Atlantic Seafood Company Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Atlantic Seafood on many occasions and have always enjoyed the food and service. Its has been about 6 months since our last visit to the restaurant, and while the food is basically very good, the portions have been drastically reduced and the prices have gone up somewhat.
Last night ( 1/13/18) we sat down and we waited about 10 minutes before anyone showed up to wait on us. We ordered our drinks and a few minutes thereafter, we ordered our meals. 45 - 50 minutes went by and no food. I flagged down the manager and explained the situation to him and received no apology from him other than "he will check on our meal". About 10 minutes after that, our meal showed up. I had grilled tuna which I like it to be semi well done . My wife ordered Grouper which when it came, looked like something that was hand made and compressed into an unusual shape. Our meals were not up to par. Something was different. We had desert (the standard Crème brulle) , got our check, notice that a cup of chowder and the desert were taken off.
Personally speaking, I think because of the lousy service with no excuses, I think at the very least, one of the meals should have been taken off instead of nickel & diming the other two items.
If this is the new version of Atlantic Seafood's service and menu, then the chances of returning are going to be stretched out further. We just didn't feel like we received the very good service that we were used to receiving on past visits.
Always a good choice. Very fresh seafood. Sides and appetizers are very good, too. Have been going regularly for over 10 years, and the service has gotten better and better. Management listens to customers requests and updates the menu accordingly. The restaurant is large, but I've never seen service suffer, even when very busy.
Went New Year’s Eve and many items on their online menu were not available. Also, all the prices were increased from their posted menu. Have been coming here for 6 years and found this to be a bit disappointing. We advised our server, Sade (who was absolutely amazing, btw), and she spoke to the manager standing a few steps away from our table. In my opinion, the manager should have walked over and apologized personally instead of walking away. Also disappointing.
Went for dinner who was visiting for the holidays from San Francisco. One of the absolute best meals we have ever had. She had the miso chilean sea bass and raved about it. My husband and fried grouper an loved it. I also had chilean sea bass that was grilled. Our server was Marvie and she was outstanding in every way. Very menu knowledgeable, personable and attentive.
We will definitely be back and recommend this restaurant to our friends. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
There were 7 in our party and those that did not have sushi were happy with their meals. Unfortunately, my Wife and I broke our rule and had sushi on a Tuesday and were unpleasantly surprised later in the evening after we got home. The fish in the chirashi dish was not fresh as well as the fish in my rolls, however, the nigiri pieces (salmon, yellowtail and toro) were excellent. Some of the fish on display in the cabinet also looked a little ragged.
To sum it up:
--Service was biggley excellent
--Cooked fish dishes were all eaten with glee
--sashimi and rolls had fish that was Tuesday old and we paid for it later that night.
--we would consider returning on a Friday or Saturday
We love this restaurant. It's our family tradition to eat there on Christmas Eve. The food is excellent, and the service is always top notch. We love the filet, the shrimp and grits, the market fish...really everything. We haven't found anything we didn't love. New to me this year was the chocolate mousse pudding. It really was more of a chocolate pots de creme and it was divine. We were in a side room this year, due to the size of our party, and I really prefer the main room. The decor and ambience is so much better.
The food and the service were a little off for Christmas Eve. My swordfish was cooked more to the tenderness level of chicken and the breading was falling off of my husband’s fried shrimp. My son’s chicken fingers were well-done, also. It seemed to take awhile to order and our server didn’t stop back by to ask how the food was. We’ll try it again, but I expect more when the entrees are $30+, even if it is a busy holiday.
Our server was REALLY great and attentive. Food was so tasty! Only reason I didn’t put a 5 star next to food was the value/taste of the mixed broil. Great pics of seafood but somewhat lacked in flavor/seasoning - BUT they ordered it without the beurre blanc so that could have A LOT to do with it. Chicken spring rolls were delish as well for an app. Overall, great Xmas lunch!!!
Everything that we had was fantastic except for the Chipotle Mashed Potatoes because they were room temperature. We had the iceberg wedge salad, clam chowder, bbq salmon, swordfish bearnaise, & a california sushi roll and it was all delicious. Will definitely return.
We had an outstanding dinner the night before at a different restaurant while celebrating our anniversary. Everyone there wished us a happy anniversary, made us feel so special, they gave us a free dessert and 2 glasses of champagne. It was wonderful. We thought we were going to have plans on our actual anniversary (this day) and they fell through so we thought we would go to Atlantic seafood company, after all, we love the soy-honey sea bass. I booked on open table, said it was our anniversary, and yet not one person mentioned it there, it was a very anticlimatic night. The sea bass was excellent, but they again raised the price to 37.00 so 2 entries, a glass of wine and a beer and the bill was 98.00, without tip. The night before 2 entries (salmon, fish) two beers and the bill was only 57.00. It wasn't the cost of the meal, it was the special feeling we got at the other place. I don't think we're going to go back to ASC, it used to be one of our favorite restaurants, it's just not a "fun" place for us anymore.
food was excellent as always.
noise level is high, hard finishes in the room
note on handicapped access: The rotating front door is not handicapped friendly. There are two regular doors on the sides, but signs say don't use them because opening them puts a draft
on people seated just inside the door. So a handicapped person using the side doors gets dirty
Cod Fish and Chips was great - tasty and fresh! Our waitress said substituted the 2 sides we preferred - Jasmine Rice and Broccoli fit our diet better than the spicy coleslaw and french fried, so we appreciate this greatly! And we'll be back soon! For a vegan selectively eating fish Atlantic Seafood Co. is a great choice, and lots of sushi, miso soup and beautifully served choices.
Atlantic Seafood Co. is one of my new favorite spots for seafood and sushi! Came for a dinner date with hubby and were able to make last minute reservations for 4pm.
When you come at 5p for dinner, valet may not be there, but they come at 4pm, and it's complimentary.
From the time you walk in the ambiance is everything to get you in the mood.
We were seated by a nice young lady, and shortly after Zach our waiter greeted us. When you go here, adk for Zach: He's been with ASC for 5+ years, very knowledgeable of the menu and he use to be a customer prior to working here, so his passion for the food translates into his exceptional customer service.
Now the food was just SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!
We had a dozen raw oysters, some AMAZING Miso Soup along with some of their most popular sushi rolls. I can't remember the names of them all but they were to Die For!!
This restaurant is EVERYTHING and I will visit again for a dinner date or a special occasion because they have 2 private dining rooms.
Wife & I first visited ASC 10+ years ago and loved it then. We returned tonight to celebrate her birthday and they didn't disappoint. Our server, John, was great - attentive, but not intrusive - very easygoing and helpful. The food and wine were incredible.
My wife and I each had one of the fresh catch of the day - mako shark and halibut. Both were excellent - cooked to order, served at the right temperature. The blackening was just right - not over powering. Service was professional and not over-bearing. Bartender served up a great Old Fashion!
My husband and I had just arrived in Alpharetta to attend a wedding and wanted a relaxing excellent meal to kick off the weekend. Atlantic Seafood Company did not disappoint. Our waiter , John, set the tone for a great experience. He welcomed us and explained the menu and wine list. Our food was fresh and delicious. He made excellent recommendations.
