Sitting in an empty restaurant is never pleasant.
Perhaps the restaurant should include a post theatre menu?
Server was pretty grumpy and went missing several times during the evening, maybe they were understaffed and she was taking it out on the clients???
I am allergic to nuts. WHen my entree arrived, the wait person realized it had a nut crust. SHe sent it back which probably saved my life--although she was aware I was allergic to nuts when I ordered.
While it was a nice place, the portions were tiny and what they called a 1 1/2 lb. lobster was maybe a pound. The oysters were also tiny and tasteless. The decor was nice and the sevice was excellent. I would never return and will so advise my friends.
Our waitress was fabulous. We arrived before our reservation and they still accommodated us immediately . There was a loud annoying party next to us but to no fault of the restaurant . Food was incredible and they even surprised us with ice cream for my boyfriends birthday
We ate downstairs, which the restaurant uses only during busy times. Great to have a relatively quiet place for a conversation. Will definitely return if go to Lincoln Center,
We had a wonderful meal of multiple appetizers and drinks. Our waiter was just great — gave excellent advice about selections and quantities. We were there for pre-opera and were able to have a gracious meal with the check exactly when we needed it.
Have eaten there a number of times before with very good results but this time was completely unremarkable. Both Bronzino and the arctic char were ordinary and not particularly good cuts. Presentation was lacking. Roasted cauliflower was served cold. Sushi roll appetizer was ok but not exceptional. Service was overly attentive to the point of making us feel rushed. Granted it was pre-theater but I had thought Atlantic Grill was above that. Place is still pricey which we don’t mind if the food is exceptional and the service is impeccable. Can’t say that that was our experience this time. Given that there are other wonderful places near Lincoln Center (our ultimate destination last night), we will put Atlantic Grill at the bottom of the list unless someone convinces me that they just had an off evening
Not too good.
Sat in the 65th street room Quieter and more conducive to conversation. Bart, our server, was excellent.
The seafood was delicious, everything else food wise was moderate to mediocre.
I’ve been to Atlantic Grill several times. I enjoy the customer service service and ambiance. Furthermore, I like the variety of meal choices. Great taste and very well prepared. They will also get you out in time if you have to catch a play or performance.
Great lunch, prix fixe, delicious salmon abd risotto. All lovely— excellent service as well. Thanks!
This was once a favorite restaurant. Sadly, the overall service (and size of staff!) has declined precipitously, the menu has not changed at all in probably 5 years, and the food has become mediocre. It seems a larger corporation took over a once lovely restaurant, and in the interest of cost-cutting, ruined it.
I hope it turns around
Food is great. The menu is varied, and everything is enjoyable. All good.
Always enjoy dinner and have been dining there since you opened,
but I wish you would vary the menu, as an example the price fixed
dinner rarely changes.
I had received a $100 voucher from my hotel to use at the restaurant, so my goal was to get as close to that as possible. I dined alone and had the best experience. My waitress was wonderful and helped with narrowing down my decisions. I started with a glass of wine at the bar before my meal so I had that when I sat down. I ordered the Lobster Bisque, which was by far the best I've ever had. Very rich and creamy. For my entre I chose the Scallops and Shrimp and added the Brussel Sprouts on the side. Both were wonderful. Scallops were cooked to perfection! I ordered an Old Fashioned with my meal once my wine was gone and that was good too...not the best I've had, but still good. I then ordered the Chocolate Molten Cake and a latte for dessert, which was a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food was wonderful, service was exceptional and the whole experience was better than I expected. It was a great meal to enjoy on my last night in NYC before heading across the street to see the ballet. Oh, and less than 5 minutes after leaving the restaurant, I get a phone call from them stating I had left my card at the table...I was able to go back in and quickly retrieve my credit card at the host desk. Again, great experience. Thank you.
I have been to this restaurant numerous times and was disappointed that the food was very average and the service was inattentive. Our waiter seemed to be doing us a favor. He asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu and then never brought the menu over.
I have been going to Atlantic grill for many years and our dinner was so bad that it will be a long time before we ever go back. Don’t know if becoming Landry members means anything, but it was a truly horrible experience. Although long-time customers we were at a cramped table. It seemed that the restaurant was just cramming customers in no matter the comfort. No recognition when we walked in. Also seemed completely understaffed. With all the choices in that area, we will now go elsewhere.
Food fine as always. Table physically uncomfortable - a booth with not enough space between table and bancs. But quiet of this rear area was great!
Salad was very good. But we had to wait 30 minutes for water and bread. We had to leave before the main course since the order was not taken for at least 30 minutes and we had an opera to attend.
We have dined at Atlantic Grill many times before going to the Opera and have always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. On this occasion it was one out 3, the food. We were seated in the rear room which is quieter but the service was awful due to the lack of staff and attitude. As soon as we sat we noticed that the table was wonky. When the waitress came to take our drink order I let her know and the response was that she did not know she could fix it because she was the only bone serving our area. She did not fix it and I had to get up look for what looked like a manager to fix it. Our salads came but not the two glasses of wine, the waitress came as we were finishing our salads to let me know one of the wines was not available. Placed another order was promised prompt service but the wine did not show up for another 10 minutes. The food was good as always. Certainly the lack of staff did not help but the attitude needs to be addressed. Had to get up to ask for a check.
Excellent pre opera dinner. Very good food and nice ambience on the 65th street side. Service was a little chaotic at times but overall good. We'll be back!
Very unhelpful server who was unwilling to allow substitutions even to deal with extreme food allergies. Was unable to bring food timely to allow dinner to be enjoyed before opera curtain. Also very slow to bring check.
Food always is first rate. The service varies from very attentive to slow, depending on how many staff are available.
Nice vibrant setting and great service to go along with delicious seafood selections.
Try a cocktail at the bar prior to or while seated for dinner.
Best brunch in town. Delicious entree choices, cocktails, coffee, pastries.
The service was the worst I experienced in NYC ever. Rude and indifferent. The salmon came out raw when ordered medium. We were served our meals at discordant times with the servers not knowing what goes where. When the manager was apprised if the situation he had absolutely no response and literally ran away.
Arrived at 6:10 for a 6:30 reservation. Got seated at 6:55 which made it tough to get to Lincoln Center on time.
Great location for going to activities at Lincoln Center. Very overbooked on Saturday night. Had to wait a long time. despite reservation, for our table. Table service was poor, haphazard, slow. Had to ask for utensils, water etc. Food was good.
Rude hostess signals they’re confident in the pre-concert volume they’ll get for dinner.
We really had a great dinner at the Atlantic Grill last Saturday night. The food was excellent, the Kale and Brussel Sprouts salad was terrific, the best salad we have had in a while. Really good portion size and the kale was fresh. Dinner entree's were really good around the table, i had the Tuna, excellent. Some other folks in our party had the Sushi and said it was great. Service was attentive and the crowd was very pleasant. All in all a great expierence, we will definitely be back.
The baked octopus, oysters, salmon sushi and fish were all delicious, however, the brussels sprouts were way too sweet. Our waiter did bring us another dish that were not so sweet.
The service was superb and the food delectable. I would totally go again and highly recommend Atlantic Grill.
The food at Atlantic Grill is consistently good and the service is exceptional, attentive and friendly.
Recommend great food , great waiters everything. Will be going again
Lobster needed a little help the grill lobster per say I definitely go back there for a birthday celebration or something romantic wasn’t bad at all
Delicious food, great servers, perfect for Thayer night or any night,
