Aspens Signature Steak Ratings and Reviews
Aspen's, while very nice, seems to be trending downward. The little things begin to add up. No longer the special spread for bread. Now it's just butter. We had prime rib and fries for dinner. The prime rib was very good but the fries were not as crispy as they used to be. They also used to offer the Mousse cake as a complimentary dessert and now the red velvet cake. Nice restaurant and ambiance. Would like to see them kick it up a notch for the money.
The menu was good. The appetizers were curious. The calamari and fried vegetables were greasy and not very flavorful. Thr bruchetta, again looked appetizing, but the bread was tough, crust was hard, and the tomato salsa was bland. The salmon was ordered done. The interior of the salmon was raw. If we had wanted sushi we would have gone to a sushi restaurant. The pork chop was presented nicely but was very tough. We would not recommend Apens to anyone used to fine cuisine.
Restaurant and Brunch was cold. Service was good. Buffet was cold with open chafing dishes. Quiche was dried out. Meats and eggs were cold. I asked server for hot sausage and he brought some from the kitchen. Our Brunch time was 12. I ordered an omelette for each of us from the bar/meat station. We found out he was the chef's/owners son. No swiss cheese for an omelette so I ordered a bacon/goat cheese omelette and a vegetable omelette for my wife. My omelette was delivered with 3 chips of bacon and a lot of goat cheese. My wife's omelette came 15 minutes later. We were told there was a mix up with the chef and son's order. We were told chef was an owner. They gave the omelette to another table but nobody came and told us that. There were only 5 tables occupied in the restaurant. A total disappointment. We brought this information to the manager who apologized and he wanted to do something for us but we informed him we would not be back.
overall a very enjoyable dinner experience. We were seated immediately upon arrival, which I always appreciate when I have a reservation. Our server (Liz) was very attentive and helpful. I had the bone-in filet, which was cooked perfectly medium rare, very tender, and tasted great with the side of Worcester and ground horseradish. I also had the cauliflower side, which was quite tasty. My wife had the Rare Tuna Two ways, seared and poke style; excellent and I highly recommend it.
I had a reservation. We were promptly seated and almost immediately were provided water and bread. Very shortly afterwards where greeted on by our server, Liz S. She explained the specials in great detail. Then inquired about drinks and appetizers. When we ordered, we didn't have to wait long before the meals were delivered. Everything was very tasty!
After many visits to the West Cobb Aspens several years ago, I was extremely pleased to see the East Cobb have the same outstanding environment, service, and food as we were accustomed to from the West Cobb location. The East Cobb location provided us a memorable evening and a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I highly recommend it and look forward to many return visits.
Server was slow getting back to us for a reorder on drinks. My wife had the trout which she thought was great. I had the prim rib which was disappointed in. I thought that I read that it was salt encrusted, however the meat was bland tasting. The cut of meat was okay, but not much taste. There were 7 of us and no one else had any negative comments, so I guess I am the only one. I did not complain to the server because I didn't want any kind of disruption to the party mode.
We love Aspen's in East Cobb. The quality of the beef is excellent and the service has always been outstanding. Had the Cowboy Cut Ribeye Steak and it was amazing. My only recommendation would be to do something different with the beef bruschetta. The bread becomes incredibly soggy and it is difficult to eat. Otherwise I would say that we had a perfect night and our 12 year anniversary was special. Thank you!
Once again we had an amazing dinner! We went there to celebrate our and my in-laws anniversary. We were celebrating 22 years and they 68 years. Our waiter was Thomas T. He was very attentive, as were all of the servers! We all had the filet mignon....that was an OMG moment...the steaks cut like butter and were cooked perfectly! I had the gouda cheese grits for my side, the truffle deviled eggs for an appetizer, both were excellent! Looking for a place to celebrate anniversary, birthday, or just a night out? This is the place! From the Hostesses to the servers you can't go wrong. Thank you Aspen's Steakhouse for the continued great service!(BTW one of the waiters made my MIL's night, she is 90 years old and has a hard time seeing and getting around, he came up and put his arm around her and told her he thought she was the most adorable person he has ever seen. She loved it!)
