Best thing about Atlantica is the ocean view
Unfortunately the food quslity and menu choices leave alot to be desired. Do not order the caesar salaf unkess you like bottled mayonaise dressing. Would likecto send tge chef my authentic recipe. I will continue to go because i love the setting.
We went for brunch for my birthday with a reservation. The food was great, my only complaint is that we were seated my the hostess and sat at least 15 mins before anyone came over. Even then, it was just the bus guy giving us water. It wasn't until the bus guy came around again that we asked for a waiter and someone came over to explain to us how it works and took a drink order. And the restaurant was slow at the time, only a few tables. Once we got things started, service was great and the food was good...but had it been any other restaurant (without the water view),I would have just walked out waiting for someone to acknowledge us and give us menus. Glad we gave them a chance though!
Friday evening Dinner with a special friend & her companion & my husband & I. Have been to the Atlantica a few times & love the décor, service & food. We had salads, Crab cake, shrimp to start & entrees included Filet Mignons, Chop, Swordfish. All were good except that I requested by Filet cooked Medium Rare & it was Medium to well; I did not send it back since it was 10:00 PM & I was hungry.
We had dessert & after Dinner drinks at the Bar. Overall, a pleasant dinner, good Service & I would definitely recommend to other diners.
(Repeating from Trip Advisor) Went for a Sunday brunch. Little misinformation re menu availability, but the staff handled the problem graciously and generously. Special mention of Kimberley, manager, and Ren, our wonderful server. Wayne on bus duty was also very friendly and warm. Really everybody we interacted with was gracious and helpful, from the valet parkers (get your stub authorized and its free) to the wait staff and management. Food was okay; hey, it's a brunch. But it was good, fairly healthy, and attractive. The view was great, and the ambience was super. Enjoy!
First off there was only one valet person. He did not tell us about the$15 fee.
Next long wait for drink order and mistake was made to order.
The restaurant was very empty so no excuse for poor service. I felt the experience was just unprofessional in such a terrific setting. I felt rushed by the help to clear the table. Cost was $120-145 a couple. Split app 2 entries and 2 cocktails 2 glasses of wine. Service needs to be improved. Our crab cake appetizer arrived cool so it must have sat around for a while. Swordfish was good but not remarkable.
When I went to get valet ticket validated l said it would have been nice to know about the $15 fee beforehand because there was street parking available this night. They waved the fee thankfully.
The last owner went bankrupt and this new owner has a lot of work to do. Good service is most important I feel. It's much easier to replace the chef but poor service will have me question my return. Hope this helped.
Very disappointed. $160 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Very small variety for price. The 15% mandatory gratuity for a buffet where I saw the waiter once the entire hour had me fuming. We had never been there so we arrived 15 minutes early. We stood around like fools in the bar area because we didn't know where to go. Not one employee ever asked if we needed help.
The staff was very accommodating to our request to have a table with a view of the ocean. The server was very friendly and provided food recommendations. The portions were adequate to small however, the ambiance made up for the smaller portions. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice restaurant with a scenic view.
Atlantica at the Alegria is all about the view. Get a table by the windows and you have an expansive view of the Atlantic interrupted only by bicyclists, walkers, and sunbathers using the newly reconstructed boardwalk. Long Beach is one of NY's most famous beach towns with lots and lots of people enjoying the sun and surf. If you're not a beach person, and I am not, then the next best thing is a boardwalk/ocean view from the Atlantica at the Alegria.
My husband and I love coming to this restaurant because the views are so amazing and the food is always good! Unfortunately, this visit wasn't that great. The food was okay. I ordered the scallops (which portion-size wise is comparable to an appetizer). I was so hungry after we left. My husband ordered the lamb chops which are NOT worth the price. The lamb was pretty fatty and other than a couple of bites not much of it was edible. Over the years the menu has really changed. I get that people are health conscious but to still charge ridiculous prices for such small portions is disappointing. The service was also mediocre. Our waiter wasn't attentive, I wrote in the reservation that it was our wedding anniversary and no one took the time to say anything to us. We frequent the Atlantica at the Allegria for special occasions but I hate to say that this may be our last time visiting.
The Atlantica is all about Ambience. The service was impeccable but the food was underwhelming. We went for lunch- we had crab cake sliders which were decent but had too much breading. My friend ordered the Mediterranean salad that had wilted lettuce and looked nothing of a typical salad never mind one with Mediterranean flare. We both ordered the salmon, although tasty, for over $20 one would expect a more substantial side than 4 pieces of asparagus- at least the salmon was a healthy piece. The dessert selection was embarrassing for a place of this caliber. However, eating overlooking the ocean and then walking on the board walk were wonderful. So, don't go for the food, go for the beautiful scenery both inside and outside the restaurant.
We are regulars at the Londa Bar where I have provided them high ratings through trip advisor.
Our experience however at the Resturant was totally different.
Our server Kaylee was horrible. We needed to track her down. We found her at the bar, chatting with staff while we were in the Resturant waiting for drink service. We finally asked Oscar to serve us, which he happily accommodated.
The Sunday brunch was a basic buffet which was $50.00 per person. With this, we were disappointed that there were no serving stations but would have been fine if the service wasn't so poor.
I don't understand how service could be so poor when all Kaylee needed to do was take drink orders. The other serves seemed to have no issues serving their tables.
With this, and $179.00 later, we left part of Kaylee's 20% tip for Oscar.
We will not attend Sunday brunch there until things change.
I would appreciate a response from management regarding this bad experience and how the staff and service at The Londa Bar and what appeared to be good service by other staff in the Resturant could be so far off with one staff member.
After attending an awesome Sunday brunch on New Year's Day 2017, I brought my friends back for a very disappointing Sunday brunch on April 30, 2017. Instead of being able to order off their very nice brunch menu, they are now doing a small buffet. All the entrees, although interesting, were completely overcooked and very dry. The only items worth eating were the desserts, which we were told were not made at the hotel. And at $50 a plate with a 15% gratuity added to the bill, you would have thought that the food would have been upscale and well prepared. So very disappointing. The view is awesome, and the restaurant is beautiful, but when it comes down to it you are paying to eat and this was just terrible.
So much potential but so much that misses. No flow to the menu. Do we really need crabcakes to be sliders? Ordered a chicken polenta panzanella..........got a chicken cutlet grilled with a bunch of arugula on top! Short rib burger is totally ground beef............a big swing and a miss. Oh and the bread came out after the entrée plates were cleared.
We went to the Allegra for Easter brunch. Not expecting great food from a hotel dining room and especially at a buffet --the food was surprising good. the staff was very pleasant and friendly. It was our first time time at this hotel restaurant and we had a great table with a view of the ocean. It was a sunny day and the water was sparkling blue. They had a piano player and singer and an Easter bunny who came around to give out candy and take pictures. The atmosphere was fun and lively. Only negative was price. It was definitely pricey. Over 500 for brunch for 7 people. The bill also included a 18 percent gratuity in the bill. It's confusing. Do you tip on top of that. We left another 20 for our waitress. Would definitely go back.
Can't beat the view and ambiance. It is just lovely looking out at the boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean. The brunch had a nice variety of food. The flank steak was overdone, and the salmon lacked flavor. We were warmly greeted. and our wait service was attentive, polite and friendly.
Will try it again, because we were told the brunch menu changes weekly.
