Only 4 stars for the service because of the hostess! When we checked in, she had this very cold look on her face which was very odd if you are in this line of job. We found it very unfriendly. We were staying in the Peninsula hotel, which is nextdoor and wanted to try The St. Regis. Our waiter on the other hand was a 5 STAR! He was very helpful and friendly. And compliments to the chef. The foods were delicious!!!
My nephew’s birthday! Absolutely a perfect place for brunch and celebrations of any kind. Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, outstanding service provided by Jessie and Jonas!!

I didn't give it a five star review because I called over a month in advance to make reservations for Easter Brunch and we did not have Easter Brunch at all, but simply breakfast at the St. Regis on Easter morning. It was very good, but I was really looking forward to a brunch so it was a bit disappointing to just order off the menu.
I took my husband here to celebrate his retirement and the whole experience was great!!
Beautiful space, wonderful staff who were just perfectly attentive, and the food was very flavorful and fresh. We both had Halibut prepared 2 different ways - very good!!

Afternoon tea at the St. Regis was wonderful. As soon as we entered the hotel we were welcomed with smiles and greetings. The hostess at the Astor Court Restaurant was pleasant and professional. She led us to a table in the rear corner of the room. For the privacy, I assume. I don't think it's because she thought we were riff-raff. There were now just four couples in the restaurant and we were as far apart from each other as we could possibly be. That's a good thing.
We each started with one of their signature cocktails. Both were refreshing and served in the neatest little glasses. They resemble a long stem tea cup.
I had Caroline's Tea, my wife had Lady Astor's Tea. Caroline's was a bit more savory with two fish choices instead of the egg salad and the quiche sandwiches featured in Lady Astor's. Each and every tea sandwich was delicious and meticulously prepared. The sweets were perfectly sized bites with distinct flavors and textures. We couldn't finish the last two so they wrapped them to go. When we opened them for a snack latter in the day we were pleasantly surprised to see our waiter gave us two extra sweets.
No complaints at all with afternoon tea at the St. Regis. Atmosphere was pleasant, service was professional and friendly. Didn't detect any stuffiness, at all, from anyone. We felt welcome. We would absolutely come back. Our next weekend in NYC could easily include a visit to the King Cole Bar for lunch and a cocktail or two.

Servers were very rude. Did not bother to check on our table when we were clearly finished with our round. The menu is messy and unclear. Do not go if this is a special occasion as you will get very offended and will not enjoy your time at all. Not worth the money and time at all.
I have had high tea at ALL the best spots in NYC and I love yours the best. You serve the BEST high tea sandwiches and scones and sweets. Especially the savories!
I have been coming here for many many years! Always nice ... this time we had to edit a long long time to be attended to ! We ordered Caroline tea and lady Astor ! They came on the same server so it was confusing what was what .snd who eats what... not a greatest experience! Still very nice !!!
When you really want to pull out all the stops you can't do better than the Astor, spectacular in every category, starting with the magnificent Old King Cole mural by Maxfield Parrish over the bar. The setting is the essence of swank, the service is impeccable, and the food is beautifully prepared and exquisitely plated.
This was a wonderful treat -- a truly beautiful restaurant with the most gracious, un-rushed service. We were there for restaurant week but I'd go back any time of the year. It's a slightly odd menu (a Reuben is not what I usually order) but the flavors were delicious, the preparation careful and imaginative, and the chocolate dessert the stuff of dreams. We were lucky enough to have Jessie wait on us and although I rarely remember the names of waitstaff, I will definitely ask for her again next time.
The wait staff would never fill out glasses. We had to ask for water multiple times. Got our order wrong for both appetizer and entree. The dessert was amazing but the rest of the food was me
Went here for Restaurant Week. However, the server said they stop serving that menu at 3pm, despite the regular lunch menu still available. Nowhere on their site, on OpenTable, or on the nycgo website does it say this. I had the tuna tartar (excellent) and the capellini pasta (fair). Service was neither attentive nor accommodating. There was a bit of a wait for the maitre d' to get seated. The place was nice and had a pretty cool harpist.
The butternut squash soup was beautiful to look at as well as tasty! We went on a very cold day and ordering hot soup over salad was the natural choice.
Entres on the restaurant week menu was either sandwiches or risotto. Not much of a choice there. We both ended up with hot risotto which was very simple, though quite tasty. Dessert was round chocolate mousse cake coated with dark chocolate and a scoop of ice-cream on the side. I finished everything. The entres were quite weak but if u want to talk in a beautiful decor with high ceiling, this is the place for u.
Everything was okay until the very end. As my guest and i were on our way out the captain felt it was necessary to ask me why I didn’t tipped him. Unbeknown to him I left the tip in cash... which he clearly didn’t see.
This experienced made me feel so uncomfortable and embarrassed.
I try contacting a manager minutes after the incident. (Which took me several calls extensions)

Great wait staff, my friend did torture the guy but think that was just a typical person who wants what she wants . The restaurant week lunch was sandwiches which I had never seen on a lunch. All was ok, not special, where we sat, at a cramped small round table wasn't great. Nothing was great. I wouldn't go back, there wasn't one good reason to do so, except the waiter.
I looked at the menu and decided that I had to come and dine here. Starting from the moment I was greeted at the door, until I left, I felt like royalty. The food was creative, delish and outstanding. From the burrata salad to the risotto, finished off by the mousse, each course was a masterpiece. I will definitely come back more often!
Fillet of sole was tough and fishy tasting and had to be sent back. Totally unacceptable for anywhere especially for this price points
Atmosphere was cold without any elegance. We left because of the disappointing restaurant weekend menu (Ruben sandwich and risotto as entrees is not exciting)

We went there during the Restaurant Week. The food was good and high quality, however the quantity and the originality were disappointed. Otherwise, the service was perfect and the place wonderful. We had a time constraint and were served accordingly.
This is not for the feint of heart. You will not be disappointed though.

The service was awful , the waiter never hesitated to ask if we want another round or just to check on us , it took a while to place an order and then to catch a waiter to get the bill. The place was dirty and looked like it's a sports bar as the whole floor was covered with nuts , chips and shells. Never again.
A groups of people showed up with no reservation insisting they be seated. It was Christmas Day. The maître d' explained there were no tables available, but these people would not leave. They had 4 small children that were running around the tables like they were at Chuckey Cheese. The parents did nothing to quiet the children. The maître d' should have asked them to either leave or at least wait outside the dining area until a table could be arranged. There are better standards for the guest exepeerince at McDondals than were held at the Astor Court.
Take time away from the hustle and bustle of midtown Manhattan and enjoy the elegant ambience of afternoon tea at one of New York’s classic hotels. The tea sandwiches are impeccable; the scones with clotted cream and lemon curd, perfection; the sweet bites of mini-desserts are most satisfying and a sweet end to the afternoon. We enjoyed tea as a pre-theater meal for a 7 o’clock curtain. A wonderful way to end our trip to New York.

We go every year for a holiday tea and have always had a wonderful time. The server was great as always this year and the harpist was amazing but an incredibly rude hostess really soured the experience this year.

Venue is one of the few elegant old world dining rooms in New York. Two course luncheon options are a great value and portions are generous. Service was ok. Not as attentive as one would expect for a Five Diamond Establishment. We had to ask for our entrees 20-minutes after they cleared our appetizers. I had to ask for more water (a pet peeve as they should have come around to check.) Then I had to flag our server again to get the check. The dining room was not very busy and the room seemed well staffed. The server was polite, but could have been more attentive given how quiet the room was.
I would return again, as the Carrot Ginger Soup was quite lovely.
EXCELLENT FROM START TO FINISH!!! We went for lunch and it was absolutely delightful.
