back about 30 minutes later. Soup was cold. Waited another 30 minutes for final items that were cold.
Never again.

We found Atwood in a Chicago Tribune article about where to eat if you are going to see Hamilton.
Food was great-- bartenders terrific my Rob Roy was very good.
Our server for dinner was Craig, extremely courteous and very helpful.
Cheese cake was large enough for 3 and quite good.

The food could not be more delicious. Fresh ingredients prepared perfectly and with some unique flavors. The service did not live up to the food and the beautiful surroundings. When we sat down, we advised our server that we were going to the theater. The food took forever and we could not find our server. We inquired of the host and had our food right away. Even after that, we had to go to the host to get our check. He is the one who deserved the tip. So many things done right, but just a few that need improvement.

Dinner Saturday night was a wonderful experience. The Atwood took great care of us from the reservation through dinner and dessert. Food was creative and delicious. My only issue is minor, the tables feel too crowded together. I felt just a bit claustrophobic. The service was amazing, and made our evening very special

It’s telling when our reaction on receiving the dessert menu was “while they sound good, I can’t handle another disappointment tonight.” That’s the only way really to describe the meal we had. The service was great. Cocktails were good too. But the food, which was great on paper, severely under delivered. It was as if someone download the menu from another restaurant online and attempted to make it without a recipe, just from the description. We had the salmon and the pork belly. Pork belly is generally one of my favorite dishes with a melt in your mouth sort of glutinous pleasure. This one was so over cooked it was tough. The seared side was dried out so much that trying to cut through it instead made my plate slide across the table. My partner’s salmon was so lackluster that he only ate a third. We were seeing a show that night so didn’t want to send it back for the time it would take (we arrived with two hours before the show so we’d have a leisurely time for dinner. The drinks and cheese plate were indeed leisurely, but the dinner was just bad.

This is my 2nd time at Atwood and the most recent time, I came here with my team at work for dinner. The good things first. The service from our server was great; she made it really personalized and we liked her. The drinks have been awesome both times I have been here.

Unfortunately where it fell flat for me both times was the food. Both times, I ordered the cacio e pepe and it was severely under-seasoned. Our table also ordered the risotto, the chicken and the pork belly and according to everyone, the food was quite poor. The only ones that were good were the chicken.

Sad to say I will not be returning to Atwood for food but if you are up for nice cocktails after work, this place will do.
