Atlantic Grill Near Lincoln Center Ratings and Reviews
In a nutshell, we've switched to Atlantic Grill because it is better than a restaurant we had been using in this area. Very nice historic interior, not too cramped, fantastic food, great sushi offer, loads of choice, fast helpful enthusiastic service. Prices okay for this venue. A few steps from Lincoln Center
I have gone to Atlantic Grill many times. Often I bring people from out of town . Everyone comes away impressed with the overall experience of dining here. If you want fish prepared perfectly, and to your design I highly recommend eating here. You will be impressed from the moment you walk in the door.
We ate here after theatre and told our server very specifically that we wanted two checks. He had some explanation for why he couldn't but said it would be sorted out afterwards. It wasn't. The room head came over, listened and then said "So we'll split the bill." NO, we said. Each party paying for what each party ordered. Kicking and screaming as it were, they complied. - In addition, one of the special salads (oral description) had bacon in it. This was not mentioned in the description. The person who ordered it doesn't eat bacon. All in all, a rocky road.
Dining at the Atlantic Grill has always been an outstanding experience. Unfortunately, our server during Saturday's dinner was awful. She was very sloppy and abrupt.... Poured our wine as if it were water and splashing the outside of our glassess, interrupted us when we spoke without excusing herself etc... Just downright abrasive in every way. We ccouldnt wait to leave upon eating dinner. Can't wait to return for anoher great meal, but with an opportunity to enjoy the night with another server.
Every once in a while all the stars align to give you a near perfect dining experience. Atlantic Grill made that happen on a recent Saturday Night for my wife and I. The service was excellent, the staff was experienced, knowledgeable and couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was exceptional. The dining room was lively, but not overly loud.
Atlantic Grill is one the newer choices in the LC area. Food was terrific- delicious Brussel sprout app, entrees included perfectly cooked tuna, scallops and striped bass special. Service was great- we leach got a small glass of butternut squash soup. A perfect start before heading to LCT. We will return!!
Our first visit. Everything was great! We were especially impressed by the warm welcome of the hostesses as if we were the only guests that evening. The restaurant was crowded but we were treated with very individualized attention. That started us out with a good first impression.
The noise level was low and the service was excellent. We were very pleased with the presentation and quality of the meal. Still talking about the crispy octopus appetizer. Cross the street and you are at the Lincoln Center. Timing of dinner before show was perfect.
Nine of us miraculously made it to restaurant in time for reservation for dinner before the opera. The host was very attentive and sensitive to our timing concerns, as was our waiter. Everything went off without a hitch - our appetizers were brought to us quickly, as was our main meal, without the sense that things were rushed. Perfectly paced. The food was wonderful - everyone raved about it - and we were all treated to a sample of butternut squash soup - OMG. We will definitely patronize this restaurant again.
Ate there twice in past two weeks - pre-theater dinner is a fine value - excellent preparation, though salmon ordered medium - rare was partly very rare - but graciously cooked a bit more and returned nicely re-plated - a number of dishes are quite spicy - cod on the pre-theater menu was described as spicy - quite mild until i ate a small piece of red pepper. Salmon roll appetizer is delicious as is the molten chocolate dessert. Service was very good, though one fewer inquiry into how everything was "so far" would have been a plus.
Food was quite well prepared. Special treat, the carmelized brussel sprouts as side dish. I had prix fixe and my companion selected form appetizers and sides. I have gluten allergy so having GF panne cotta was very special treat. Just wish the fabulous soup of the day was GF too. As it filled up, the noise level was somewhat high. With a reservation through OpenTable, we were led to a wonderful corner booth. That was VERY nice. Very knowledgeable and sensitive to GF. Just so glad Atlantic Grill came to west side!
The food is wonderful and if not for often poorly executed service and customer service this restaurant could achieve outstanding and excellent reviews. The staff often rushes out dishes with no regard to timing - this is never good. The problem worsens when your dinner comes out four times and too soon every time, and when it finally arrives cold after all those trips around the dining room...well that is unacceptable. Mistakes happen but the management does not rectify. Food: brussel sprout ceasar is wonderful, sushi/sashimi fantastic, cod is sublime. Come for the food if you can overlook spotty service. The waiters seem great but cannot control everything as well as they should.
This was my favorite neighborhood restaurant. We are frequent diners. The restaurant was not busy, yet we had to look for the waitress to get anything...bread, water, to take our order! We ordered 2 Salmon Burgers. They were terrible. Smelled fishy and looked like glop. Sent them back. The Wasabi chips were dripping with oil and they were returned for french fries which were delivered to the table limp and not very hot. At that point we gave up and I ended up drinking my Malbec, eating a roll, and having one third of the sorbet. That was my meal. We were terribly disappointed and have decided to try someplace else in the neighborhood for our next lunch. No doubt we will return again but not so soon.
My recent experience was not good - my friend and I were lost in a sea of large group tables on a Sunday at 11:30 a.m. and had to hail the server and the management often to get our order. Food suffered also - not the usual high level. I now believe it is greart for weekdays and will not return on weekends for brunch. Obvious that management was understaffed to handle the reservations.
Sent back caesar salads : overdressed. Booths too deep in back room. Had to be handed dishes by waitstaff/same with water refills. Wouldn't even recommend this location if you had tickets to Lincoln Center. Waitress not around to make sure things were OK. Not OK.
Everything was pretty much great except my girlfriend got a bone in her first bite of salmon. This made her uneasy and then there were two more before she was half way through. She didn't finish it at that point - it was not prepared well. The waiter did the right thing by offering her something else and taking her meal off the bill but still it wasn't a great feeling to have at this restaurant.
Also, we were seated toward the back but alongside our table was a ledge by a bar where people were literally hovering right over our table while they waited to be seated. Eventually they moved but if we go back, we'll make sure not to sit along that ledge.
2 Ladies catching up after 2 yrs. Noise level a bit much, tables a bit too close. Service was unobtrusive but attentive. Food was great. Snapper on Risotto excellent, Roast chicken - great comfort dish. Brussel sprout Caesar salad delicious!
Will return again. Very professional greeters and service.
Had a wonderful time start to finish. We were seated promptly and our server David was helpful throughout the meal. The food was fresh and a wide variety of offerings were available with a heavy lean towards sea food of course but there were options as well tor those not in a fishy mood. A good choice for those in the Lincoln Center /Time Warner area.
Just got back from a date here with my girlfriend. Easy to get a reservation and the atmosphere was nice (Tuesday night, it was pretty empty). I can't speak for the entire wait staff but our waitress was particularly inattentive. My girlfriend got the steamed Maine lobster which was decent, and I got the 14 oz strip steak which was definitely sub par. The chef was very heavy handed with the salt (and I'm the type of person who *douses* everything with salt before I eat it), and the cut of meat wasn't very high quality for the $45 price tag. The watercress salad that came with it was inedible because of the salt content. Definitely not my favorite restaurant. I strongly advise avoiding the strip steak if you go!
This restaurant, located near Lincoln Center, is always busy. However, the food, service and ambiance are extraordinary. I have been to this restaurant at least 10 times and have never had a bad dining experience. From the receptionist to the wait staff, all are attentive, polite and extremely friendly and professional.
This is our go-to seafood restaurant, and we have not been disappointed. Raw bar, sushi, shellfish, simply grilled fish - they are all fresh and delicious. I often have the chopped salad and charred octopus. Their lobsters, grilled not broiled or steamed, are delicious too, and a large one, 2.5 or 3 pounds, is good for sharing. Because it such a large space we were able to make a reservation for a group with just a few hours notice this past visit. I know we will be back.
