Amazing as always!
Overall the food was very good with a few dishes that I felt missed the mark. A big part of the experience is to feel like you are a part of the kitchen and getting to watch the dishes being constructed. We were the only group relegated to a table away from the kitchen, which was a huge disappointment. That coupled with a few dishes that missed the mark and the overall expense, I don’t think I will go back. Too many other amazing restaurants in town.
The great pacing and impeccable attention to detail led to a perfectly curated evening and allowed us to be transported away from the hustle and bustle of the city to a place of comfort, decadence, and peace where our true selves were able to reach actualization.
Came here for my birthday and it was absolutely fantastic. It’s perfect for a special occasion.
We loved it!
This is the place that, for me, sets the standard for great restaurants.
The frequently-changing tasting menu is invariably astonishing and delightful. The wine pairings are brilliant. The staff are the kindest people you'll meet anywhere, and they have individual personalities! They've taught me that I want not just food with dazzling charisma. I want that charisma in the people as well.
Watching the kitchen team doing their work, serenely and with uninterrupted focus, is a privilege. If you're lucky enough to see this show, you can skip the ballet.
Twice a year I travel from the mountains of New Mexico to New York to do nothing but dine at Michelin-starred restaurants, hit the top pizza places, and catch an opera. My wife exaggerates only slightly when she says that I do nothing in New York but eat and sleep. Each time I plan a trip, the first reservation I make is Atera. May they be there for me always.
Superb. Absolutely delighted with every aspect including the chefs music chose'. Wine course complemented very well. Could not fault even if we were looking for one. Special experience.
Really innovative and good food. But I listed the occasion as my birthday and my friend was there the day before and she reminded them.... but they still forgot. Wasnt a nice feeling to see other people get cakes while I was just sitting there. It’s the small things that turn you off when you go for dining at this level, and this service blip was probably the one thing I took away from my visit....
Thanks to atera staff
Truly amazing and inventive. A great dining experience ....service, food, intimate. Been to many restaurants with tasting menus but thus was truly different and wonderful. The blending of different flavors were simply amazing. Will definitely return again.
Spectacular. Service was amazing.
There were four of us for dinner. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was delicious, innovative but not contrived. Flavors and textures complemented each other and not too complicated. Food presentation was extraordinary, Dinner was truly a meal to remember and remember we will. Truly the best meal we have had in this country!!!
Amazing creative cooking! Fantastic service!
Looking forward to come back
My boyfriend, His mother and I went here for his birthday and we loved it ! The service was absolutely flawless, the food was so delicious, and we loved the view of the open kitchen. Very limited seating but we really liked that fact. Everything was cooked perfectly. The only very small things we did not like was the portion was pretty small even for a 2 Michelin star restaurant, and the vanilla smoke on one of the deserts was very over powering (too smoky) but compared to everything else they still deserve 5 stars all around. I would love to visit them again and my boyfriend was very impressed !
Great food overall and very nice hand soap
Atera was recommended by a friend of my husbands so i did not know what to expect. Unfortunately i was in town for business so could not do the wine pairing but the very attentive and gentle service of Yumi one of the sommeliers guided us through some excellent options of whites and reds by the glass for our dinner. I can say that after having been to quite some starred restaurants this one was exquisite in every detail plate after plate detail after detail. Presentation, service and taste were all a solid 100. Congratulations!
every plate were outstanding, very attentive service, perfect wine pairing
Atera is the Best! We were the first guests arrived and two waiters were outside on the street to greet us and led us to our seats. Every dishes here is perfect, especially the waffle with truffle and tuna, absolutely perfect. Also, the lobster and maitaki were wonderful, desserts were impressive. Counter seating is great, we can see what’s going on in the kitchen
I would strongly recommend the premium wine pairing. It's a little bit expensive but worth it.
Wonderful atmosphere and superb food... hard to go past a place like this for a special dining experience.
Excellent food and experience. Exceeds my expectations!
What an amazing dinner.
From the service to the ambiance to the service, all was incredible. With so many amazing restaurants in NYC, this is one we will return to!
This is a great foodie restaurant. Only 14 seats around a bar that surrounds the kitchen. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. Restaurant suggests two and half hours and it takes that long but the time flies by. I would not miss this spot. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
It took about 3 hours for lunch.service was very nice.
The wines they put in front of you for the reserve wine pairing, are worth all of the money, and they are generous with it, stunning. Food and service incredible as well
Food was amazing and service is great ... very adaptable in menu changing to suit all dietary requirements.
Always excellent! Perfection delivered by people who love what they do!
The restaurant features a U-shaped counter facing the open kitchen where guests are seated and served. This counter is regarded as a clean canvas upon which Chef Ronnie oversees the serving of that particular evening's artistry. While he makes a point of not interacting with guests so he can pay careful attention to everything that is prepared and served, the rest of the staff is incredibly accommodating, polite and professional beyond anything I've encountered in NYC.
Impressive cuisine that deny's description but tastes unbelievable. If you're adventurous, Atera is the place.
Creative dishes, beautiful presentation, and attentive service. The halibut was a bit salty, but other than that, appropriate use of salt and oil, letting the ingredients express themselves. Excellent sequence and experience. Premium wine pairing is highly recommended, almost a steal for its price.
Truly remarkable tasting menu in a stunningly intimate space.
very nice dinner for my husband 27th birthday ~
I had a wondering time~
And red wines was wondering~
I recommended everyone order bottle red wine~
Or try the wine paring .
I love the tuna tartars and squid noodles the best~lamb chop were amazing, too bad my husband don’t eat lamb, but I finished all ~
Services were wondering~
To be Honest: as a Asian, dinner was kind of too creamy for me, but overall 5 stares. Why ?
Good services makes me happy, drinks makes me happy, and food was good .
Really good for a special occasion like birthday ~~~
Have a wonderful night
We were a half hour early but they sat us immediately. They customized the tasting menu to take into account that my wife doesn’t eat pork (this is normally sad for me during a tasting menu, but when she had oxtail, I got pork cheek!). The service was attentive without being stuffy or smothering. The food was prepared to exacting standards, looked beautiful, and was often surprising, but never sacrificed flavor for beauty. If forced to choose two courses, I think the caviar with pistachio and an IPA and the final savory course of lamb with olive huckleberry and spinach would be my favorites.
This was my fourth time at Atera and I always love to come back. The tasting menus are great and it’s worth coming for the whole experience. The squid pasta with snap pea and miso was excellent. One of my go to restaurants in NYC.
Amazing experience, great food and fantastic service. Cozy and elegant ambiance at the same time. All chefs and service staffs know it all, they go above and beyond to surprise you during the Chef’s tasting. We definitely recommend all to try when you are in NYC.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. Our best dinner in NYC ever - worth every penny. Food, service, music, everything
EVERYTHING about this gem of a place is divine. EVERYTHING.
the food. the attention to detail. the service. the wine selection. the creativity. GO.
Amazing tasting menu and service
