I highly recommend Afternoon Tea at Astor Court for a memorable high-class experience. My mother and I each ordered the Dali Tea. The highlight is a small print of Salvador Dali’s painting The Persistence of Memory (melting clocks) framed in delicious dark chocolate with a white chocolate back plus two chocolate paintbrushes. All of the other savory and sweet pieces were equally tasty. Even the salmon mousse with caviar was delicious! Two of the pieces were decorated with edible gold leaf. Our server Juan Manuel was helpful and friendly. The Astor Court’s decor is exquisite with cherubic murals and a blue sky painted ceiling. We felt like we were having tea at the home of a Rockefeller. We’re looking forward to going again.
Nestled in the St Regis hotel, this was an absolutely lovely spot to enjoy a traditional English tea.
The food was fresh and tasty, the service was meticulous and we felt pampered.
It was our anniversary and they treated us to complimentary glasses of champagne.
Top notch through and through, would highly recommend!
Occasion was our adult daughter's birthday and we went for afternoon tea. Food quality was exceptional, melt in your mouth smoked salmon and the desserts were all over the top great. We left fully satisfied that there was enough food even though the portions were not overly large. The tea, I had the white tea and the others had English breakfast was exceptional. The service was outstanding as you might expect for the St. Regis, but it was more than that - very personal and genuine. Without asking, they made an extra effort in having the harpist play Happy Birthday and they brought three complimentary mimosas to the table. They made a special occasion that much more outstanding. Would definitely return for Tea, lunch or dinner!
We were there for my birthday. I’ve been to King Cole bar and Astor Court before... it never disappoints.
delicious food, good seats and friendly staff. I have gone for both restaurant week and non-restaurant week options.
When I walked into the dining room, it seemed I walked into a classic place, the staff were extremely friend and service is great. The food was very good. highly recommended.
Food was good but the service was everything!
Went for lunch restaurant week, great menu, good service and wonderful food.
Met my friend for NYC Winter Restaurant Week lunch. I requested a quiet table where my friend and I could sit and catch up. Big mistake as we were seated in the window seat at The King Cole Bar instead of the exquisitely-appointed, luxurious main dining room. Secondly, we were not offered beverages or beverage menu other than water with our meal. Next, our table was not cleared after bread and appetizers before the main entree. My fault for the crumbs, but as a high-end restaurant as Astor Court proclaims to be, our table should have been tidyed and impeccable prior to eating our main course. It sounds like I am nitpicking a bit, but people pay top dollar to eat there so we were expecting a top-notch culinary experience. And lastly, the main course of butternut squash and champagne risotto was mediocre at best. Very bland and dry, and the risotto was undercooked. I will venture to say some TV dinners could rival this dish. I added the winter truffle supplement for $15, but the truffles were muted and possibly stale. What an overall disappointing experience. I hope the poor quality and service was not a product of the Restaurant Week discount pricing.
Restaurant Week stop and I could not have been more pleased. The service was phenomenal, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was high end but not stuffy. Will definitely be returning as a result, especially for the chocolate log cake.
It was cozy, and the food was nice. Will visit again soon.
What a wonderful place to have a ladies lunch and celebrate a birthday
Everything was perfect.
We went for restaurant week so it was fairly priced but the food was subpar & otherwise overpriced. The server seemed distracted and took 3 tries to bring us the lunch menu. Not their fault but credit card system was also done so we had to pay with some manual system from 1980s. Overall disappointing.
Overpriced for wine, soda, desert, coffee. They get you in the door with $20.20 lunch and then charge high, high prices for accompaniments. Ridiculous.
The food and the service were excellent and the birthday surprise capped a lovely meal.
I have been enjoying the food, ambiance, and amazing service at Astor Court for decades. Even with the scores of excellent restaurants we have in NYC, Astor Court at the St Regis Hotel remains a gem and never disappoints!
Excellent brunch on new year’s day at Astor Court, restaurant in the St. Regis Hotel. The buffet looked sumptuous but we ordered from the menu and were not disappointed. Would go again without question. Beautiful space, great food and very attentive service by all the staff.
Our reservation was for 8:30. We were seated immediately. At 10pm we began wandering around looking for someone to bring us a check. Eventually we got to the point where we received a check, and gave over our credit cards. Those cards sat, unattended, at the waiter station for over 20 minutes. More wandering, pulling in random employees to assist...finally got a slip to sign at 11:15. The food was good.
We loved our Tea at the Astor Court. We were seated at a window that was lit for the holidays. The food was excellent, with every sandwich delicious. I especially loved the salmon sandwich and the egg salad. The only issue we had was the slight inattentive was of our waiter. We had to ask for water, and we had to ask for our check after waiting for some time. One other important thing to note: Open Table allowed us to book Afternoon Tea for 230pm. This is early for a Tea, but our evening plans required it. When we arrived at 230, the restaurant showed we had a reservation but told us they didn’t start Tea service until 3pm. So we waited. It was worth the wait, however. I loved this tea more than the Plaza and Ritz teas we’d done the year before, because it was more relaxing.
It was my young friend’s first high tea. The food was excellent the service was amazing and I would definitely return for this wonderful experience!
Every time we come to New York we always eat at the Astor Court regardless if we are staying at the St Regis. This time the food was overcooked and we were very disappointed. I hope it was just a fluke.
Overpriced and overrated Dalí tea. Great idea and great menu but clearly prepared well in advance. Cold sandwiches on refrigerated bread. Service minimal
Wonderful food and staff in a lovely room!
This salad was very tiny and the red wine was really warm, not temperature contrôles.
Quiet, elegant and un-rushed. Lunch prices are high
($30 salads, $12 tea) but the overall pleasantness compensates.
Delish & comfortable
Wonderful location, and the food and drinks were great!!
My friend and I visited from Arizona and were excited about the High Tea. We went too early on limited time but Melissa the amazing manager pulled some strings and their chef made us our own high tea. We were treated like royalty and everyone was so great. The mini sandwiches and desserts and tea were all amazing!! 10/10 would recommend. Melissa made our experience wonderful!
We had an absolutely terrible experience at the high tea. The waiter was stressed and the service was terrible. They brought the food out at different times, had the champagne overflow the bottle and could not remember which tea went to which person. It was for a friend's birthday so we wanted a special celebration. This was anything but special!! Extremely disappointed.
Perfect location for high tea!! Lovely setting, outstanding tea and food! Great ambience. Pleasant and helpful staff. Would highly recommend!
Food was overpriced for what we ordered. The service was the best part of the dining experience.
Always a wonderful experience. Beautiful atmosphere. Excellent food. Caring service.
We stayed at the St Regis for my birthday weekend and went to Astor Court for Breakfast. The service was phenomenal, the food was great. I will go again next time I stay at the St. Regjs.
From the moment you arrive, you are transported. The mural on the ceiling is beautiful and takes you away.
Our waiter took great care of us and explained the various courses. The food was terrific. You were not rushed. It was so nice to sit, eat and be able to hear your conversation. I will definitely be back.
We went for restaurant week lunch. Not so much for the food which was quite good.but for the ambiance. The high mtaled ceilings and the crystal chandeliers. How elegant. Worth the experience
Excellent Absolutely Wonderful
Very nice setting in a prestigious hotel. Very nice with the restaurant week price
