Atwater on Gore Creek is located in the beautiful Vail Cascade Condominiums. Enjoy the mountain creek view with a morning coffee while dining on the Brioche French toast or house cured salmon lox. Stop by after a long day of skiing or just bring the family out to dinner. Start out by dining on warm skillet Focaccia bread that is baked fresh daily and topped with churned honey butter or Colorado peach jam. Warm up with a bowl of roasted butternut squash soup or the smoked pheasant soup. Atwater suggests beer pairing for all the main dishes and offers a full bar so that you are sure to have the perfect drink along with the meal.
Atwater is very health conscious and takes great care for patrons with food allergies. It accommodates those with gluten intolerance or food allergies such as seafood or nuts. Vegan and vegetarian dishes are available.
Enjoyed ambiance, burgers, appetizers and bison ribeye. Pizza mediocre at best.
They will be closing in Aril for major renovation
We had a delicious and wonderful dining experience. It started out right with free valet parking and then we were seated at a table with a wonderful view. The service was exceptional, and we really appreciated all the suggestions. The food was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. This turned out to be a memorable dinner for me and my family. We will be back!
Not a fan of the restaurant. Breakfast was no better than dinner. Staff didn't have a clue.
This place was great. More than a little on the pricey side, but not for a great restaurant in Vail. The Bison Tomahawk Ribeye was incredible.
An interesting menu ranging from complex to quick and easy items including some pizzas. You can find something for everyone. Made a big deal about their Kobe steak so I gave it a try, but thought it was undistinguished and certainly less tasty than a good rib-eye or strip steak. Service was a bit slow and waiter seemed to be handling too many table to keep up.
Excellent food and service! Pork shank was amazing and very large portion. Josh was great
Pork shank was outstanding. If you stay at Cascade Village, you need to have a meal or two here.
Not only was the food as delicious as people say...but the whole experience was amazing thanks to our wonderful server Josh- he made the entire evening one to remember and we're grateful for all he and the Atwater staff did to make our evening!
There's a few different areas to sit in. Up front which is a bit noisy from the bar with booths but the music was good. Then there's a room off to the side, quieter a bit more intimate. And then the larger room in the back. We were up front with a reservation but never requested a particular place. When we were seated we asked to be in other rooms but they declined, even with open tables and a reservation from this site. Therefore the ambiance wasn't as nice as I would have liked for the cost.
The food at Atwater is consistenly delicious but the service has varied greatly. The service during our most recent visit needed improvement! The server seemed so hurried that she did not actually listen to what was being ordered so one drink and one dinner had to be sent back because she got the order wrong. Once dinner was served the server disappeared. We had to grab another server and ask for our bill and to go containers.
Nice place off the lobby of a hotel. Food was good, service good, but we got a special pricing surprise off a nightly special. It was outrageously expensive and was not mentioned before. Turned a good thing sour.
We have dined here in the past. There have been quite a few menu changes over the years. The food is good with a variety of styles and flavors. My husband had the salmon which was served with polenta. The polenta was rather hard. I had a butternut squash spinach salad for an entree which was a nice mixture of tastes and texture. Another in our party had the pork shank and another the strip steak. Everything was well prepared. Our service was alright, but considering that the restaurant was almost empty, it was not impressive. There is an extensive beer list. When asked if the tap list above the bar was accurate, our waitress said it was. After we placed our drink order, she said that the beer we wanted wasn't on tap. We were never offered dessert. You can take a shuttle to the restaurant from Lionshead Village that will take you to the Cascade resort.
Very large space, close parking free (unusual for Vail). Not very busy so we were a little concerned when we were seated, but food was surprisingly good. Sandwiches and apps reasonably priced, entrees a little pricey but prepared as we ordered it, sauce and sides very good, not just generic hotel fare. Would be a good place if you had a family where some wanted basic and some wanted a more upscale meal.
Very convenient for those staying at the Cascade Vail-- with a great atmosphere, very good food, and wonderful service!
Enjoyed our dinner. A little pricey
The steak grilled cheese is to die for. My husbands food is wonderful as well. I think this restaurant only gets 4 stars as it is in an older hotel so you loose some atmosphere. I'd go back for the food.
Great food. Had hummus, squash soup, BLT salad, and pork shank. Each part was fantastic. Pork was giant! So worth every dollar. Josh the server and his new sidekick were awesome.
Went for Sunday brunch. Service was very good. Food was good, the buffet was laid out well with lots of options. Very kid friendly.
Service was outstanding, very knowledgeable about the menu and additional specials, very kid friendly as well. Food was very good, kids Mac and cheese was homemade, not that boxed stuff you get at some restaurants. I ordered the Kobe beef, very tasty and cooked to my liking.
Went here with my girlfriend on our little get away and everything about it was amazing! Especially their Colorado Kobe. The server was very professional and helpful with picking out items since this was my girlfriend and my first time there. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody and I will definitely go back myself.
The wait was 45 min even though there were at least 30 tables open. The Hostess and manager were very rude when explaining why we had to wait. They said they had a big rush before we got there but clearly was a lie . They were just very understaffed.
Dined here our first night at Vail Cascade. Traditional pub food - burgers, sandwiches, pizza. Limited items were able to be used on the 3 course dinner for $39 so that we did not utilize that option. The burger was good. Ate here for a late breakfast the following morning. The staff couldn't wait to close up. I had to ask for some of the buffet items to be replenished.
Our waiter kept disappearing on us meaning that we waited over an hour for each course and we finally had to order our included dessert course with the hostess. There was a soccer tournament going on near the hotel so I can't blame them too much but it was still a little annoying having little kids running around in swim suits while we're trying to have a nice dinner, and the staff did nothing to stop them.
Food was outstanding, but no rolls/bread included (had to pay for focaccia bread, which was good). We arrived early on a Monday evening, so this may be why the restaurant was fairly empty. Sat outside by the flowing Gore Creek (great sounds) and large fire pits (terrific ambience). Received personalized service and food was excellent. The very large bar area (far enough away not to hear) was really hopping. We've heard a developer has recently bought this upscale resort in Vail Cascade Village and is planning major renovations. Hope they don't change the menu!
Our waiter, Josh, went way out of his way to take care of our dining experience.
Went for an anniversary dinner, they treated us like royalty. From a Happy Anniversary glass of champagne on the house, to the chef coming out from the kitchen to offer some vegan specialties to my wife, to perfect timing on table visits to make sure everything was OK. Food was lovely and delicious, but the overall experience was hard to beat. The ambiance would be softened with a few flowers at the table, but that's a tiny quibble. They even brought us a big plate of sorbet (again, on the house) for dessert.
TERRIBLE service, food was fair. We waited well over an hour for food to be delivered after we ordered. The restaurant only had a few tables, so there was no reason for poor service except it is a poorly run restaurant!! Big disappointment!
The food was exceptional! The chef could have been on the show Chopped! The service was excellent as well. The ambience needs a little refreshing. Need to do a better job on getting the restaurant ready for dinner.
Service was polite but inattentive. The food was really poor. Charcuterie plate included hard salami you could buy at any super market deli. My kids would have loved it, but I was looking for something a bit more upscale. I had the beef ribs. Finding meat on the boneswas a considerable challenge. The slaw was tasteless. The greens so sour that they really weren't edible. Mac and cheese was several steps up from Kraft dinner and the best thing on the plate by default.
My wife had the Kobe steak. It was cooked appropriately but accompanied by vegetables that had the consistency marking previously frozen.
It was the most expensive terrible meal I've had.
Located in vail cascade resort. Sat outside on th patio, beautiful view of the creek and mountain with houses on the mountain..
Food is good we ordered pizza mussels and tiramisu and a bottle of wine, nothing was bad.
Server was new but he passed his test a day before and did a good job.
Would go there again.
We have had this on our 'to go to' list for quite some time now, and since we were staying across the street we saw the opportunity to go and made a quick reservation. We were not disappointed. Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, and while we were there they were having a 3 course special that was really very good.
Nice bar area while you wait if you need to, and right off the main drag in the Village.
My husband and I found ourselves talking about dinner days afterwards. The food was fabulous, and we appreciated having a kid's menu that was affordable and sophisticated. Our waitress, Bridget, was lovely and accommodated my gluten-free requests.
Nice place as great food... The people were very nice and friendly!
Despite the restaurant's description as a craft brewery haven we were steered heavily towards the wine list. We ignored this push and had a delightful beercentric meal. We enjoyed duck breast and were served promptly. The waiter's suggestions were perfect including an off the menu dessert of framboise lambic over vanilla ice cream. What more could you ask for than a beer float!
We had some very unique items that were delicious. The shrimp corn dogs were great and the service was excellent. Even the seafood fettuccini was fresh and flavorful! Be sure to try the focaccia bread as a starter.
Outstanding dining experience! The food is masterfully prepared and presented. Quality dining at its best!
Our entrees were delicious. The Caesar salad and butternut squash soup however were lacking. Sever seemed knowledgeable which was nice. Wine by bottle was lacking a little but we did end up finding a bottle that suited our needs. Overall a pleasant experience.
Aleatory has always been one of our favorites and just keeps getting better and better
Scott our server was excellent, very friendly and responsive. Food was excellent
