Atlantica at the Allegria Ratings and Reviews
I greatly enjoyed both the food and the ambience. The short ribs were amazing! I could eat them for the rest of my life. I also enjoyed the parsnip mashed potatoes. The collard greens could have been cooked a little more, but all in all an excellent dining experience. I look forward to eating there again.
We dined on a Monday night and it was not crowded at all. My neighbor and I are foodies and love to try new places. Have been to the hotel for other events but, never to the restaurant. Our server, John was very helpful in suggesting certain menu options and answered all of our questions. His service was excellent!! We both had a fish dish and it was excellent! Only con I can think of is, my bread pudding could have been a bit warmer when served. It became cold very quickly and I didn't finish it.
As locals, we had wanted to try this restaurant but didn't seem to get around to it. The restaurant week was the impetus, so it obviously worked as a way to introduce new customers to restaurants. We enjoyed it very much and will definitely be back. The service was especially wonderful. Beautiful place and really good food and easy to try with the special menu. Their brunch sounds amazing for special occasions.
We have been to Atlantica many times and always enjoy the spectacular Decor and the amazing View of the Boardwalk/Beach/Ocean..We had an early Dinner Reservation and got to see an amazing Sunset! It was Restaurant Week and the choices on the Prix Fixed Menu were perfect for everyone..This is a favorite Destination Restaurant for me!
We did not enjoy our dining experience here. Food poorly prepared, tasteless and cold when served and it was hard to get our servers attention. When we did, it took forever to have the dishes corrected. It felt like a banquet hall despite the chic upscale decor because of the dining area layout and acoustics. The bar area was lively and fun. Would be great location for an event party interested in cocktails and entertainment only. Beautifully located on the water with a great view of the ocean. This is definitely not a fine dining establishment. Sincerely hope they pay more attention to improving the food quality and service.
I loved the restaurant and Sunday brunch was very nice. I enjoyed the delicious food and the view of the ocean. With that said, however, the service was very, very poor. When we first arrived, our waitress served us our mamosas and then we NEVER saw her again. I finally had to motion to a busboy to remove the used dishes so that we could go back to the buffet for dessert. We never did get our cup of coffee and finally, we had to waive to the manager to get our bill. Thinking about the experience, it still bothers me that my guests and I did not get to have our coffee which was included in the price of the Sunday brunch.
Everyone in my party of 4 loved their experience at Atlantica. The hotel is very posh and seems to get a good wedding crowd on the weekends. We arrived and were promptly sat in a very nice spot close to the boardwalk (I image they have the tall windows open during the summer months so that you can smell the salty air and see the shore. The food was delicious and the warm rolls were a treat. They have a few bottles of wine that are very economical at $30 and others that are pricier. We would definitely come back and travel from NYC.
We went to Atlantica for our 37th wedding anniversary. Everything was wonderful. The restaurant wasn't crowded when we first arrived and our server was extremely attentive and sweet. The food was great from beginning to end, but a little salty. We were so stuffed we took home our Cornbread/Blueberry Bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and enjoyed it at home. My only suggestion would be to put the ice cream separately next time, as it melted before we got it home. I would recommend this restaurant whole heartedly. I don't know how it is when it is crowded, as we went on a Wednesday evening during Rosh Hashannah, but I will certainly be back. The price fixed meal was wonderful!!! Very beautiful bar and restaurant. Nice ocean view.
Great food... Eclectic menu, I had the mako shark.... It was delicious... The restaurant was a little cold, not in temperature, in ambiance. It could use a little beach flare... Maybe some Tommy Bahama ceiling fans, just a little something to break up all of the white
My boyfriend and I purchased a travelzoo gift card to the Allegria hotel, which included a $100 credit for food and beverage, so we decided to eat here for dinner. I read the reviews prior to going so my expectations weren't that great, but perhaps the restaurant read some of the former reviews since our food experience was just superb! The waitress was super nice, and not to mention, the food was amazing. The serving size was good too; I was definitely expecting much smaller serving sizes. My boyfriend and I picked the pre-fixed menu, which had more than enough selections in my opinion; even the desserts was not limited. We could pick anything we want from the dessert menu! I would recommend to pick a seafood entree as the restaurant.
When we were seated, we were not given a wine list. After 10 minutes, the waitress came over and asked if we were ready to order, but never took our drink order. Our water glasses were not refilled, until we asked 3 times. The boulliabaisse was overcooked and the sea scallops were bland.
Maybe this was a one-off but the waitress just disappeared for our entire meal. She didn't come by to see if we wanted another glass of wine or anything else. Definitely over an hour had gone by since we finished our entrees and finally the other waiter let her know we wanted the check because we looked stranded. Food was delicious. I rated Service "Fair" and not "Poor" because the busboys/support staff were very nice and the waitress when we had seen her at the beginning of dinner was pleasant enough.
This is my fourth time eating at The Atlantica, this restaurant is a total gem in Long Beach's beautiful boardwalk. The food is excellent, fresh, plated beautifully, and the waitstaff service is very good. Everytime I have company, I always bring them here, to experience the fine food, and to be able to look out at the ocean and have a relaxing brunch or dinner. Kudos to you Atlantica for make such a fine upscale restaurant in Long Beach.
The service was very slow! My peppercorn steak had so much peppercorn that I could barely eat it (and of course it was the most expensive thing on the menu) the Salmon my boyfriend had was okay nothing spectacular. The worst part was that we sat with our finished plates in front of us for a good 20 minutes. Someone finally came to get them when I stacked all the plates an pushed it to the edge of the table! For the price the food was no where near what it should be. The only saving grace was that we could see the ocean, and could enjoy the longue for drinks when we were done. I would not go back or recommend it to any of my friends.
We went to the restaurant to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. The service was horrible. Beside one other couple we were the only people at the bar, and 2 bartenders passed my empty glasses for over 5 minutes before I got a 3rd bartenders attention. They had no personality at all, they acted like they didn't want to be there. We were seated for dinner, the restaurant was barely half full, but we sat for close to 10 minutes without a wait staff coming over. Thats when we walked out. It may be an expensive place but it completely lacks class. We've received more attention service at bars/restaurants in the West End.
The female hostesses should lose their tudes ! as well as comb their coiffs.I had requested, early in week, via phone and e mail, a window near the boardwalk wall. Our guests were ex long beachers, visiting their old area. Clearly no accomomations was made to honor our request since ALL the table by the window were for two's. So the storyof whomever arrived first and reserved that table received it.. A table for 7 would have had to be set up. When we arrived on time 7 pm the place was emply!! and as aforementioned, only tables of 2 were by the time.OUR WAITER ''MANNY" ( THINK_ ON THE BALL, PROFESSIONAL AND ANXIOUS TO PLEASE. HE MADE THE EVENING. NO REQUEST WAS TOO MUCH FOR HIM. HE MADE OUR EVENING PLEASANT AS A SERVER SHOULD.JE
I am please to say that the service was much better than when I had been there before. Staff was very helpful, friendly and much more efficient. Our appetizer was accompanied by our wine and there was sufficient time between courses. The asparagus spinach bisque was bland and watery but the lobster bisque was delightful. I was disappointed to find that the wine list did not offer many whites below $50. All in all I would recommend it to a friend with a warning about their inconsistency. Still can't beat the view!
Atlantica has spectacular ocean views and an elegant decor. Drinks were filled with ice and weak. Rolls were reheated and burned. There is a tasting menu which was a good value - $35 for appetizer, entree and dessert. Otherwise, the prices were high. My bouillabaisse was overdone but had a nice sauce and garlic toast. Duck, quail and braised ribs were very good. Servers were young, inexperienced and slow. There is a $15 valet parking fee to add in to the cost. After dinner, we wanted to go to the roof top and see what it was like. When we got off the elevator, we were greeted by a young lady who wanted $10 apiece. Since we just spent over $200, we should have been allowed to look. I was disappointed - it could be so much more
We were a bit on the disappointed side. For an upscale restaurant with a beautiful view, we were told they would try to seat us by a window seat, knowing in fact that there were 5 people in our party.........they do not accomodate 5 people at window seats. Where they put us, was extremely tight so we asked to move. The service, although friendly, was terrible...........forgot bread after we asked for it, we needed to ask them for our drinks (our first drinks) and continuously remind them to serve. I would not recommend this restaurant and would deter anyone from making reservations there. It was pricey ($291.00 bill) and for that price one expects excellent service............not a good pick.
The service was terrible. We had to ask for water three times to three different employees. Our food arrived and once again we had to ask for salt and pepper and waited 20 minutes for someone to tell someone that we need salt and pepper. When we first arrived we sat in the lounge area and ordered a drink from the waitress. That took half an hour to get. I dont really understand. I saw two bartenders just sitting there talking to eachother and not doing there job. As for the dining staff same goes here it must be a theme for this place to ignore there customers. A gentlemen behind us actually got up and got the salt and pepper shakers himself. It seems that the wait staff only wants to take your orders and that is it.
With vistas open to the Atlantic, everything about dining at the Allegria suggests a mini Hampton vibe. And in some ways it is: the view on to the ocean is spectacular, the decor is hip modern; it can be a tad noisy, however. A recent visit found the special menu already " out" of one of the three offerings by seven o'clock, a disappointment. The salmon was cooked to perfection and is an excellent choice. Scallops were equally delicious. All in all, memorable for its views, a kind wait staff and good food.
