Aspens Signature Steak Ratings and Reviews
We arrived a little early and chose a table in the bar area. We were seated quickly and the service was attentive all night. The bar tables are too deep. They work in the design but my wife and I were too far apart for our conversation. Luckily the people on either side of us finished their meals and left so it was not a problem
My wife had the Trout and I had the hangar steak. Both were good. I think she would say her's was 'fine". Aspen's can do better.
I love having Aspen's in the neighborhood. We enjoy going but want to see the owners stay on top of their game.
After a cocktail at bar we were seated right on time to booth in back of main dining room. Service was decent, but not exactly what we were expecting. However my wine selection and appetizer were the only things we enjoyed. My strip steak and wife's filet were properly prepared, but far from tender and the sauteed spinach loaded with salt. What was I expecting??? To me this place is a fancy Outback with way over the top pricing. For what we paid I could have just about gone to Morton's!!!
Celebrated 3 birthdays with 4 girlfriends and food was terrific. Prime rib and chicken Schnitzel are always consistently wonderful. Michelle, our waitress, was incredibly helpful selecting wine and accommodating us. Other staff stopped by to see if we needed anything. This was a wonderful experience. Red velvet cake was one of best ever with great thick cream cheese frosting and moist cake. Early bird specials are a really good value. This is a winner.
Wanted to give Aspens another chance. Waste of money. Food quality poor along with the service. Flat Iron Steak was at the the carving table. Dry and horrible. The ham had seen better days. The place was empry for a typical brunch Sunday gathering. $80.00 down the drain. Last visit for for my family. Find better options!
I have been going to this restaurant for about 2 1/2 years. I ordered Ceasar Salad with Chicken. The chicken was highly seasoned and I had to send it back. I think that when meal is sent back one should be compensated. Also the restaurant is looking a bit worn. The seating in the booths was torn. Restaurant could use some freshening. I would not bring out of town guests here because of this...
This place has been around a long time. We had our first anniversary dinner here 15 years ago. So, it was about time we got back! Though we haven't dined here many time over the last 15 years, consistency is key. Great service ( the busboy and our server, Michelle were both friendly and professional) , exceptional steak and knock your socks off sides all make this place a gem. Love they are an Open Table partner, too. When we walked up to the host stand and told them we had a reservation and told them our name, we received an immediate "Happy Anniversary!" greeting. Good stuff.
Could have been better. It's the little things that count - my prime rib came out med, not med rare, waitress forgot hubby's mac&cheese, hubby didn't get a chance to smell and taste the wine - just 'here it is', creme brulee didn't have fruit or a biscuit, etc. We had such an excellent time a month ago, that we were very disappointed this time...
We have been to Aspens several times and it was absolutely great. The food and experience always good. We dined there this evening for our anniversary, and it was a bit of a disappointment. The hostess wished us a happy anniversary but that was the extent of anything special. The waiter was oblivious. I ordered a $14 Old Fashioned, which they had on the cocktail menu. They brought my wife's drink and not mine because they said they ran out of one of the ingredients. He said they were adjusting. The waiter finally brought it over and said they ran out of the 'cherry' they use. It looked like a shot of bourbon for $14. Umm, don't bring it unless it is your best effort. I ordered the high end bone in filet cooked medium ( pink in the middle according to the menu. Overcooked for sure. Dry and flavorless. I wish I was exaggerating. Waiter never asked how it was. Maybe he was afraid after the bourbon debacle. Where was the manager on this. Why didn't he come by. Paid full price and was really disappointed. Probably because no one even asked. I guess it explained why it was half empty on a Friday night. Went somewhere else for more drinks and desserts.
Made reservations for my wife's birthday. Waiter was not notified for 15 minutes that guests were seated in his section. He recovered well though. Food was good but not great as my 12 oz bone-in filet was actually a smaller portion of meat than the standard 8oz and for significantly more money. Quality of meat and taste was not up to Aspen's standards. My wife's trout was excellent but my daughter's medium rare prime rib was served more medium to medium well. Just a bit disappointing.
As always, Aspen's delivered! Our servers went above and beyond to make our meal perfect! Ben and Stephen both suggested things and requested modifications to our dishes! The food was delicious and the cocktails and wine were spot on! Will be going back very soon!
So disappointed. We have been to Aspen's for special occasions many times over the years, but this special occasion was not so special. They knew we were celebrating a bday, we had an early reservation so there was plenty of seating and we were seated in the corner near the server's door to kitchen my view was the server's computer screen and a stone pillar. Service was not attentive, had to ask for bread and water refills several times. My adult son ordered fish ($28) and got a tiny pieces of fish, which was very dry and overcooked, he just ate the rice and a couple bites of fish. Server never came by to check on us and when she did come to clear plates I told server fish was not good and she did nothing. In the past they would give a nice complimentary dessert for a bday, very nice, but this complimentary dessert was insulting... it was a tiny silver of cake no bigger than 1 inch (it was less than 1/4 the size of what the dessert is if you order it). I have never seen such a small piece of cake ever! Never asked if we would like coffee or an after dinner drink or if anyone else at the table would like dessert. I regret selecting Aspens for my birthday dinner because I just left feeling not so special and rather irritated by the whole experience.
What a disappointing evening. Seated at 730. Ordered oysters at 745. Oysters arrived at 8:15. Dinner was similarly very late. We did not finish until 10 and that was not because we were lingering. Something was going on in the kitchen - thirty minutes between courses is a clear indication someone is not running the kitchen. Food quality was just OK. Not surprisingly, two entrees were cold when they arrived. Shrimp on shrimp cocktail heavily overcooked. Salads underdressed.
We went to brunch at Aspen's to celebrate Father's Day. We love the brunch, and there is a huge variety of yummy breakfast and lunch items from which our family of five enjoys choosing. The service is always helpful and friendly. It's always a pleasure celebrating special occasions at Aspen's.
We have been living in East Cobb for years but never gone to Aspen's. We usually go to the city to Chops or Bones. We enjoyed the short rib egg rolls and oyster rocafeller for appetizers. For dinner we had the Prime Rib and the Haliibut special. Everything was great. I'm glad that we decided to try Aspen's! Fine steakhouse right in the neighborhood..what a gem! We will be back for sure.
Best place in East Cobb. Aspen's has many unique, but not obscure, items on the menu - lamb chops last time,... veal this time. Stellar service ("Tim!") and best-of-breed wine collection; the best Chef for miles. $$$ to $$$$, but worth it. Aspen's is not another "pricey but only average" place; it's seriously the best.
Love free kids meal with good grades.
Love corn and schnitzel
Waiter was great n had great storie including why no more smores, a family was drunk and caught a table on fire and thsy had to use extinguishers.
Great egg roll app.
Key lime pie was not limey, more like cheesecake.
Get the short rib egg rolls appetizer. Fantastic.
Waitstaff is helpful without getting annoying.
Service was very well-paced.
Only complaint; I got a nastygram from OpenTable for not honoring my reservation. Guessing the host forgot to send something to them? It's really nothing; honestly I don't care, I've just never had that happen before.
