Atlanta Fish Market Ratings and Reviews
We arrived at 7:55pm for our 8:00pm reservation the restaurant was packed and many waiting. I thought we'd be waiting for sometime but to my surprise 8:05pm party of four seated. Our waitress took our orders and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Ive been here several times and the food is always satisfying and hot. All of us enjoyed our food and will be returning. Yes, I do recommend highly.
First and foremost it was the most delicious seafood I have had in a very very long time. The service was amazing he gave us the special with such enthusiasm and zeal. It’s is hands down my new favorite restaurant. True it’s expensive and I’ll have to plan well but definitely going back again.
Extremely disappointing. We are regulars at Chops in Boca which is consistently outstanding. Therefore, we were expecting the parent restaurant to be as good or better. Our server was very inexperienced. We ordered a shrimp cocktail and two martinis. We finished our appetizer and he encouraged us to put our dinner order in. We ordered two salads, and two broiled 3# stuffed lobsters. We stressed we did not want to be rushed. He assured us it would not be out for at least 25 minutes. We reminded him of the martinis. I kid you not, the martinis came 5 minuets later and so did our dinners. We never got our salads and they tried to deliver the salads after the dinners. The lobsters were not broiled, but steamed in a pool of water on our plates. Overall a very special occasion ruined. I did speak to the Manager who took off a dinner and both martinis. However our bill was still over $100.00. He said it is there policy not to hold dinners when the tickets are put in. My response is, you are charging restaurant prices with a diner mentality. Pick one or the other. Our entire experience was 45 minuets. We should have just left when they served our cocktails with dinner. My mistake.
We had a birthday meal here. I had a large 3 lb lobster. It was barely cooked; almost raw.
The manager gave me a free lobster tail as compensation, served with giant "potato chips". The flash fried process they use for lobster does NOT compare to boiled lobster with butter.
The mescalun salad we shared is not enough for two people.
My wife had jumbo shrimp and shared the complementary strawberry shortcake which they serve to birthday people.
Our waitress provided fine service considering the pitiful condition of my entree.
Our experience was awesome our server was Excellent he was very nice patient and he explained everything my better half he enjoyed his Birthday Experience too the max the staff made sure our water was filled every time without us having to ask or look for anyone we will be back and we will tell our friends and family about our experience. Thanks again!! The food was soooo good!!
We weren't overly impressed by this establishment. Food was very good. However, overall atmosphere ruined our meal, as did the poor service. It's more of a seafood warehouse versus a seafood restaurant. Very loud. Based on research and reviews I had much higher expectations. One item of note, the "Seafood Tower" is really a seafood platter on ice, and it's just ok. Better off ordering a few appetizers and sharing.
The food was outstanding and the service attentive without being obsequious. I had perfect briny little Cotuit oysters for my appetizer with a perfectly mixed rum runner cocktail, then a lobster roll and the largest baked potato I've ever seen in a restaurant. The only thing I would change is not putting tarragon into the lobster salad. I've seen that in other Atlanta seafood restaurants, and it always puzzles me. I lived in New England for ten years and never had a lobster roll with tarragon in it. I will definitely go back to Atlanta Fish Market.
The food was all right but was not up the usual higher standards. I expected 5-star quality food and received a 3/3.5 star. The waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable.
There was a slight off-putting smell to the mussels. One of our dishes, the salmon and sea bass over a plate of greens, was overall mushy as if the whole plate had been baked together. OK, but not worth the price of the entree. If our entire meal were $100 less, then I wouldn't feel compelled to write this review.
Anniversary dinner. Just the two of us. Food was great, as always, Sea Bass and Newburg. Service was disappointing and not up to Buckhead Life standards. Our server asked us to move things around on the table to make room for our first course, then handed us silverware for the second course, among other faux pas. It became part of our dinner conversation, which prompted us to discussed our experience with the manager the next day.
Had a business meal while in town and revisited this stellar seafood purveyor after a 20 plus year absence. We were seated promptly upon arrival for our reservation in a booth in the bar. At 7 PM the place was already jammed full with diners and folks waiting on tables.
Cocktails were good but sort of chain like if you get my drift. Apps of lump crab and egg rolls were good but the real star of the evening were the three types of fish enjoyed by the table.
Skatewing, Halibut Asian style and Swordfish steak were all outstanding. The Skate was listed twice on the menu in the fresh selections and then in the run of the menu area as well but it seems they only prepare it one way which was a bit confusing. Still a great dish with brown butter sauce on side for me.
Hot bread and salad were great sides. Service was adequate and efficient as they are trained to get you in and out here, not a place for a leisurely meal. Not really a negative but just part of the deal here.
Will return and do recommend.......with reservations. ;0)
It was not busy this night so the noise level was better. We sit on the upper level which overlooks the street and is pleasant. The a/c was rather high and blowing so we moved to another table. Food was good, though the only place in the Buckhead Dining restaurant chain for calamari is Buckhead diner, there it is very very good. Service was agreeable and overall a good dining experience.
I hold AFM close to my heart. :) AFM definitely didn't disappoint. Per the norm (lol), I order grilled salmon, Asparagus, and mashed potatoes. When my lunch plate came out, I looked at my salmon and thought, "Oh, I am going to be good and full after this". My piece of salmon was the biggest piece yet. I was soooo happy about that. Keep up the good work (especially on the Salmon size), AFM!!!!
We love Atlanta Fish Market food but seemed to be constantly surprised by the poor service we and other around us receive...seems to be trending worse. There are numerous employees in the kitchen and standing around but are slow to refill drinks or respond to needed items...especially bar drinks ordered at the table. Additionally, we were told the simple syrup was discouraged by the restaurant for iced tea for healthy consideration. However, it has been available before and used in alcoholic drinks.... If I choose to dine at a nice restaurant where I can be served unlimited alcoholic drinks or food that may be less than healthy...I should not be told by my server that they are going to discourage simple syrup being added to strong unsweet tea...I am shocked and insulted. We have had several conversations about this since our experience there due to the appalling nature of the servers comments. I have to say the cashew and black pepper swordfish was outstanding. I hope the servers and restaurant management review this review and provide better service and less opinions about what customers would like for their beverages. We eat at your restaurant occasionally but our last experience was insulting and not a time to remember. please reconsider your service and how you serve your customers. It is making us reconsider our reservations at your restaurant.
My wife and I had dinner with friends at AFM after visiting the Aquarium. The food was delicious and our service was fine. It was quiet enough to have a nice conversation and casual enough to be comfortable. Only small issue was the group of 3-4 wait staff that stood near our table socializing. It was a little early so they may not have had much to do. Not a big deal.
We are frequent diners here because the food quality is awesome; however, at this price point, we are fortunate to be able to done anywhere. What is lacking, woefully, at this establishment is service. It is slow, without enthusiasm or personality. The service staff appear to be depressed to be there...it is not fun, engaging or even remotely speciak. I will spend more time at the optimist, lure or other places that have the entire experience.
