Asti D' Italia Ratings and Reviews
Not even worth it. I’m a fan of Italian food n since the moment we walk in was bad.
Only one waiter serving about 10 tables so the manager was helping. We got some water and finally the waiter showed up after about 5 min... he didn’t introduce himself at all and rushed to tell us the specials and as he started to walk away my bf has to tell him he wanted some wine and a side salad.
So we really had no chance to talk to him.
The manager stops by and we told him we haven’t been help. He takes the order and walk away... salad comes and is super watery, not enough dressing and looks like the lettuce is super. NOT GOOD.
Food comes and the pasta has no flavor at all. I got a full chicken breast sitting on top instead of being sliced.
I overhear the lady next to me explaining to the manager how her salmon was undercooked even tho they took it once back to the kitchen so she was very disappointed.
Overall not even worth the time or the money. Extremely pricey for not good food.
The food is excellent; I've been there many times and I've never been disappointed. But the service was slow and inattentive on my most recent visit. As I recall this is not the first time. I think they need to add wait staff; I think the servers were doing their best.
Don't let the location fool you. I was skeptical of a restaurant in a shopping center but this is a top notch restaurant fit for any special occasion. The menu is not extensive but the dishes they do serve are of the highest quality. Everything was prepared perfectly and the seafood was very fresh and delicious. My family looks forward to our next visit.
My girlfriend and I went to Asti D'Italia on a special Mother's Day/Birthday/First Date without baby date. Everything went fairly well, but they definitely forgot about us and our order as 4 tables that came into the restaurant and ordered after us all received their meals first. It was quite frustrating and pushed us up against the clock for the rest of our plans. They gave us each a glass of wine on the house, but I felt that was a pretty ho-hum apology for such crappy service. Food was delicious though.
We go to Asti D' Italia regularly. It's pretty easy to get into on most days, the food is good, and the staff is very welcoming (like family). They actually know us by name, and vice versa at this point. On our most recent visit the service was a little bit slow, but that was an anomaly, based on our experience. We highly recommend Asti D' Italia for any occasion!
I was most disappointed in the food. There was no flavor it was very bland. Out of ten dishes one plate was liked. When we told the server, he offered to have it remade. By that time we were 20 minutes into service! No discount even. Our bill was over $500! Server was off. Couldn't seem to get things figured out! So disappointing especially since it was for my sons CU Boulder graduation. Won't be back.
I read reviews and they were either you liked it or you didn't . After going I'm with the didn't really like group. It was on the expensive side for what you got. The soup and pasta seemed like it used the same bland tasteless tomato sauce on both. Other pasta dish was a full order and it was a small serving (hate to see what a 1/2 order was), it tasted ok, but nothing special for price and for an Italian restaurant. Service was very good, waiter was attentive.
Usually a stable, good quality experience. This time disappointed in the ingredient quality, ie, the shrimp. Obviously low quality freshwater junk. How about fewer, larger, better wild caught? Your daily risotto is a real feature, but not filled with something that tastes bad!
We went on Project Angel Heart night, so it was pretty crowded. That made service kind of slow.
That said, we will for SURE go back! The food and wine were awesome!!! What a cool find in a mall-ish suburb!!
BIG SHOUT OUT YAYYYYY for this restaurant supporting Project Angel Heart!!
There aren't many Open Table restaurants in the northern suburbs, and since my son lives in Thornton, and we were heading to the Orchard AMC for a movie, it was nice to find a restaurant that was participating in Project Angel Heart's dining out fundraiser. Thanks to Asti D'Italia for joining this annual event. We ordered the garlic Parmesan bread as an appetizer, and to our tastes, it needs improvement. There was almost no garlic flavor, and the gooey cheese topping did not look or taste like Parmesan to us. Maybe mozzarella with a sprinkle of Parmesan on top. Hope the chef will do some research into a classic recipe for a bread of this type.
I ordered the risotto of the day, with shrimp, corn etc. Generously loaded with shrimp, and tasty but I felt it needed more salt. Since there was none on the table, I had to ask for some which came fairly quickly. My dinner companion ordered the chicken marsala, which he liked. The dessert menu looked good but we did not have time to sample.
Outstanding food, ambiance and service if you sit at the bar to dine. The bartender is the owner of the restaurant and he is outstanding in his professionalism and knowledge of wines and the menu. We've been coming here since it opened 8 years ago and it is consistently wonderful.
Very loud restaurant. We were put next to a very large table that went down the entire first half of the restaurant (probably a table of 12). Honestly, those large parties need to be towards the back as it is very distracting to other guests. We felt like we were listening to a presentation from a loud talker at that table. We also waited to be seated for several minutes while the host was over making espresso for customers. We then waited several more minutes for our waiter to come by and take our order. The food was ok, nothing spectacular. The two people we were with were a bit hard of hearing so it was not an enjoyable environment for them to be in. Keep the small tables please and that will help with the acoustics.
I took my wife to Asti D'Italia for Valentine's Day. We'd heard good things. We were disappointed. First they sat us at the same table as another large group. Yes, at the SAME table. Not very romantic to say the least. The waiter seemed to have no time for us. He was constantly looking at other tables and barely spoke to us. When we asked to see the dessert menu he brought it over then it was almost ten minutes before he returned to take our order. Needless to say we passed on the dessert and left. Not the kind of service I was expecting for a nice dinner but doubly bad for Valentine's Day. Very disappointing.
There were six of us for dinner. We were kind of wedged in with 3 small tables placed together, but the ambiance was nice. My husband said he had the best chicken marsala ever! My salmon was delicious - could've used a few more gnocchi. For dessert, get the chocolate temptation "log"! Great to share and soooo worth the calories!
Service was fine although when waiter was asked about a white wine recommendation the response was I'll take care of it which felt presumptuous. I would have preferred him to make a recommendation and let me decide. Both of us ordered a pasta dish with chicken. While the flavor was nice nether of us could find the chicken which was disappointing given the prices are on the higher end. Salad was big enough to share. Overall nice but not great restaurant. I would consider this an everyday restaurant with special occasion prices. We were not rushed and felt comfortable taking our time.
Overall the food was pretty good (being the foodie I am) HOWEVER, the Golden Beet Salad would improve 100 % if they DID NOT "pickle" the beets! Just way too sour and neither my girlfriend or I liked them. Just cook them, slice them and put them on the salad. The after-lunch cappuccino was EXCELLENT! I also had the Polenta Bruschetta----fabulous.
Also............the waiter should have been empathetic when I told him the beets were WAY TOO sour with vinegar instead of saying he loved them that way and wasn't it odd that we didn't like them.
Creative take on Chicken Marsala. The Marsala sauce was not too sweet and included a thoughtful addition of mustard seeds, and yet still maintained a traditional mushroom and wine flavored base. The inclusion of a spinach and carrot medley cooked al dente provided a different texture and tied the mashed potatoes and chicken together.
We made a reservation for a birthday lunch, and when we arrived were surprised that we were the ONLY people there (one other party showed up later).
There were three of us and we ordered an appetizer, but first asked if it would be large enough to share. The server said 'yes, definitely'. It came and there were only two very small portions...so NO actually not large enough to share.
I ordered the entree shrimp salad. Was VERY surprised to see that they used small BAY shrimp on it. One of the other people in our party had the shrimp pasta and got the same shrimp, but a larger portion. It just seemed very cheap to get such a small portion of small shrimp on an entree salad that wasn't inexpensive.
Overall the food was good...it just seemed like they were worrying way too much about food cost, and with only two parties total (we were one of them) the entire time we were there...I can see why they would worry.
This is a great place. I always get the best salad and penne carbonara and it is always delicious. The service is one of the best around and rates right up there with the best restaurants in Denver or Boulder. Asti d'italia never lets us down and is a great value for what you get.
The ambiance and staff were exceptional, as was their house red wine. My dinner (Chicken Orecchiette) was outstanding, but others in the group didn't rave as much about theirs, although everyone thought it was very good. Prices are moderate. Will definitely be back!
overall it was a good experience and the food was more than adequate. Service was slow as they seemed to be unprepared for several large parties on a Tuesday. The staff was aware and apologetic for the slowness of service and worked hard to provide a good experience. Our server was very personable and went out of is way to check-in with us and keep us informed. We are excited to go back and experience the service when they are better staffed.
