At The Rail Ratings and Reviews
Went to dinner a few times overall food and value 2.75 stars. Service 2stars. Music and ambience 3.25 stars. Went for the brunch, not good at all service terrible over all 1.75 stars. When I checked my alerts for my charge card I used at the Brunch. I noticed I was charged for someone else (a party of 3). The waiter never informed that they made the charge. I noticed when I got home and called them. The manager asked the waiter and he informed her that it was a error and it was voided. I asked why he never told me and she just apologized. The charge was pending and she said it would be removed by Monday. If not I should call her. Well I called her on Thursday and she said she would contact accounting. She said she would contact me. Well today it's Friday and it looks like the charge was removed. But no call from her. Honestly is the best policy. They should have told me what happened immediately instead of trying to keep it secret. Overall not satisfied with the food and definitely no customer service
Food was good but the service was slow. I think our waitress was also helping at the banquet next door. The information on the app stated business casual but diners were there in shorts, t shirts, and flip flops...not what I wear to work. We sat outside and the piano player came out to smoke so that was gross while we were eating.
We went to dinner at the Rail on a Friday night with friends. A piano player provided nice music but not too loud so we could talk. Service was excellent , food came out in a timely fashion and was well prepared. We were not rushed and that allowed us to enjoy each other's company,
Prix fixe brunch buffet was a decent value, but items needed replenishing. Service to our table for beverages and hot food from the kitchen was slow. Empty tables around us weren't bussed, detracting from the ambiance. Nice view of the golf course. Piano player added some energy.
We have had Father's day there before in the other banquet room and it was very good! We did not enjoy the atmosphere nor the FOOD! We will not return. Service was very slow and now we can see why they changed the room and the buffet menu was horrible. They left off alot of breakfast food. Go to DEERFIELD you get treated better and the food is fantastic.
It was just an okay dinner experience. We got an appetizer that was basically a deep fried, seafood rice ball. It was pretty good until I noticed a hair that had been cooked into the middle of it. I showed the waitress and she took it off our bill but that definitely marred the experience. My entrée was a goat cheese gnocchi and it was okay when it arrived but as it cooled, it thickened and congealed, which wasn't good at all.
The three in our group this past Friday night enjoyed the happy hour wine and appys, In addition to the relaxation on the deck. We normally have five in our group; however two were unable to join us this Friday night. As a group, we have a happy hour every Friday and we definitely will be returning to the Rail.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. This being my third time was very comfortable with the attendant for our table, her concern as to how our meals are and most of all her remembering what the occasion we were there for celebrating.
Thank you for such accommodation.
The ambience At the Rail has always been very comfortable, with scenic views of the golf course and extremely comfortable chairs ~ which allows the guests to sit, relax, and enjoy a leisurely meal. This is especially nice at brunch, a meal that is designed for decadence and relaxation. On Sunday, the piano players are always gifted, playing an easy variety of standards, show tunes, jazz, and even a little Leonard Cohen. The brunch includes a modest but very fresh and well prepared buffet featuring salads, fruit, pastries and breads, breakfast standards such as blueberry pancakes, sausage, blintzes, chipped beef, parfaits, and so on. But for me, the highlight is always the tasty cocktail shrimp, and for my father, the raw oysters. The carving station featured an incredibly tender prime rib, as well as pasta and omelettes and eggs prepared to order. Also included, guests can order eggs benedict, cheesecake stuffed french toast, and bagels with smoked salmon from the kitchen. A selection of desserts provide the finishing touch.
The comfortable setting and the food make this a favorite choice of my friends and family for brunch to celebrate life events, but the setting is terrific for dinner, and lunch is an incredible value, particularly on warmer days when the patio is very inviting.
This was our second visit in six weeks. Food did not disappoint. Service was good. It was graduation weekend and the two of us were seated at a table for five-six ( only disappointment). Crab cakes were killer, as always. Strip steak was cooked perfectly. Accompaniments were a cut above the ordinary. Always room for their deserts. Will return for sure.
Our table was next to the window overlooking the golf course. The hostess was gracious and our waitress was attentive and very helpful (the dessert for our daughter-in-law and son was beautifully presented with a Happy Anniversary message in chocolate on the dish). They have an excellent wine cellar and delicious specials each day. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious.
The food was far below what I expect in this price range, especially considering what is available within just a few miles. The acoustics of the dining area were very poor, and the service left much to be desired. I will not return and will suggest to my friends and colleagues that they not waste their time and money here.
Usually the food is good but the Scallops were rubbery and the Pasta bland. The server knew NOTHING about the wine list. She was slow and not very engaging. Overall a poor experience. Rated as fair as the other diners enjoyed their meal. All had something different. Will go back but it will be a while.
