Wonderful food...it definitely is a neighborhood gem. Also, worthwhile for people to take stroll from another neighborhood to try it out! Pleasant surprise.
We've been to many of the restaurants in the BR group and this is our favorite. Service and food are consistently great. Sushi is extremely fresh and the rolls are creative.
A very busy restaurant, with a good atmosphere. We tasted a limited number of dishes, loved the prawn dumplings, were a bit disappointed by the lobster. Reasonably priced high quality champagne. Staff was efficient though we seemed to fall below their horizon when desperately seeking a knife to cut our food. A reasonably good spot for our (French) standards.
The oysters are always amazing!!
I'd say I'm a regular at Atlantic Grill. By that I mean I go there more than any other restaurant in our neighborhood. It's also the place I bring out of town guests when they want to stay close to my apartment, yet we want a wonderful Manhattan dining experience. So clearly I think very highly of the place. However, there's something that's bothered me: my table has been skipped with the "amuse bouche" on more than one visit (including last night). Another time, I brought my mother for Mother's Day brunch and they gave all the mothers around us a pretty wrapped sweet treat, but not her. Unless they pay more attention to detail, I'd say I'm dissappointed enough at their lack of consistency with the details to curtail my visits.
we are never disappointed..... lucky to live around the corner....
great brunch but service is always spotty due to crush of customers between noon and 2 pm
Fabulous food--try the tuna tartare, the scallops, the Chilean Sea Bass, the crab cakes. Service was cheerful and attentive. But it's way too noisy when it's busy. It's amazing what a good job such a big place can do on the food. They really do know how to cook fish.
Food preparation is between simple and imaginative, but good quality ingredients solidly prepared. Portion size is generous. I had halibut special and my wife had poached lobster with mussels, both perfectly cooked. Tables for two are too close together, but noise level is tolerable.
The seafood was amazing - crab cake had minimal breading and was delicious. The grilled scallops and shrimp was delicious with red pepper coulis sauce. The best dish was the swordfish with crabmeat. A lot of the tables around us were ordering sushi that looked amazing - we are planning to try some next time we go. A great spot for a special occasion or romantic dinner, but we also saw plenty of families there.
With all the great restaurants in manhattan I would not waste my time returning. Food was uninspired my halibut was over cooked. A seafood restaurant should know how to cook seafood.
Superb seafood restaurant, lovely experience
The noise level was very high. If you want to talk request a seat in the back. Oysters fabulous.
It is still nearly impossible to get a table at this Upper East Side veteran without a reservation. The winning combination of outstanding food and service continue to make it THE place to go!
The food is very solid however this is our second consecutive disappointment with the service, which has gone from amateurishly neglectful to almost consciously dismissive. We sat for about 10 mins with our menus, waiting while our waiter, another waiter and a "suit" who looked like he was supposed to be supervising, chatted among themselves in what was clearly idle conversation.
We really enjoyed every aspect of our meal, from the fried calamari to the fresh and creative sushi rolls, to the reasonably priced wine list. Everyone enjoyed dinner!
Greatest brunch deal on Sunday. Iced coffee/mimosas included in reasonable price for dependable food and service. TABLES ARE WAY TOO CLOSE IN BACK ROOM. Sitting outside on a nice day is a premium table. HOSTESS NEEDS TO RELAX AND BE MORE FRIENDLY. That is her job after all, isn't it????
One of our favorite restaurants. Food great and dependable.
Everything was delicious - loved the crispy skin salmon. Wished our server had told us specials, though. Seemed odd since he told tables around us. Anyway, salads (Caesar & goat cheese) salmon & swordfish were great'
Quality seems to vary from visit to visit. Device was friendly, but extremely slow - over 45 minutes from time of order to delivery of food. Swordfish was overcooked. I like the fun ambiance, but found the length of time it took to get my entree to be totally frustrating. I've been here many times, and doubt I will be back any time soon.
We have been to this restaurant several times before and this time the food was terrible. It was overcrowded and noisy and the service was terrible.
Good food, not exceptional. Passable service. Host/hostess staff are clueless
Lots of ladies doing lunch in a very comfortable atmosphere. The food was good too.
Whether it's the Upper East Side or the Lincoln Center venue, this fabulous fish restaurant never fails to please! Both food and service are as good as it gets!!
Went for dinner for two on a Thursday. Seating was cramped, so much so that the servers, who don't take the orders, frequently gave us items intended for our neighbors. Very loud place thoroughly preventing any conversation from being conducted quietly. Food was OK, I had grilled tuna and spinach, cooked well and fresh.
Wait staff was indifferent and somewhat snarky. Prices are the high end of reasonable, but the ambiance is so terrible that I cannot recommend it.
Never disappointing.... always consistant, It is known for great fish but the sushi is fabulous!!!
Excellent service oriented restaurant- medium priced-great food-obliging staff
We try to go at least one on every trip to NYC
Excellent raw bar, food is fresh and affordable. Knowledegable and attentive staff.
Outstanding sushi and sashimi: very good seafood in general. Definitely a place to return to
A great restaurant to bring my picky parents from out of town to!
We always bring our friends and guest to the restaurant. Do not order soft shell crabs, they are small.
Everything was very good, but even "Early Bird" was a bit too pricey for what it is.
First time I ever had a really bad meal there. You know you are in trouble when the best thing at the table was the hamburger.
Very fresh seafood and attentive service. Burgers also very good. I would recommend this restaurant.
good ratio quality price, very efficient service, but noisy
Very enjoyable. Staff pleasant.
Always the freshest seafood around! Love the oysters and the sushi is so clever: must try "lobster roll"
it's gone downhill! the food was average at best and the service was awful!
Always great and welcoming staff- great seafood and the best brunch.
Server was unfriendly and had attitude.
