We had outstanding service and loved the holiday band that randomly stopped in to entertain the diners.

We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but most importantly the food is exceptional. This time we had a group of five and every one of us loved their food, including two who had nver tried Portuguese before. I always get a Bacalhau dish - they are all excellent, but I especially love the grilled bacalhau or the caserole with cream and mashed potatoes.

Fabulous authentic Portuguese cuisine. Love their Sangria. Favorite apps are presunto de casa (presunto with tomatoes and fresh cheese), pasteis atasca (Shrimp, cod and veal fritters served over black eyed peas) and amejoas (little necks). Can't go wrong with any entree. For lunch the prego (bife sandwich) served with house salad and "portuguese" fries rock!

Lovely dinner on a very slow night. Food excellent, service excellent; no idea what it's like on a busier night, but my partner & I had a lovely meal, and could hear each other talk - noise not a problem.

The atmosphere was great, friendly staff that was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was very good and the wine was very good and inexpensive. The manager was very helpful in talking a couple of our party, who were lost to the restaurant a nd calming them when they were frazzled. Highly recommend.

Very convenient to the movie theater. The service was very warm and friendly without being familiar, making for a very pleasant evening. The appetizers we sampled, the beans and tripe and the sauteed squid were better than our main course dishes, grilled salt cod and the shellfish dish cataplana. The latter were good but not somehow full-flavored enough. One note to the restaurant is that the bread served is dreadful, flavorless and cottony. It's awful and detracts greatly from the food in general.

Standard Portuguese barrio restaurant. Food was good but not necessarily surprising. Good but not "blow you away" good. There are others near by that are better choices for the connoisseur.

On the positive side: Atasca is a very nice restaurant. The staff are so welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. We are looking forward to warmer weather, so we can dine on the patio outside.

On the (slightly) negative side, the food was good, but not incredible. I had the salt cod "drizzled" with olive oil. It arrived drowning in oil (which didn't really taste like olive oil). If the chef could have used a lighter hand with the oil on this dish, it would have been great.

We live nearby. We walk over whenever we feel like a very good Portuguese meal in comfortable, quiet setting and at a reasonable price.

Highly recommend.

Amazing Portuguese food in a little hidden corner - we almost walked past it. The fish and seafood were incredible. We had trouble deciding, so we ordered different appetizers to share and it was all delicious.

Wife and I like to dine here every couple of months. Consistently high quality food, plain rather than fancy, at reasonable price. Waitstaff is helpful. Main negative: parking may be a challenge depending on the day of the week.

As always my experience at Atasca was outstanding, everything from the food to the wait staff and host. Anyone who hasn't tried this restaurant yet and enjoys good food must. Everything from the seafood dishes to steak dishes, appetizers, and chicken dishes are splendid. I must have tried everything at least once and must say I have never been disappointed.

The Portuguese food was good however I can't say great compared to other Portuguese restaurants I've been to in either NJ or Portugal.

The only other surprise was the automatic 18% gratuity for a party of 6 which we did not see anywhere except on the bill. Even though this is common for some restaurants, we were surprised versus informed.

We sampled various appetizers which were very good and the 6 different meals were good. The Bacalhau com Natas did not compare to the traditional Portuguese dish.

As we were the only customers in what we could think could be a packed restaurant its unfair to rate this restaurant on that basis. The food was great, the service was good and the overall ambiance was extremely pleasant. Will go again at a more standard dinner hour.

I went with a friend and we both concured that we had a great dinner. We selected a mildly priced portugese red wine that was outstanding. The appetizers were good and generous. The entree, arroz a la valenciana, was excellent. Finally, the attention by the waitress and the owners was quite remarkable.

Amazing polenta! My brother's grilled chicken was pretty dry and the fish dish my mom got wasn't anything special, but my pork/potato/vegetable dish was really good. Also really good sangria!

We had a great experience at Atasca. We ate there Saturday night. My husband and I both had specials, he had the whole Sea Bream, I had a mixed grill. Both were very good. The Octopus salad was outstanding. The prices were very reasonable for the amount of food and the quality, for a restaurant right in Kendall Square. We'd go there again.

Friendly accommodating service when we could not make it on time for our reservation due to difficulty parking. Fried sardines reminded my friends of their trip to Portugal. The paella was generously portioned with clams, mussels, pork and shrimp- and delightfully not over-salty. Seafood stew was also full of shellfih in a rich fresh tomato broth. Our party did not leave any food behind, everything was delicious and even the desserts were superb. Chocolate mousse very dark and memorable!

A wonderful restaurant. Flexible staff. We were heading to fireworks so just did Sangria and appetizers which were both absolutely delicious. I'll go back as will by friend soon. Love both eating inside and on the patio which I did on an earlier date.

Atasca's is a lovely Portugese resturant serving delightful meals. The staff is so sweet and helpful. This is a family run resturant, and the sangria is the best I have ever had. And I have tried tons of sangria from the finest resturants in boston. No place can match up. Go here for Lunch or Dinner and sit outside, trust me you wont be sorry.
