I have eaten at Atkins Park many times of the 20 years I have lived in Atlanta and this was the worst. Our server was Lindsey, our order name was 65, our reservation was for 12:30 pm, we had to wait for the server to take our drink order, we had to request refills on our drinks, we had to request bread. It was my brothers birthday and before she brought out his desert, she did not ask if he would like was was being served. He ate one bite. I would have asked for a manager but there was people waiting for tables and I did not want to make any trouble. I don't know what was happening on the patio but Lindsey and her support crew were not in step.
We love Atkins Park! Their menu is wonderful and being a former New Orleanian, I loe the beignets!!
We went for Valentine's Day dinner. We had a great time. The food is always great. The staff was a little overloaded that night but normally is very good. At the end of every meal the restaurant was giving the ladies a rose. We will go back.
Open Table sates lunch goes until 5 pm.
They only serve appetizers from 3-5pm, so we had to wait to order our dinner for an hour
OMG the fried chicken is beyond words. Perfect on a dreary rainy day to have such delicious comfort food.
we ate on christmas evening for first time there. Foods were good but my hubby's ham had a lot of fat while my turkey had lot of fat. oh, my goodness pumpkin roll with cream like roll cake was very good. Our server was okay. we liked adults @ right time while we dined there. no smoking. But my hubby had to ask the male to move his chair, so my hubby cud leave to check out. I tried to upload pixies but cud not upload pixies.
We were there for Christmas dinner. The food was good, but they had reserved tables and ours was on the edge of the patio where it was very cold as cold air would creep up under the plastic that they put in the winter time.
I was mildly disappointed in the way the experience went down. I had looked several times before the holiday to see how the menu would be structured on both the FB page and restaurant website to no avail. We were seated at a great table and were greeted fairly quickly by the server. He took our drink order, and we inquired as to how the ordering worked (i.e. Do we choose a certain number of items? Is it totally set and we all get the same?). The server's response was that he did not know. While awaiting feedback, we watched the table of 16 next to us that arrived AFTER us receive all of their plates of food. By the time our server made it back to "take our order", we had figured it out ourselves. Additionally, we over heard that waiter for the 16-top tell them that he "went ahead and put the food order in when [they] arrived to avoid a wait." The main course was really good and tasted fresh. The desserts were not as satisfying--the pecan pie was very bland and the pumpkin roll was frozen. It all felt very haphazard but we were glad to be able to enjoy the holiday away from our own kitchens.
The food and service were both great. But they were out of 2 of the 5 desserts they serve. My friend was able to get her third choice for dessert.
Dined at 630 on a Saturday night, was surprised at how slow the service was considering how slow the restaurant was. The waitress wasn't knowledgeable about the beer menu, my husband stumbled on his beer selection. I was recommended by the chef and waitress to order the special which was one of only two gluten free items on the menu and it came out sprinkled in breadcrumbs. Took 15-20 minutes to get our credit cards back after handing them over to pay the bill. Overall disappointing experience, won't be back.
Arrived at 8:40 for our 8:45 reservation on Sunday evening and no one was there. No one came to the front at all. We saw one server in the dining room but no one ever acknowledged us. Supposed to be open until 10:00? Bar was open with patrons but smoking is allowed in there so we gave up and went to the Battery at SunTrust Park where lots of places were open and spent our money there.
Great food, prices and service we loved that there was a fountain right in front and you could
Dine outside. We were not rushed and we enjoyed great cocktails and great dessert.
There was nothing special about this place. The food was just "okay." The server was very nice, but then eventually charged my card with the wrong order. Won't miss this place at all.
We're from New Orleans so we love to get a good muffaletta and beignets!
Since returning to Atlanta recently we've discovered Atkins Park as one of our favorite neighborhood casual restaurants and love certain plates like the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and black-eyed pea salsa. So much so I've introduced my management team to this restaurant and we've had several 20+ for after work dinners at Atkins Park. So I was very disappointed when we dined Saturday May 13 and, despite the lack of diners at the time, the service was the worst I've ever seen at this restaurant or any other. In fact, I had to go to the hostess stand to get appetizer plates and rather than receive an apology was met with "how many do you need?" and handed the plates as though I was wait staff. The temperature of the food was cool when we received it telling me the kitchen is still on point but the wait staff failed the kitchen and diners with an overall lack of attention. Will have to think carefully about returning....I will certainly ask to avoid a certain waitress.
The service was great our server had a great sense of humor. The food was good, I know because our plates were licked clean from the appetizer, dinner and dessert.
The Sunday brunch was excellent. Both the food and service was great. We will definitely go there for brunch again.
Great fun when they host a crawfish boil here. The crawfish were perfectly spiced. The charbroiled oysters were good, too. Though it was crowded, and we were a big table, we got excellent service.
We just moved to the Mableton/Smyrna area and found this by chance one day for lunch. I am originally from New Orleans and was excited to see they have several great items - muffalettas, gumbo, and beignets! We've gone back several times and keep trying more great things!
I really enjoy this place every time that I am in Atlanta. We were tired on Easter Sunday and decided not to go fancy, but just to have appetizers. When we came to the restaurant the waitress, Megan, greeted us so warmly and remembered my daughter and her husband. She was so charming and I was glad we had a chance to eat there again. It was good, but most of all it was fun.
Food is good, not overpriced and our server Meghan was amazing! We will definitely be back. If you go ask for her :)
Great food and friendly servers, although they were a bit slow. Will definitely be back!
Everything we had was excellent and the service was extremely helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back and try even more dishes.
We made a reservation & were not informed that it was in the midst of a St Patricks festival/concert. There was a limited menu served on paper, with plastic utensils and glasses. We should have been told that it was not a normal dining night.
Enjoyed Atkins Park setting, as usual. But on this visit, I learned not to order the PoBoy sandwich. Of my group, 3 ordered it (with shrimp-- both fried and creole), and no one enjoyed theirs. Shrimp was rather bland, even with extra romulaude sauce. May have to stick to brunch here, or at very least, never order the sandwich again.
Our server was friendly and helpful though.
The night started off fine, but after a bit we realized the waitress we had was not very good at watching her tables or being attentive. It took her an hour to take our food order and she messed up on our drink orders several times. She did comp my entree because the kitchen had burned my chicken. I would give this place another chance, but I think I would rather sit at the bar instead of the dining room.
The food was outstanding but the service was less than acceptable.
We were there for Oysterfest and it was so unorganized. Saturday was awful.. it took us 2 hours to get our food and another hour to find someone to pay for our meal. They also messed up my order so all I had were 3 oysters when we were there for a total of 3 hours. Sunday, we had a reservation and it was dead. It took our waiter 30 minutes to ask for our drink order. When we can back we told him we were ready to order and he said he needed a few minutes and walked away. It took him about 20 minutes to return. All we got were raw and fried oysters. We were there for a total of 2 hours and service was horrible. Not coming back here
Food Great, service was a little slow but it was super busy! The server did a great job with everything going on! However the Hostess was rude beyond anything. I called telling them that I had made a reservation and we were running late. The hostess kept arguing about how a walkin would be over and hour, yet I had a reservation. The hostess said she would check on the reservation and hung up. I called back numerous times and was put on hold every time. Finally she answered and stated rudely that we had a conversation 5 minutes ago and wouldn't stop arguing or listen that I had a reservation and I was calling to make sure the reservation went through since we had people waiting to get seated
We've eaten at Atkins Park before but have had a couple of frustrating experiences. It's a great atmosphere and the service is always very good but the food can be hit and miss. On this last visit my beef dish was overly salty. I couldn't eat any more after the first bite. I told our server who was very apologetic. I ended up sharing my dinner mate's trout which was excellent. On the two out of six occasions where we had a food issue the staff were always very accommodating which always makes me want to continue to support them.
However, I think they need to pay attention to the dishes as they go out. Continued disappointment food wise will cause me to go elsewhere regardless to how good the service is.
Server basically ignored us and it was not crowded. Menu was not available as it was Thanksgiving. I do not eat things on the Thanksgiving menu so ordered a hamburger rare and it was practically burned. I will not be back. I think I should have been informed that the regular menu would not be available.
Very slow service...almost there 2hrs with friends and we're still waiting on our appetizers. The food was okay but not worth the price...it was not expensive. The server did not appear concerned about our food or our wait and blamed it on a large party that was backing up service and food. I have never been to this location but will not be back.
Super service: thanks Meghan. Food was good but not great - a turn from the usual experience at this location where the food is usually great and the service poor or at best, fair. This time, I was thrilled to have Meghan as our server: she was friendly, informative, efficient, and just generally outstanding. Without a doubt one of the top 2 best servers we've had at the Smyrna location. Burgers all around - good but not great this time; tough meat, overly salted and peppered, onion rings weren't as memorable as in past, etc. All in all, one of the best visits we've had to this location (which is close to our office). Again: ask for Meghan - super service!
Nice venue to dine. Food was delicious! Waitress was very friendly!
Went there for dinner and we were quite disappointed. Bar is smoky so we sat outside. Service was very slow even though the place was pretty empty. Ordered a Stella on tap and the beer tasted stale and flat. We decided not to have dinner there and go elsewhere. We waited a while for our waitress to come by and she never did. Had to track her down where she was in a corner just chatting it up with the other waitresses. We didn't eat any food there but this survey requires us to rate the food so we just said good. But we really don't know.
Every time I've been there 3-4 of the beers on the list I tried to order were out. Very frustrating. No valid excuse for this.
Boiled peanuts not cooked enough. A few bites of the almond trout tasted foul and had to spit out in a napkin. Had the beignets which were severely disappointing. They were tough/chewy and not very flavorful. However, the choc/PB bread pudding was excellent.
I didn't bring any of this up to server because we were with guests and didn't want to draw negative attention. We have been here at least 10 times in the past year and I find myself looking for reasons to come back and having a hard time doing so.
Service was good, food was just ok. I ordered the Cipotle Chimichurri Steak ($22) and it was by far the smallest steak I have ever been served.... And the flavor was bad. I sent it back after one bite.
We have been to Atkins Park many times. However, this time we took friends from out of town. Only 3 tables filled. Ran out of glasses and served beer in a plastic cup. Food was served cold and sent back. Of course our out of town guests were not impressed.
The BBQ Brisket Mac n' Cheese was AMAZING! The service was just okay. We went over to the bar after we ate and there was live music. I liked that we got to enjoy a nice, quiet dinner then walk right over to an exciting bar scene. Would definitely like to go back for dinner and even go and try brunch sometime.
We really enjoyed our dinner and it is a fun Friday night atmosphere. We have also been for brunch and it is really good.
