Went for New Year's Eve Dec 31, 2017.
Seated right away @ 10:45 -that was the best part of the evening.
The place was almost empty with a live jazz band playing.
The menu- didn't know the usual price fix was 3x the normal price and not everything on it was truly available. It definitely was not worth it, I will never do this again.
Server was short with us at every touch.
They did not have the desert i wanted- it was on the menu but they "ran out".
We were not served bread. the server was surprised there wasn't any bread on the table.
Later, when the server came by asking how we like the apps-we didn't get them yet so she scrambled to deliver.
When we did get the apps, the Crab appetizer was a plate of lox topped by a little bit of crab.
They rushed my date's 1st course practically taking it away while she was still chewing. She couldn't help but laugh out loud uncomfortably because it was so surreal we were being treated so poorly.
The main courses came out very quickly-but were somehow already dried out?
The server came over ready to give me the bill -but we had to tell her we didn't have dessert, yet. We also didn't have the champagne for New Year toast.
Dessert was served, again not the apple tart that was on the menu but something else i did not like or eat.
I asked for the check, paid-tipped the 20% because I used to be a server and know how hard the work is(especially on a holiday).
Shockingly, throughout dinner we overheard staff talking negatively about the guests who were there earlier in the evening. They were discussing these things like they didn't even see us or care that we were sitting there.
I consider this a lesson learned.
This was an awful way to bring in the new year.
I would not recommend this experience to anyone.
We went here to celebrate New Years. We were greeted with an underwhelming overpriced special New Years menu. Our waitress was very rude, brisk, and did not seem to want to serve us this set a horrible tone for the evening right out of the gate. The food was well cooked, but very bland and for $50 a course that equates to horrible. Could not have been less impressed. We rarely feel like we wasted our money on a night like this, but we for sure did this time.
Atlantic Grill is always a great place to come too since their food is so great and their services are wonderful.
We even went there for New Years Eve like so many other people, families, etc, and they even had a band playing- which was fun!
Happened to be a PreFixe menu because of NYE. Just a reason to charge more? Didn’t offer any better service than usual but the food wasn’t as great as the last time we dined there either.
We were there New Year's during the prix fixe menu time. The appetizers were all very good. Some of the main courses came out cold. There was not surf in the surf and turf. The lobster tail was devoid of lobster and there was a tiny piece from the claw on the plate. The filet was delicious and a very generous portion. The langoustine also had nothing in the shells. Thank goodness there were scallops in the dish. Desserts were tasty.
During much of the meal we were cold. The air conditioning was blowing (it was a frigid night) and we asked for some heat which came on for a short time and then the air was back.
Service could have been much better...we were charged a lot of money for small portions and they weren't very accommodating when we mentioned we had a food allergy. Food was ok but took a very long time and wasn't worth the price. Wouldn't come back.
We went for an early New Year’s Eve dinner. Perfect! We also had our first date at your restaurant one year ago. So far, so great!
I think we were even seated at the same table as our first date. Happy coincidence.
Wonderful experience! Fantastic server and even better food!
The bar is very confortable, good wines. Sushi is very good, as also raw bar. Food is excellent. Service is very good too.
We had a glorious Christmas Eve seafood celebration. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We can’t wait to return!!
I had family come to town for the weekend and I was very excited to take them to Atlantic Grill for brunch. Once we sat down we were told that the brunch does not come with a complimentary drink during the holidays. What kind of anti-holiday policy is that? When i asked why the waitress said, “i don’t make the rules”. We should have left and went to another restaurant.
Sushi was sub-par, food was lukewarm and not fresh, and potatoes were soggy. I ordered a side of bacon that never came and when I said to take it off the bill the waitress said she can wrap it to go, what? The second drink I ordered never came.
This place used to be so great, today it was a waste of time and money.
Waitress not knowledgeable about oyster selection.
Fine time had by all food was excellent! The service is dry prompt and pleasant.
This place has really gone down in their quality of food!
Clásico brunch para los domingos a la salida del MET. Mariscos frescos de primera calidad a precios razonables. Servicio atento y rápido.
such good food you tend to stat a little too long, which means people are backed up waiting for their reservation
Excellent food and service. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. Our lobsters were presented us before being grilled. Our service, and the friendliness of all other service people were very impressive.
We were there for the family reunion and everything was nice as always. The only complaint is we needed the more room for legs. Overall great experience.
Had a wonderful meal here with three business colleagues. The service was spot on and the fish was fresh and cooked to temperature. One small suggestion is that they offer a better selection of wines by the glass. Other than that, I can recommend without hesitation.
I used to love this place but my last meal the waiter was terrible getting all three course orders wrong. I was very disappointed.
Very good swordfish
food was amazing as always but the waitress didn't even know how to pour wine, and the wine was a rather expensive bottle.
The food is consistently great. While it is known for its seafood I was surprised by how wonderful their steak entree was. I would definitely recommend it if you have a guest who enjoys a steak.
As usual, never a disappointment ....
Food and ambience are always excellent
The quality of the food is always quite good here. However, my favorite room which has windows out to third Avenue was curtained off for a private party, so the rest of the restaurant was quite dark. The sea bass sushi roll was quite tasty and very filling. My friend had a Caesar salad, which is no measure of a restaurant's chef! We lost power for a few minutes, and the restaurant was packed. Surprising for a mid week lunch. Still a quality restaurant.
Despite a reservation< waited for a table for hald an hour.
Older UES crowd....good neighborhood seafood...fun to eat outside in the warmer months...
Our waitress was wonderful and we had a great night.
We dined Sat. Nigh, busy of course. The busboys & waiters bumped into my chair constantly. I moved in as much as possible. I ordered dessert & my guests ordered coffee, they were finished w/coffee b/4 my dessert came. I didn't want it by then. Waiter took off bill & apologized. Food good as always
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the AG. The food was fabulous and our server was kind and joyful!
Never disapppoints! Always great! Yummy, delicious!
Pleasant Thanksgiving dinner, well prepared although the turkey and veggies were good the stuffing was strange and the gelato was truly terrible. Too full for pie.
Great Thanksgiving. Wonderful server so
Mediocre food and slow service at a full price. Disappointing dinner combined with indifferent service.
We had a delicious mid-day lunch at Atlantic Grill. The shrimp and lobster spring roll was wonderful and my frien’s lobster bisque and California roll were very tasty. We were able to have a pleasant conversation and the service was excellent. We will definitely return.
Gave another chance to this place who has been around for quite some time. First review wasn't good, this one unfortunately isn't better. We ordered a big seafood tower and noticed pretty much everything in there was old or low-quality. The crab claws were watery and the lobster had zero taste. The consistency of the seafood was not firm. A disaster. Very expensive place for very low quality ingredients. It was basically inedible and the cost of it exuberant. Needless to say, I am taking this place out of my list forever.
Smallest portion I have ever seen
Great food , great service, & they honor reservations!
Always good. Service is attentive and the sushi is quality yet not the creative sort. Fish is consistently excellent. Nori wrapped tuna is one of my favorite dishes in NYC.
