Excellent restaurant for a special night out or after a performance at Lincoln Center. Prefix menu was a very good value.
I've been going to AG (both this location and the 3rd Avenue location, which recently closed) for many years, and have been a big fan of their consistently excellent food and friendly, competent service. Dinner there last Saturday was atypical in both respects. The service was slow and apathetic. It took nearly 30 minutes for a single cocktail to arrive. Even more surprising, the main courses were disappointing -- salmon was overcooked and branzino was dried out. All of this mediocrity didn't come cheap: the tab, with a tip in the low teens (on account of the subpar service) came to $657 for 5 people, including a single bottle of Felluga Pinot Grigio (which was, as usual, good) and a few cocktails. After at least a dozen positive experiences, I'm not writing this restaurant off, because of one bad night -- but this visit certainly warrants a caution flag. I hope they revert to previous good form.
Wonderful ambiance, not too quiet that you feel awkward, but nice to have a private conversation.
Food was delicious, and the wait staff were terrific. Not intrusive, there when you needed them, helpful with some food allergies!
Our wait person, Hannah, was excellent, delightful and very accommodating. Must be seated in a booth and the reservationist made certain that we were accommodated.
Went for my mother’s 88th birthday and it was a great choice. Attentive service, outstanding food and wonderful vibe of a pre theater crowd. Love this place!
Awesome spot for a great meal before a show at Lincoln Center and nearby theaters and shopping. I highly recommend this spot so close to major transit and entertainment.
Sehr hochwertiges Essen in schönem, typisch amerikanischen Ambiente. Super Service, kreative Küche.
The location is fabulous for before or after an event at Lincoln Center. The food was good, not great. The lobster bisque, so highly recommended, had virtually no lobster in it! Spicy tuna sushi was very spicy but good. Portions are not big.
We took our 86 year old mother to dinner and a show. The location to the Lincoln Center was fantastic. The Atlantic Grill was incredible. Great staff. Delicious food. I can’t wait to eat there again. So many dishes I’m dying to try. Well done!
Decor and ambiance tasteful. Food very good although lacing in a few creative dishes. Service good, would return again. Proximity to Lincoln Ctr a big plus.
The food was excellent. Some of the best we have had in New York without being outrageously expensive. Highly recommend.
Stopped in for dinner and had a lovely meal. My husband and I shared 4 appetizers. Grilled octopus, caesar salad, spring rolls, and a crab cake. All delicious!
The food was good but not outstanding. Service was slow. Noise was high enough to make talking difficult. Prices seemed high to us (and we live in New York). Don't expect to go again.
Our server was terrific. Unfortunately that was the only positive thing about the evening. The food was mediocre at best, small portions, ridiculously overpriced, the menu extremely old and tired. Very disappointing. Will not be returning to the Atlantic Grill.
We had a pre theatre dinner. Service was excellent. Very mindful of our 8pm performance. Sushi appetizers were excellent and the fish selections for our main dishes were all exceptional. Rice pudding/ with sorbet was terrific. We will definitely dine here again. Perfect for Lincoln center.
Atlantic Grill has been consistently good. Friendly service and staff. Cod Piccata and Sushi rolls were excellent. Great for pre-Lincoln Theatre. We'll be back.
We had tickets to see a show at Lincoln center, and we had made a reservation for 6pm, and they were very quick and attentive in service and care. The food was fantastic. Mainly seafood, and they also have a raw bar. We had the Branzino and the Cod which were delicious and arrived almost as soon as we had ordered, or so it seems. We were enjoying the atmosphere so much we didn’t notice any delays. We also had the beet salad which they divided into two plates when we told them we were going to share it. We were out in plenty of time for the show and even a little earlier, enough time to people watch. And yet, we never felt rushed. I would highly recommend
Noisy, very poor service, unknowledgeable wait staff, inaccurate menu, food not cooked properly, unimaginative entrees ("Hello Fresh" is much, much better if you feel like cooking at home). Appetizers were decent. You can do much better in New York City.
Reliably, consistently good. Service a bit slow but most of a fairly full place had the same 8 pm curtain that night, July 4.
I like that I am never concerned that the standard will sddenly not be as good as last time.
The food was very good, well prepared and tasty.
The service was polite and accommodating, however, not attentive. We needed to find a waiter to obtain pepper or assist with replacing utensils.
I have been to this restaurant in the past and will return in the future. Barring the spotty service, this was an excellent experience.
The luncheon prix fixe is an excellent value. Plan to dine for at least and hour and a half. Service can be slow even on non-matinee at Lincoln Center days, and occasionally inept despite the server's E for Effort.
About the prix fixe menu choices: The crispy Faroe salmon was excessively salty after the crust was removed. Curried chicken salad, steamed shrimp dumplings, little gem and endive salad were original creations that dance on the palate; and you can't go wrong ordering the crispy cod sandwich. The Tahitian Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta is sensual, flavorful, and a superb ending to the meal.
Greeting at the desk is cordial and seating was prompt (reservations a must). A neighborhood gem.
We went to Atlantic Grill to celebrate my husband's birthday. This is our "go to" place for the last three years. The food is always good and it's conveniently located.
I eat at high end restaurants in the city once a month when I come down from Albany. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in the door! We had plenty of time before seeing Misty Copeland at ABT, but everyone who greeted us wanted to make sure of our needs. I had made a reasonable accommodation request before going and once I arrived, the staff couldn’t have been more kinder in making sure my needs were met. Hannah, our waitress was absolutely exceptional and kudos to the chef and management. Every dish and appetizer we are still dreaming about. The food was unique and delicious! Thanks to all for making the night wonderful. We will surely be back.
The salad was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive.
Delicious and fresh seafood. Rare tuna and Chirashi entrees were very tasty. The octopus appetizier was a small, rubbery, let down with a weird sauce that didn’t enhance the flavor. I’ve had much more succulent octopus at mid-level Italian restaurants in Manhattan and elsewhere. Excellent service, though. Will definitely return again for a pre-theater meal at Lincoln Center.
LOVE THE BRUNCH . I go and would happily go weekly for the potato galette poached eggs with salmon. The coffee can be very good to just okay, depending on the day. Horrendously crowded and noisy in "season" but as summer comes on they both lessen making it much more pleasant. Do try to go in the summer!
The meal would have gotten an "A" for taste, appearance, and value except for: (1) My appetizer and entree both arrived lukewarm-at best, not steaming hot as I had requested. I started off with shrimp dumplings which should have been served piping hot but must've been sitting around too long such that the dumplings arrived tepid, nearly cold in temperature, which spoiled the dish entirely. (2) My entree--the grilled or seared salmon--also arrived as "cold" in temperature which was a disaster for both the fish and the sauce. Even the veggies were cold, not even lukewarm, when they should have been served hot; and (3) My guest was allergic to shellfish and therefore ordered the cod. But the waiter came back to warn us that the cod was cooked IN THE SAME OIL AS THE SHELLFISH and, thus, my guest setttled for cold chicken salad. WTF? The chef couln't switch off the oil? Because the chef and waiting staff did not follow the specific requests that the food must be served piping hot I rate the food an overall "C" for careless in preparation and presentation. Other than the unsatisfactory temps of the food service--which spoiled the taste and meals--the portions were ample and the menu's diversity and pricing were appealing. I will go back to give them another try--especially since my preferred--its sister restaurant, Atlantic Grill East--is closed permanently.
We always enjoy our dinners here but the noise level is really bad enough to discourage us and our guests from returning. Something should be done to minimize the loud noise level.
Couldn't give a 5 for food since our first three choices of wine were unavailable. But overall, great place and I recommend/will go back.
Emma our waitstaff was lovely
I thought the pre fixe lunch menu was excellent! LOVE the Chinese Shrimp Dumplings. I share with my luncheon companions and they also enjoyed them. I should have placed a double order! Very good waiter, very helpful. Nice ambiance. I've been to the Lincoln Center Atlantic Grill before. I will return!
The pris fixe is one of the best values on the UWS but on this occasion the main course was not up to previous lunches. I always have the Faroe salmon but this time it was disappointing. A carrot foam surrounded the fish and hid some root vegetables that tasted as blah as they looked drowned in foam. The salmon was not as good as it was previously. The service, as always, was excellent. 86 the foam, please. I will be back.
Wonderful prix fixe lunch yesterday with 3 friends. $29 an excellent value. Steamed shrimp dumplings, salmon, molten flourless chocolate cake with ice cream. Lingered for 3 hours, impeccable service.
Atlantic Grill never disappoints. The wait staff was very accommodating to our needs for a quiet and easily accessible table. The vegetable salad was fresh and delicious. The baked cod dinner was outstanding.
Great oysters and terrific location close to Lincoln Center.
Apparently this restaurant offers free drinks with their brunch menu, but they are selective about who they offer this to. We were not offered brunch drinks, and we were forced to ask about it after overhearing our waitress offer drinks to the next table over. What kind of "service" and hospitality is that?
I find that Atlantic Grille is my first choice when I am going to Lincoln Center. The staff asks where I am going and makes sure that I am served on time and don't have to rush.
Food and ambience both stellar. To avoid extremely noisy "front room," I recommend asking for a table on the 65th Street side. Only downside for us was that the sweet young things on desk duty apparently had trouble with the "corner table" concept: We arrived just after five, so there were plenty of options, but it took three tries, plus my sliding into a quiet corner booth and refusing to budge, before we were seated other than out in the middle of the room. Frustrating.
Always a very good experience!
Appetizers, beet salad and shrimp dumplings, were good and enough for 2 to share. Pasta with shrimp (reduced portion) was an adequate size but way over salted and I could only handle a few forkfuls. Left most of it on the plate. I mentioned it to the waiter at table clearing and he did not respond.
