I was disappointed in this restaurant for both the service and the food. The service was very slow and inconsistent and definitely NOT with a smile.

A common favorite dish is Chicken Tikka Masala and it was NOT good here. The taste was too watery and had too much of a tomato soup taste. The chicken Korma was good and the nan bread was just okay.

Please avoid vegetarian food here. It is tasteless. Spicy paneer is so sweet that I wonder why did I even mention to make it spicy. If they ask you to sit after 9:30pm they ll mention 10 times that we r closing soon ....that is not good service

The food was good but the service was terrible. I stood at the door and waited twenty minutes after my reservation time and all the gave was a lousy sorry. I wasn't given a napkin until I asked for one and they seated me at a dirty table.

Without a doubt the best Indian restaurant in the Brooklyn Heights area. Top quality, flavorful cuisine with first-rate service. Quiet atmosphere that allows for conversation. Very pretty décor that exudes an Old World charm. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been to Asya many times. I always get a thrill introducing it to people who are fans of Indian food and seeing their reactions to how terrific the food is.

It has wonderful ambience and is relaxing. I've been here half a dozen times and it will be regular for me.

Absolutely wonderful wait staff. The Cauliflower manchurian was the best dish in the house. Garlic naan was perfect. I highly recommend this place. They were sensitive to our fasting and helped us break our fast right on time and wished us a happy Ramadan. Easily one of our favorite Brooklyn Heights spots. Enjoy :)

The staff was very cold and rather rude. Appetizer, bhel puri was super sour. The chicken tikka masala was mediocre but ok overall. Lamb vindaloo tasted strongly of vinegar. The restaurant was drafty and not comfortable. It was not a warm or memorable restaurant experience. Will not return or recommend.

The night we went there turned out to be a party for a lot of police folks in the dining room. We sat at a small grouping of tables on the landing adjacent to the party. I suspect this is an overflow area though I'm not sure.
Needless to say it was NOISY and people kept coming and going back and forth by our table coming and going.
The food was just ok. Nothing special. A little cold on one of the dishes, a little oily on another. Oh well...

Tapped this spot for pre-fireworks dinner in July 4th due to the proximity to the river...and have to say we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was a superior quality Indian restaurant in terms of food and service. Not fancy...but very personal attention .

We love the food. There's a nice level of spice and complexity in contrast to the competition. The owners are friendly. The prices are higher than you will find at some other spots, but the quality of the favors keep us coming back.

To start with they didn't confirm my open table reservation so I didn't get points... Didn't know that until after so this review is based off of the dinning experience.

Regarding the food, it's average for Indian. If you're not that versed in Indian food then you'll find this good and interesting. Otherwise, it's average at best.

Garlic Naan, was without garlic, aside from the tiniest amount. Coconut rice had hot chillis in it for what ever reason. Shrimp pickle curry was just weird, even though it came highly recommended. Completely edible to be honest but too ketchup'y which made me feel like it was an indian/American mashup. Not something I would get again. And the usual failsafe Chicken Curry... the sauce had separated.

Service was near non existent. We were a bit early for our reservation and there was a table getting up We were then sat at a table that hadn't been cleaned yet and had the table wiped down while we were sitting there. Menus came 5 mins after sans a drinks menu which took another 5-10 mins. After 10 mins I had to flag down a waitress to take our order. Getting the cheque took what felt like ages, having the card then picked up took me flagging down the waitress even though I asked her to wait while she dropped the cheque off. But once the slip was dropped and I was signing it they were there amazing fast to collect it...

Dinner at Asya feels like being in a cozy den with its muted colors, roughly textured walls, quirky chandeliers, and soft lighting. But in this den you're surrounded by wonderful smells and get to eat some sublimely seasoned food cooked to perfection. A great neighborhood find.

Some of the better, more authentic Indian food I've had in New York. The decor and ambiance are lovely, and the food is really quite good. As I would with most Indian restaurants, I encourage sharing. The dishes look small at first, but there's actually quite a bit in there, and the curries really have incredible flavor. I'll definitely return.

We had made a reservation for four people at 7pm. When we arrived there was nobody else in the restaurant. But by 8.45 the place was bustling. And the bill was brought and put on our table. We had not asked for it. We were not asked if we wanted dessert (One member of our party did) or tea/coffee or anything. When we looked askance the waiter said, sorry but there are people waiting for a table!!
This is a neighborhood Indian restaurant. The fact that it is popular is good but treating seated customers rudely will not endear it to us.

Horrible experience after dining in.
There is no consistency what so ever.
They serve you the lunch special as so they're doing you a favor by giving you food @50% off.
The woman hostess is rude to bits and a deservingly called Cun*.
Disgrace to Indian cooking.

Save your money and health and eat elsewhere as they don't deserve your business.

The food was authentic and delicious. But when they are catering event, sit down customers don't exist. You can see them rushing about and packing food while you wait for your order to be taken and delayed meal to come. It took more than 30 min for meal to come and we were the first and only customers for 15 min.

Stopped in for a mid-week dinner on a cold night, which could explain this smallish but elegant Brooklyn Heights Indian being half empty that evening. But a warm welcome and attentive service, highlighted by a Marigold Hotel moment when we asked what the stuffed eggplant was stuffed with, and were told nothing, but it wasn't available anyway. The food that was on offer, however, did not disappoint. My wife and I shared a Lamb Handi and a Bhindi Masala. The lamb curry, spiced up at our request, was particularly good with the individual flavors of the curry still coming through the added heat. The bread was not soggy and the chutneys good -- an attention to detail not always in evidence at NYC Indian restaurants. We'll go back.

Probably not the best night for a somewhat fancy neighborhood Indian restaurant. Plus: I had called saying we would be a little late, they said no problem, but when we arrived, they had given away last table and we had to wait. They were nice about it tho, but there is no bar to wait at.

We had just been to India, so our standards were high. Some of the food was excellent, other pedestrian and too americanized: the tiika masala tasted like campbell's tomato soup, granted I shouldn't have ordered such a dish.

But I would go back!
