One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Restaurant claims they do not use open table anymore. Waited over an hour for the table. Asked to speak to a manager who never came to the table. Food was horrible!!! Sat next to the kitchen and all I heard was yelling.willnever eat there again and not recommended!

Of six meals, only one, the hamburger, was enjoyed. Most side items were burnt. Our waitress seemed cordial and concerned, while the waiter who also served our table was defensive and condescending when we brought the burnt items to his attention. Four of the six of us have worked in multiple fine dining establishments. We were sorely disappointed by this experience.

The service was fine but the food was not good and the prices were very high. We could not finish our food as the tastes and textures were unapetizing with the exception of the salad which was fresh and good. It's menu was very meat oriented and there were very few gluten -free options. The atmosphere and decor was interesting.

The food does not live up to the menu. Fried chicken was dry, and coating was rock hard. Veggie plate was unseasoned. Service was friendly but unprofessional -- plates removed while eating, drinks slow to arrive. Aircon wasn't working well on a hot day. Dessert was bland and sweet. I've had similar experiences about 3 times in a row, and now I've learned my lesson.

Very disappointing dinner after several previous visits that were great. Harvest pasta had very large pieces of vegetables, no seasoning, a bland broth that was nothing more than what had boiled off the vegetables. Korean fried chicken was over-breaded with an underdone coating. Desserts were also off the mark: crème brulee was like scrambled eggs, and the chocolate almond bread pudding was cold, dry, with no almonds baked into it--just raw slivered almonds spread alongside. We hope they rebound.

We went to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Our farmers market salad appetizer was excellent, the rest of the food was ok, but not great. My steak was very good, but the broccoli had burnt edges and the potatoes were not impressive. My husband's KFC chicken was good, but not amazing! Our server was friendly and attentive.

At the time I made a 3:00 Mother's Day brunch reservation the website showed that brunch was served until 4:00. We were given dinner menus and told that they stopped serving brunch at 2:00 and had changed that service two weeks prior, yet their website still showed brunch until 4:00. I told them I specifically booked for the brunch menu and was disappointed, the hostess said she would check with the kitchen to see if we may order something from the brunch menu and never returned.
My coffee cup was dirty with lipstick stains.
We had to ask for spoons for dessert after he passed our table about three times after being served.

I orderedt he duck, great presentation but was surprised at the lack of flavor overall in the dish, especially since there was A LOT of extra "stuff" on the plate. Service was slow but the waitress made up for it which was nice. We did not order the cheese plate but saw it from afar and it looked pretty legit. I'd go there again for a drink and the cheese plate.

We've been to Aster a dozen times since it opened and, unfortunately, this was the worst food we've had there. The menu has changed and is more limited - missing many of previous favorite items that kept us coming back (Brussel sprouts, burger, previous version of fried chicken, fries). The lobster bisque was good. The entrees we ordered were so-so. I initially ordered the KFC, but switched with my husband, who liked it okay. The steak was flavorful but not cooked well (charred on outside, despite requesting it be cooked Medium). Disappointing, as this was one of our favorite places in Syracuse due to good food and great ambience.

I had high expectations for this restaurant. It has a stunning interior and interesting menu. But, the food really disappointed. My husband's duck entree consisted of two tiny pieces of duck that looked more like an appetizer portion. The sauce on my son's girlfriend's korean chicken had an odd and off putting flavor. But the worst was the way my dish was served. It was a pasta dish that arrived with all the pasta in two big lumps stuck together that were burnt on some of the edges. It looked like it was very undercooked and then placed into the pan with the sauce which caused the edges to burn. I showed the waitress and she seemed mortified. She took the dish away and had a new one made. We ordered dessert to share which was a chocolate cake that tasted as if it had just been defrosted from the freezer. All in all a very disappointing and overpriced meal.

We visited the Aster for dinner before a Syracuse Stage show. Our food was excellent, and was served in appropriate time. We had a great time. My only criticism was that we had a new waitress, but she did her best to make our experience a good one. We will definitely return.

Had a dinner here the night before graduation. I understand the limited menu due to the large number of reservations. The food however was so overpriced, not very good and came with no other accompaniments. The Korean BBQ was a chicken leg, thigh and small breast over-fried served with massive globs of BBQ sauce. It also had another glob of over-seasoned slaw. This meal was a huge disappointment. Go somewhere else in Syracuse.

The restaurant is vast and was unfortunately not crowded. I hope they can make a go of it. My salad was a combination of tastes and textures and reasonably priced, but next time I will order the dressing on the side. Our neighbors had tea served in a beautiful tea pot and cup and saucer.

Over all nice. Odd proportions. Cup of soup in a very small cup. Cheese and sausage plate enough for 6.
Food was good but over complicated. Simple with fresh works. Suggest lose an ingredient or two.
Duck was good and pure and blueberries would have been enough.
Oh and two small pieces of duck.

Very mixed experience. 3 meals of 4 were good but the duck--the most expensive item--was overlooked. The made me a rare duck breast as originally requested but it was flavorless. Nice people so puzzling why they ignored the guy so drunk at the bar that he kept falling asleep into his food until we pointed it out and they ejected him. Hope they weren't legally responsible for supplying him with booze!

We had 6 adults and two children in our party. The server did not fully know what was on the menu, and even told us the flatbread special was beets, instead of beef (oops, that's an f). Even the menu descriptions themselves were misleading in not accurate of what we received.

Our food took over an hour to be delivered, and was luke warm to cold upon arrival. We had to ask several times for the same thing (take out container to split up kids meal before they started to eat) and when it came time for the bill she just threw it on the table without asking if we wanted it split (3 couples in our party) and walked away. She didn't seem to care about level of service at all.

High hopes, and highly disappointed.

Everything Aster had was great! However, they ran out of the house chardonnay (and did not offer to open another bottle of chardonnay and sell by the glass), they ran out of burgers (only 7 or so entrees on the menu) and they had only two choices for dessert. The hostess complained about how many people came in for dinner with no reservations (in front of us who had reservations). While everything was delicious and the server had a great sense of humor, I don't think I would go back unless I knew they had figured out their purchasing/volume. Originally I planned to go on graduation weekend - no way!
