   My husband and I stayed at the Conrad and decided to have breakfast at ATRIO. We normally just buy croissants with our Hilton credit and hit the road. The food (omelette, avocado toast, juice) is fresh and tasty, but it is pricey given the portions served because I was still hungry after lol. It was great for our lazy weekend in NYC.

   What makes this place is the staff. Friendly, professional and attentive, the host and server were top notch. Food was tasty & we sat in a quieter area w/ nice ambiance. The bar gets loud so if you’re looking for quiet, just ask to be seated at the opposite end of the dining room. I’m sure the lovely folks there will take care of you.

   It took an extremely long time for us to place and receive our order, from our cocktails, to our appetizers to our dinner. Everything was extremely slow. The food was good, which made up for some of this.

   Decided to not brace the cold weather and eat dinner at our hotel, the Conrad New York Downtown.. Previous visits found the ambience of the restaurant for breakfast and lunch with fare matching the exquisite atmosphere and service … outstanding, which is why we embrace this hotel chain. Regarding dinner, …new experience. Not sure how to rate. My wife had a delicious chicken dinner. Five stars to the chef. Anyway I was not so fortunate with my meal. . I ordered a shrimp cocktail. Should have returned it. Five jumbo shrimp were not icy cold. Probably they were thawed quickly under hot water. They were deveined, but not thoroughly trimmed. (22$). Had the ribeye steak ($74). Ordered medium rare. It was served at the correct temperature… but 3 bites in … couldn’t handle all the grizzle. Returned it. Ordered their signature burger .. medium rare. It was served medium. Should have just shut up and ate it … but at $29…. I returned it. The next burger was served well done. I refused it and just asked for the bill. Kudos to Carlos our server who was very professional. Apologized profusely for the kitchen. But not his fault. But … My ratings may be misleading. My wife’s meal was outstanding 5 star. Mine was a 1 star at best. So. Explains the 3 stars. I will return to this hotel. Everything a luxury hotel should be. But will eat dinner at any of the fine dining restaurants nearby. An hour after dinner, I ate across the street at Del Friscos grill. My hamburger was cooked to perfection and delicious. Yes pricey. But it was delicious..

   Enjoyed the Harvest salad. Service was good and the tables near the bar at lunch were well spaced for keeping noise down.

   Waiter was not attentive. Kids at a nearby table were really loud. Food was ok, not great.

   Elegant place with a varied menu. Great choices of wine by the glass. Get the chocolate cake for dessert. Everyone at our table loved the food.

    Let me start with saying that the food is absolutely amazing however this place locks in ambiance. It feels like a diner. I would not recommend it for a date night out. It is more of a hotel family dining experience.
