We went for a birthday celebration. The fish was very good. The service was great. We really enjoyed the occasion and we will go again.
Dinner was excellent. Seafood specialties for everyone. We started with the tuna carppacio and then proceeded to crab cake and halibut. Frederick suggested using the meuniere style for the halibut and it was excellent.
Marked reservation as a birthday. Nothing.
It took approximately 45 minutes for our food to come out despite an empty restaurant. When our food finally arrived, a steak ordered medium well, came out dry and fully cooked. Not one sign of juice flowing from the steak! When I bought this to the waitress attention, she claimed medium well is typically on the dry side. I felt so insulted with that statement. Never again . This was my second visit to the restaurant but unfortunately it will be my last.
This is a neat restaurant. The food was very good but our service as fair, at best.
We ordered a bottle of wine. The waitress brought out glasses but the wine did not arrive for another 15 minutes.
We both ordered appetizers. She brought one appetizer out at least 10 -15 minutes before the other!
Our entrees were excellent.
The waitress seemed to be very aloof.
I usually love dining at the ATL Fish Market, but my last dinner was prepared with way too much butter. In retrospect, I should have sent it back to the kitchen. Unfortunately, it later upset my system. I will try the restaurant again & request much less butter. Waiter was not as attentive compared to my past experiences; perhaps, he was on overdrive???
Jesus, our Server, was supurb, with the food as good as usual. I look forward to my next visit.
We dine here frequently, but this was a disaster. We needed to do a 5pm reservation because of commitments later. We sat for 30 minutes after we ordered with only table water in an empty restaurant. I went to the bar to inquire about our cocktails and the manager blamed a new computer system. Understand you have tech issues, but you can bring me cocktails, bread, etc without consulting a computer. They place was fully staffed, but no one seemed to care. Huge departure from our normal visits. Hopefully just a bad day, but will give me pause on future visits.

Loved the service and loved the food. Best seafood selection that I've run across in the city and can't wait to go back and try more. Also, the portion sizes were huge, so come hungry!

The food was delicious. Service, not so much. I was in town for business and the uber driver recommended this place and also advised a reservation as it was a Saturday. I reserved a table for 1 online. Arrived about 10 minutes prior to reservation and was sat immediately. I waited another 5-10 minutes before a server came to the table (it was busy) when he came over he handed me a menu and told me the special... I wanted a drink other than water but he walked away. Another 5 minutes went by, he came back asked if I had questions, I did not, I placed my order and he left again before I could order a drink. I did not see him again until after my food came. The food was very good. I ordered the parmesan crusted Salman with grilled asparagus and potato cake. I didn't care for the potato cake but everything else was amazing. I finished my meal and waited for the server another 5 to 10 minutes for the bill. He then asked if I would like to see the dessert menu, at that point I just wanted to leave. Had he paid a smidge more attention to me he could have made a lot more money, I still tipped him quite well considering... only because the food was so good and I didn't wait long for in once I was able to get my order in. So, service was ok. Food was excellent.
Food was amazing!! Best seafood I have had in a long time! So sad they were out of the lobster roll- but mahi was great!!
The food was not very good. Should have selected a different entrée. It was my wife Birthday and she was not satisfied at all and let me know she would not be going back.
Left a review already on trip advisor. Very disappointed in the manager lack of performance when he did not even come to the table to address an over cooked filet. Need a lesson on customer service. The location was great and the staff very apologetic accept for the no show manager.
Service was poor. Place showing its age. Not the most clean either. Felt like I was eating at a Waffle House.

My family eats here every 4-6 weeks. Great fish at moderate prices. Large open dining area with a view to the kitchen. All the seafood is on display. Service is wonderful.
We frequented this restaurant a lot in the early 2000’s. We were in town recently and decided to go again. It was not disappointing. The food is extremely fresh, the cocktails are refreshing and the service is great. Glad to say this restaurant has stayed on top of its game for many years. When in ATL, we will visit again. And, valet parking is such a perk in this area.

Haven’t been to the Fish Market in years. And it hasn’t changed a bit. The decor is a bit worn, which one can see readily in the banquettes that need fresh upholstery and the restrooms that are more fitting for an airport or train station. Towel feeder falling off the wall, as is one bathroom stall door, all feeling particularly unfresh.
On the other hand, the fish quality, the reason one comes here for dinner and it’s raison d’être, was quite good. Had some nigiri to start, hamachi and sake (Salmon not King Salmon), and the quality and freshness were excellent.
Two types of oysters, the Washington State shigokus and the Rhode Island Poppasquash. The shigoku were not perfect, a little aged, and a bit drier than the freshest I get on the west coast. The Poppasquash were excellent, briney, and full of oyster liquor. I’d suggest the latter.
We then had stone crab claws, which were good not great. My friend has them in Miami regularly, and he have them a B to B-.
We finished with a ceviche, which was a mix of shrimp and scallops. The shellfish quality was good, but the typical sharpness and acidity that define a good ceviche were missing. Instead, the leche de tigre that one expects in a good Peruvian ceviche was sweetened and a bit flat. The jalapeños were also not hot, so the overall ingredients were good, but the dish was flat.
Overall, there are are more current and contemporary seafood joints in this market. The Fish Market has very good quality fish, but it’s a bit tired and in need of an overhaul in physical structure, design, and recipes.

Son home from military duty and wanted to go to lunch at AFC. Great food, Great service. and our 2nd visit in 7 days.
Everything was AWESOME!!!! I brought my mother there for Mother's Day and she LOVED IT!!!!She wants to come back again when she comes back in town!!!
The service was poor. We had to ask for napkins and utensils. Took long time to get our drinks and even longer for the food. Two of us got lobsters and had to ask for utensils to crack and eat the lobster. Didn’t get drawn butter and when we asked only got one butter.
They have not kept up on tables and chairs which were cracked.
The food quality has gone down as well.
It was like Red Lobster, but with high prices.
We have been eating there for many years, but have noticed a down hill trend and this was the bottom.

Very disappointed to be a restaurant in the heart of the south and they don’t serve sweet tea.

We went on mother’s day. We were seated in about 10 mins. Our food was really good. However our service was not as good. We had to repeatedly ask her for things such as straws, ice water and refills. People around us got bread while waiting. She brought ours after our dinner had come out

Mother's Day so of course it was busy, but our server was not good at all. We got our food relatively quickly but it was cold, so must have been prepared earlier and then served. For the price, just was not happy with it overall.
for delicious seafood in Atlanta, The Fish Market never disappoints. service quality depends on the occasion, ie just a regular day the service is excellent. on any special date, ie Mother's Day the service is curt as u can see the entire staff is understandably stressed. the atmosphere also depends on the occasion. special occasions are just too loud and frantic. but it all comes back to the food - my family eats A LOT of seafood and its hard to beat the Atlanta Seafood Market.
AFM did Mother's Day lunch remarkably well. Saw no decline in the quality of the food. Suffice it to say the diners were an eclectic mix, from Buckhead Boys to folks with hats that would stand out at Ascot. More of the latter. We have other BL favorites.
Short wait good food
Excellent, fresh seafood, but the lobster is always a little iffy. One time is was rubbery, another time flavorless, and this time mushy. Think I'll stick with the other stuff next time.
Great food but nothing recognizing or anything special for Mother’s on Mother’s Day! Pretty lame as I’m sure that special day is a big draw!
Food was delicious, service outstanding. A little pricey but that's to be expected at a seafood restaurant in Buckhead. We went on Mothers Day and they were extremely busy but we were NOT rushed at all which I appreciated. Also our server was excellent with my grand children.
Definitely will eat there again and again and I highly recommend.
