Visiting Boston and wanted to focus on seafood and good wine list. We were not disappointed. From the hostess who accommodated our seating request with a smile, to our server Daniel, the people and service were fabulous. The
Italian Chardonnay was wonderful, and not a common find on wine lists. We each ordered the Wild King salmon, a fresh catch of the day, but with different preparations. While it was a lovely piece of fish, both of us felt it was over cooked. We weren’t asked “how do you want it”, and presumed it would be medium. Know for next time, and there will be a next time!
The food was delicious! Our server upbeat and really knew the dishes. She could even describe the difference between the two types of salmon being offered - in terms of flavor, texture, and scent. The staff was the right balance of attentive and letting us enjoy our evening out. Be sure to get a reservation.
Another perfectly served meal. Helpful sommeliere (refreshing to have a woman in this role) directed us to a new champagne choice, which we loved. Server, Glenn, was cordial, patient, and attentive. Seafood platter for two was perfectly fresh, oysters and clams were correctly shucked, and everything was properly chilled. Soft shell crabs were delicious and the Lobster Thermidor was impressive. New silverware with every course. Table crumbed between courses. All the details I love about this place that have fallen away in so many others, along with tablecloths and well-trained staff. This is what keeps me coming back.
An upscale, primarily seafood restaurant that really knows how to make some awesome, flavorful dishes. Our server was attentive and strived to make sure we had a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
The server was excellent. It was very busy but he managed to come back to the table to ask how everything was many times and also cleaned crumbs off our table.
We had the shrimp scampi and the shrimps were so big and fresh. The order of fried oysters were so good and plentiful. The lobster roll was packed with chunks of lobster in a very light sauce so you taste only lobster.
Best seafood place in Boston!
Despite a large walk-in crowd on a game day Saturday, we were shown to our table within minutes even though we were early. Service was prompt and helpful. Food is exceptional -- the lobster roll was almost entirely just lobster, the seafood diavolo was seasoned perfectly, and over rice as a gluten-free option. Some of the best New England clam chowder you'll find. We were impressed.
The food is great. The fish was fresh and the sides were excellent. Even the bread was warm. We felt welcomed and we were very pleased with the wonderful staff.
It was wonderful and our waitress was amazing!!!
Great service and food. Had salmon and it was fantastic
Expensive but worth the cost!
Food was delicious. Crab grilled cheese with bacon tomato soup was a perfect combination, not too heavy but a generous portion. We were able to linger at the table and have a leisurely afternoon lunch. Would recommend to anybody especially if it’s a nice day and you can sit outside.
Have not been here for a while but met for a luncheon meeting and surprised how fresh everyone's meals were.
Great service and delicious food!
Th fish dishes are always good. Tops. I was disappointed in the special dessert which was Peppermint Ice Cream on a chocolate from Richardson's dairy which the waiter really pushed and it just was not special. I had a much better table than on a previous visit when I was seated next to the kitchen. This good table made a good bit of difference.
Disappointing food experience. Our wAiter was really fabulous. Attentive, knowledgeable. But the food—first of all DO NOT order the steamers. They are cheap “pissah” clams. No good at all. Had the lobster ravioli. Nothing special at all. My husband had the halibut. It was fresh, but over cooked. Chowder was good. Overall won’t be back.
We’ve never had a waiter so blatantly push the most expensive wine, appetizers, entrees and even the water. It left us feeling skeptical and, ultimately, letdown. Unfortunately, this was not a great experience for us.
Our date night at AFC was absolutely perfect. The environment was classy, but didn’t feel underdressed with a polo shirt. Our server, Tony, was professional and personable. Food timing was never a long wait between servings. Perfectly shucked oysters with no shell bits. Food was prepared excellently. Would definitely go back on my next trip to Boston.
Our server was helpful and courteous.he provided tastes of wines when requested. The food, on the other hand left quite a bit to be desired.the plane grille fish and accompanying vegetables were good.the same for the chicken Cesar salad. The lobster ravioli were tasty but had very little lobster. The shrimp scampi over linguine was not particularly good. The sauce lacked garlic and seasoning, it really didn’t need the halved small tomatoes and was very thin and watery. The soft shell crabs were heavily battered and fried instead of done in scampi sauce. The sauce was served in a bowl on the side.
The chocolate torte was excellent. The peppermint ice cream “cake” was saved from being tasteless by the dark chocolate shell covering the tasteless ice cream with little bits of peppermint candy.
Had to San for refills on water. Only saw waitstaff when serving, clearing of asking about desert.
Great food and service. We will be back next time we are in Boston.
We had a Father's Day dinner with 4 of us and it was one of the best dinners we have all had in a very long time. My husband and I ordered the King Crab feast for 2 which was outstanding. My daughter loved the lobster risotto and her boyfriend had the fish of the day with Mexican street corn - all was amazing. Our waiter was great and so was the bartender where we had a cocktail while waiting. I can't wait to go back.
I cannot recommend this place enough. This was my second time at Atlantic fish and they were just as good (maybe even better?) than my first experience. The food is absolutely incredibly and worth every penny. My favorite seafood spot in boston!
We went for Father’s Day. Everything was perfect from the food to the service to the ambiance. I would definitely recommend Atlantic Fish.
we have been coming to your restaurant for a long time. The quality of the restaurant is declining. The food was awful, full of butter .
what a disappointment it was. Paid a lot of money for Father's Day and didn't enjoy the food.
you lost one customer.
We love going there for lunch or brunch. The quality of the dishes is consistent and the service is great.
You know what you are paying for. It’s worth it!
I've been going to Atlantic Fish for 50 years -- since the late 1960's, before the fire and remodel/rebuild, when they had the big blackboards with the chalk menu of all the fresh fish and seafood. Every time, I would consider all the options, but I always ordered the fried sea scallops - big, juicy, tender, absolutely perfectly cooked every time. This was my go-to place for scallops in Boston, and we ALWAYS brought our out-of-town visitors there for the seafood and chowder and lobsters -- and they were always impressed.
Last Saturday, however, the fried sea scallops were nowhere to be seen on the menu. But our server assured us we could get an order. When my "dinner" arrived, there were about 9 small pieces of scallops - maybe cut from 3 bigger scallops, and they were a bit overcooked. Our friends from Texas had also ordered a side of these scallops and theirs were the same. I was so embarrassed and disappointed. My husband's tuna was good; our Texas friends' lobster was good; but how could you let me down on the scallops, Atlantic Fish?
Great food great atmosphere! Great even with kids!
I love Atlantic Fish. It is by far the best seafood restaurant in Boston and is fairly priced and excellent quality. I make sure I visit here at last twice during every trip to Boston.
No gift cake
We ordered the Seafood fra diavolo. When the dish came,it smells not good and obviously the seafood was not fresh. Fortunately the restaurant hasn't charge us the fish. It is really a pity!
Wonderful experience, great food, professional wait staff
My boyfriend and I came here at 5 PM on a Tuesday evening to celebrate his birthday. The dining room was about a quarter full, and the patio outside was full (the weather was beautiful!). The dining room filled as the evening progressed, but the noise level was always comfortable and never bothersome. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and welcoming, and we enjoyed the fresh bread and cocktails at the start of the meal (the Juniper-based one and the Mule). The calamari (fried, of course) was a larger portion than expected - we devoured it and ended up packing 1/2-3/4 of our entrees (SF Cioppino and Seared Tuna) to go. The Cioppino was full of huge variety of fresh seafood, and the Tuna was prepared perfectly. Although we were incredibly full, we also packed the chocolate dessert - it was delicious - to go. The portions were generous, and the food was delicious so we definitely plan to return in the future!
I had three meals (2 lunches and 1 dinner) over 2 days this week.
The meals were final ... though not a good as one would expect for the price.
Especially disappointing ... lobster nicoise. Salad greens were good ... lobster flavorless, very tough ... as if taken out of a can of processed lobster. Unfortunate ...
We had reservations for 8:45 pm. We were not sat until 9:20pm. Lots of excuses. Our server was great and the food was great.
I went to the Atlantic Fish with colleagues for an informal business diner. The reservation process was fluid and we were seated exactly at the expected time. Despite the fact that the place was overcrowded, we were served swiftly and could enjoy a nice dinner. We all chose the lobster al' arrabiata. The lobster was a little chewy and hot, but good. The wine selection is substantial and the prices are correct given the quality.
We had a great meal, service from Nick Q was very good, scallop starters excellent, SF fish stew chock full of fish and shellfish, my wife's haddock topped with crab cake was okay but not as impressive, would go here again
Amazing meal. The lobster risotto was great. It had chunks of claw and asparagus and corn, plus a small split tail on top. My husband loved his fries clam app and lobster roll. The drinks were great, too. Highly recommended!
Everything was amazing. Appetizers, entree and dessert and of course cocktails! Highly recommend. Get a reservation for sure. This place is packed and rightfully so!
The whole family loved their food and experience at the Atlantic! We will definitely return when in Boston again.
Great food. We had the bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer followed by the stuffed lobster and lobster risotto for main course. The peppermint appetizer is awesome!
