Excellent food, great service and good value for your dollar!
Good Greek food. Great service. Ambience very outdated
Really delicious food, lovely ambiance, great service, tried the stifathos for the first time, fabulous!
Mary Pappas and her staff are always welcoming, professional, positive, and attentive.
You can always depend on the wonderful meals at Athens Market.
I recommend it to out of town friends and people who are in San Diego for business.
Other than the soup being a little salty....everything was great. They were super friendly and accomodating.
the staff was very wecoming but overwhelmed- service to getmeal was slow
Mary is a wonderful entrepreneur. She knows her business and she is the perfect hostess! Mary is always open to suggestions and willing to try something new.
She truly cares about each and every customer and truly cares about the food she has on her menu and to make sure each and every customer is satisfied at Athens Market!
I have never had a bad meal at Athens Market. I always recommend it to out of town friends and to anyone & everyone who asks where the best restaurant is to have a wonderful Happy Hour and a fabulous lunch or dinner.
The whole experience was terrific. Mary greeted us at the door and seated us. Our server, Gustavo was wonderful and Jonathan's music was great, as usual. Thank you for a fun evening.
Yeah we had a good time celebrating Valentines Day. There were a lot of people there but spread over a couple large dining rooms I was never aware of noise. I had the salmon and my wife had the shrimp and steak kebob. I will be more adventurous next time. The service was plentiful and attentive. Nice place.
Nothing special. Service was slow and the food was meh.
The entrees were good and ample but the salads were pretty skimpy for the price.
Great meal. Comfortable setting.
Waitress was fantastic! Very personable, engaged with our children, prompt service. Great experience!
I am constantly returning here for the comtinued overall experience! When wanting authentic Mediterranean cuisine with a atmosphere intimate enough to engage on quality conversation. The service is attentive enough to meet your needs, and not be overbearing, this is it! For you paleo obsessed types. I recommend this location for dinners though, lunch here is a completely different animal. Busy like a hive and parking difficult because it's footprint next to Horton Plaza and the buisiness lunch crowds.
The spanakopita is not to be missed! I had the white bean soup and a Greek salad with chicken skewer and it was all delicious! Everyone was very attentive and friendly.
Outstanding Greek food - authentic and homemade. Everything is absolutely delicious. Service was great. This place is a gem. Definitely coming back.
This was a welcome reprieve for our group while at a conference in the gas lamp district. Quiet conversation on a rainy evening out for dinner and very helpful service.
Very comfortable and timely service. We had combo/sampler plate. Good intro to other entre's.
They were having a meet and greet (or something). It was extremely loud and really annoying. It was my husbands birthday and there were 5 of us. It was a very disappointing evening. Had I known I would have come on a different night. Now, I'm not sure I'll be back. Most of the food was really good.
Kimberly, our server was very personable and very accommodating. Food was delicious and well presented. We will be back again and spread the words to our friends.
I walked in early and my reservation was missing. However, Mary was super accommodating and able to rearrange the tables to accommodate my party. Food was excellent and service wonderful with Kimberly!
Loved this place! Family owned, friendly, with great food. Baby octopus is to die for. Felt authentic like I was in Athens. . Will definitely return next time I'm in San Diego.
Pre theater dinner with friends. The only knock was the young waitress was not familiar with the drink options. Bonus: the owner stopped by the table to answer questions and say hi. We'll be back.
Always good service and consistently good food. The lemon soup is to die for and the grilled octopus appetizer is a "must". Try the red Greek wine - it's a great value!
Food was very good. My salmon was tender and flaky. The other 3 at the table were highly appreciative of their meals. There was plenty to eat, and we ate everything on our plates! Desserts were amazing. Service was awesome, friendly, and relaxed. The menu was a bit more expensive than I would normally pay for a meal. However, for a special occasion or a great place to have a conversation and still be heard across the table - terrific choice! As we went on the Saturday night before Halloween and it's near the Gaslamp District, parking was a challenge. Then we found a public lot very close by - 10 bucks; worth it (vs. driving and driving).
We had to cancel at the last minute, but we go there often and always enjoy the food and atmosphere.
Great Greek food. Reminded me of YiaYia's cooking. We will be back
One of our 'go to' restaurants downtown before the theatre or opera. Never disappoints. Love the traditional Greek food. It's all great!
Very nice, but a little noisy. We go there often. The food is great.
Best Greek food in San Diego! Authentic food and atmosphere. Greek music at times. Very vibrant and friendly place especially the owner, Mary.
