Disorganized “check in” for reservation.
Waited 15 minutes once we sat down before anyone approached table. We had to ask for water. So that -dampens the experience. Otherwise a solid restaurant.
We had a 6:15 reservation. Was seated at 6:35. When we ordered our server told us that we could only order one course as we needed to be done by 7:45. Our meal came at 7:18. This was totally unacceptable
Excellent fresh fish prepared with light sauce. Service was excellent as well.
Pre opera. Entire experience wonderful!
Excellent food and service! Loved it.
Never a bad dish. Never an unfair price. Never a snooty waitperson. Never an ignored request. Never a problem that they won’t try to resolve.
Great neighborhood spot for brunch / lunch. Has good egg dishes for brunch and salads, sandwiches and burgers for more lunch option. Delicious Cobb shrimp salad. Would definitely go back.
Stumbled upon this place walking down 64th St And couldn’t of been more pleased, given it was late. Great evening, great service, delicious food. We had steak )filets) and seafood (lobster, Clams, shrimp and oysters). My only issue was that the oysters weren’t shucked properly...I’m from Boston so I am picky! Overall very good, will deathly go back for sure
our entree was delivered to the table very late, so much so that i had to grab the waiter to ask where it was. when it arrived every dish was not warm, meaning it had sat somewhere for quite a while before being served. the manager offered to reheat the 3 meals, meaning microwave.
Our group of six were there for dinner before a Lincoln Center performance and it was perfect.
We were offered a table in a quieter part of the restaurant, making conversation possible; the service was charming and efficient; and each of us thought our various chosen dishes were delicious. Not enough time left for desserts, unfortunately, so we'll go back to sample those another time.
The pre-theatre prix fixe dinner was poor - dumplings not fresh, and poorly warmed up; john dory fish was idifferwent and basically nothing else was on the plate (so no veg); the panna cotta was rubbery. Will not be hurrying back.
They forgot to put a candle in the birthday girl’s dessert.
Food and service were excellent. Oysters were delicious. Our server - Jennifer, was quick and courteous. We'll definitely be back when we're in the Lincoln Center area.
You can count on consistently excellent food and food.
The Atlantic Grill has always been great. We have had some of the most wonderful meals there - - especially before going to a Lincoln Center performance. The service is always polite, knowledgeable and efficient.
Food was good, service was good. I wish the wait staff would stop banging into the back of my chair as they pass through. Wine list on the pricey side.
This was similar to dining at the Capital Grille with rough edges.
Once again a wonderful dining experience and we had plenty of time to be in our seats at Lincoln Center before curtain time!!
Sadly, I had a bad lunch @ Atlantic Grill recently. The service was off. We had to wait a long time for our order. The servers were confused -- bringing our order to the table next to us and forgetting the dressing I had asked for on the side.
The tuna in my nicoise salad was not up to Atlantic Grill's high standards. There were visible pieces of muscle in the tuna which made it very chewy. I elected not to say anything b/c I was having a business lunch and didn't wish to say anything in front of a brand new client.
I will give them another chance as typically the food and service are fine.
Great service. Food was very good.
Varied menu of tasty dishes. Great for going to Lincoln Center performances
Waiter wouldn’t give my friend a drink because he had a New York City ID instead of the state ID, which is understandable. The way he said it though disturbed our mood a little bit.
Pretheater dinner. Delicious and lovely, friendly wait staff. I would go back again.
If you are looking for restaurant that will give good food, good service, good ambience and good experience prior to going to a performance at Lincoln Center, this is the restaurant for you. If you’re looking for restaurant to give the above without the performance at Lincoln Center in mind, ditto.
Atlantic Grill is my main alternative dining spot when going to Lincoln Center, the other being the Lincoln Center Kitchen (located in the concert hall) which happened to be closed on the day I dined there. It is seafood focused as the name implies, starting with oysters (excellent raw bar) and daily fish specials which I usually have. Preparation is excellent, not over sauced (nor under!) served efficiently by knowledgeable waiters. I keep going back because it is just plain good!
Very good as usual.
A little pricey for things like soup and salad.
Fabulous place. The only issue is the wait time to get your beverages once the order is taken. Sometimes unclear who the server is as one takes the order and others execute the delivery
Very good food. Service had its issues. It seemed like the kitchen was overwhelmed. Strange for such a popular place with a long history.
Loud, poor and inattentive service
Made a reservation over 2 weeks ahead for 6:15. We arrived 30 minutes ahead and were told that we could not be seated until 6:15 which was fine and said we would go to the bar. The host assured us he would come for us. By 6:20 we went back to the stand and were told that no one was leaving so the best they could do was give us a seat at the sushi bar. We had to take this option since we had an 8 o’clock curtain and had a very rushed meal with waiters reaching over us to pick up their orders. They a clearly over booking with no regard for their long-time patrons. We have been going there for many years, but will probably not be returning.
We have eaten at the Atlantic Grill many times. This time was the last time! We arrived about 30 minutes early for our reservation. The person doing reservations was rude. 5 minutes prior to our reservation I went back and he was very short with me. The first time he laughed and said go have drinks at the bar which was packed so we sat for the 30 minutes, or stood on a bench.
Then...when it was 5 minutes past our reservation time he finally called our party. He took us to the back room and sat 4 people at a booth for 3! We complained and they finally found us a table for 4 in the front room. This all took about 15-20 minutes! We ordered one appetizer to split and then waited almost an hour for our main dishes. We just made it to theater on time.
Always happy with everything at Atlantic Grill . Usually have dinner there.
After a day of museum visiting with friends, we made a last-minute decision to have an early dinner in the Lincoln Square area. Open Table was able to find us a 6:45pm table at the Atlantic Grill. We arrived and were seated almost immediately. Were taken down stairs -- which turned out to be great, since the noise level down there is much lower. We were able to have a good conversation while enjoying a lovely dinner. The waiter offered us a taste of a great white wine (which we ordered) and a few of us were able to split a number of salads and sushi rolls. Great tasting food -- just the kind of light meal we were looking for. Lovely service.
Have been dining here for years and always enjoyed it. This time was disappointing. The service was not great and the food was not as good as usual. We also found the size of the glasses of wine relatively small.
My mom and I were going to a show at Lincoln Center, so my boyfriend grabbed dinner with us before. Our waiter, Eric, was great and very knowledgeable. My mom and I got variations of Bronzino, mine was with the artichoke barigoule (sp?) and she got hers with steamed spinach, and we both loved ours. My boyfriend had the charred octopus and a sushi roll; he loved it all. We started off with the roll special, dancer, and it was one of the best sushi rolls we’ve ever had. Hamachi, tuna, salmon, cucumber, white truffle, etc. yum!! My boyfriend and I split the carrot cake cheesecake for dessert, my only complaint is that we shared it...!
We’re going to another show in June and are planning to go here again before!!
Great restaurant for seafood. Meals served hot and were tasty. Highly recommend the atlantic cod and the crabcake appetizer. Service was great -- efficient and very helpful with suggestions. Nice restaurant just a bit loud like most restaurants in that area.
Since our beloved East Side location of Atlantic Grill has now closed, we often go to the Lincoln Center location. It's easy to get to via mass transit and the food is always good. Our waiter, Kelly, could not have been any more accommodating and gracious when we were there this week. My dining companion had several food limitations and he saw that all were met to her satisfaction.
Great service during pre-theater rush, food came out with no hint of a rush, service stayed attentive throughout. Meal was excellent.
The portion of fish served was so small, and with no accompanying rice or vegetable - it was very disappointing. I have never seen such a meager piece of fish on a plate alone at any restaurant. What there was- was good, but hardly worth the cost of the meal. I do not intend to return.
Almost perfect. One of our group arrived quite early, but although they were busy they seated him. Service was prompt - but not rushed - and both pleasant and helpful. It was suggested that I opt for the charred octopus rather than the crab cakes (I was indecisive) because you can get the crab cakes any time and anywhere. It was delicious, as were the shrimp and lobster spring rolls. The entrees were all excellent. The one disappointment was with mussels. Although delicious, they were labeled as an appetizer. Thus we put in for two orders. Unbeknownst to anyone, the appetizer and entree dishes were the same size. Nice unless you had planned to order something else as well. There were a lot of wasted mussels. Other than that it was a pleasant meal.
The 3rd time's a charm. Since its opening in the Lincoln Center area, this is only my 3rd visit to Atlantic Grill. The first 2 times were not memorable. This time, however, we really enjoyed it. Although the waitress said the sushi bar had always been there, I had never seen it or particularly noticed sushi on the menu. But this time we sat in the 64th street part of the restaurant right near the sushi bar. The special rolls (sushi) offered were amazing and we truly enjoyed them. My dining partner had the lobster bisque for a starter and loved it. I had the shrimp dumplings and could have had more!!!! They were so good. I did though find the menu a little limited. for instance there was only one salad choice and I have learned to stay away from kale even though it's so popular. We eat in the area often and I found this meal to be a bit pricey in comparison. Also, the seats and tables are very close together and it's not exactly a relaxing environment. But the fish and seafood are excellent. And, if you love sushi, it is a MUST.
