Asuka Sushi Ratings and Reviews
The young woman who was seating customers was unpleasant! Although we really like this place we thought our experience could have been much nicer if they had a more pleasant hostess. There are so many restaurants in NYC why should anyone have to put up with staff members who instead of being grateful to have a job act like they are doing you a favor? Next time we will go to Haru where the people are much nicer.
We really liked Asuka and stopped in because we were in the area. We were pleasantly surprised at the variety and freshness of the sushi. The service was fabulous as our water glasses were constantly refilled and the waitress came by a few times to make sure we were satisfied with our selections. We like the tuna tartare with wasabi crackers and guacamole, a special that day and the Sex and the City roll.
i thought the salad bar was a nice idea,
however the service was very anxious, they kept coming by to take my order before I was ready and than trying to remove my plate before I was finished.
Also thank god for the salad bar, it was a very long wait for the food.
The food was served in an attractive manner, but was a little too much oil.
We went for my friends birthday. The waitress screwed up our entire order. They misunderstood spicy tuna for asparagus. I don't know how they could have confused those two. It caused a lot of issues because none of us wanted to eat until the order was corrected. Overall F experience on service and food.
Chose Asuka because it was near an event I was going to. I am vegan and I saw on line their menu had a lot of vegetable sushi rolls. More so, many other Japanese restaurants that generally have only a few to chose from. The Sushi as well as the miso soup & edamame were very good. My guest had eggplant miso which she loved and the appetizer portion was so big she took it home.
The servers were pleasant enough. So overall it was a good experience and I would go back as it really satisfied my vegan needs.
