The food, like it always has been, was very good and the service was excellent. The atmosphere wasn't quite as good as before the pandemic because of having to block off and space tables to meet the new guidelines but it did make for a much quitter setting.
Our first dinner outing since the pandemic began was an excellent experience! Aspens did an outstanding job preparing their dining area for appropriate social distancing with the tables, the staff, the wait (in cars until our table was ready), the reservations. Lauren was our waitress, friendly and sweet and attentive. And the food - prime rib and petite steak - was wonderful in taste and preparation. The gouda grits were fair but the salad we shared for an appetizer was also tasty. I'd recommend Aspens for anyone celebrating a special occasion (it was our anniversary) or just ready to dine in fine fashion. We'll be back!
We love it at Aspens Food service and ambience are great
Apens has been our go-to place for special occasions since it opened, so when my wife's birthday coincided with our ability to escape the quarantine and get out, there really wasn't a lot of discussion on where we were going to go. A little eerie with the hostess meeting us with mask and gloves, but I get it -- err on the side of caution and let us know you're taking this thing seriously. Table was fine, with disposable menus and water waiting for us. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Started with a couple cocktails -- mine's easy, a nice single malt -- my wife is particular -- a Belvedere martini with blue-cheese stuffed olives. We explained that we wanted it shaken a lot so ice crystals were visible -- a weak attempt by the bartender, topped off by olives that seemed a bit bitter -- Oh well, wine's up next... Placed our orders -- Ribeye, Prime Rib, a wedge salad to split and a couple vegetables. Ribeye arrived overdone for my wife's liking, so it got sent back -- replacement was perfect. Next is where I learned my lesson -- if we ever choose to return, we won't let them know it is a special occasion, because the hokey "free" dessert was a piece of funfetti cake and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Tasted like a box mix one of my kids would have made 10 years ago. So I just spent $150 on food and drink and the taste that is left in my mouth is just nasty. Probably my only complaint of our server was that she didn't warn us ahead of time. I would have preferred to either forego dessert or order something I would have paid for rather than experiencing that. I really expect more from Aspens -- and an experience that will make me think twice before we visit again.
Outstanding food and service! Very clean and proper social distancing. Will definitely be back!
We decided to celebrate out 10th anniversary at Aspens. We were excited to dine here as our previous meals there were outstanding.
We made our reservations and had looked at their website to see the menus.
We decided to eat a little earlier to get the early bird menu. When we arrived we were notified that it wasn't being offered at this time, but we found great options to have despite this menu not available.
My wife ordered the trout, even though the waitress said that her clients enjoyed the salmon more... We should have listened to her as the trout didn't have much flavor.
I ordered the Steak Frittes....I asked for no spices on it, but there was some... It repeated on me all night. The baked potato and salad were excellent though!.
Our server was outstanding!
The food and service were great. The only thing I would change was the lighting it was all the way up, if the lights were dimmed it would have set the ambiance better.
Aspen's never disappoints! So wonderful to see you back open and your staff was amazing at making it a safe and enjoyable experience!
Great steak & seafood with a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended for a relaxed special dinner occasion.
I had the prime rib and my husband has the special which was lamb chops. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. We also had the special appetizer which was Argentina red shrimp in a chipotle sauce, fantastic, shrimp cooked perfectly. It was our anniversary and they surprised us with a dessert! Matt, our waiter was great! Thanks Chef!!
Outstanding food, service, and experience. As always....
The dinner selection, appetizers, and service exceeded our expectations. having passed by this restaurant but never tried it my girlfriend and I were surprised at how delicious the food was. We will be back!
Everything was spectacular !!
Always a great place to eat. One of our favorites
I just love this restaurant! Besides good food, the atmosphere makes you feel so cozy. Service is always good.
We went to Aspens for my birthday dinner. The service was great, very friendly server. Food was delicious. And the atmosphere is cozy and rustic. Highly recommend!
Our waitress was awesome. She made the meal great. A loud party put a damper on the evening for most diners. It was my first time there and I dine out often. Will definitely go back.
Good overall family dining experience.
Great food and service. Will return soon.
Our favorite place in East Cobb...love the food, service and atmosphere!
Server was erratic. No ice cream with dessert served as stated crisp dry. Took too long to get bill she didnt know how to split it.
We went for our anniversary, I had the Duo Medallions which were perfect, exactly as ordered. The wine list is fairly extensive but not overwhelming. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely be back.
Visited on Friday night with wife and 2 kids, it was all wonderful!
Food is always excellent and so is service. But last Friday, we had to ask for a server after a 10 minute wait and wait another 10 minute for my cocktail. Server wanted us to order dinner before cocktail was served.
We had a wonderful time as always
Aspens always has great food and service. We use it for special occasions. Never disappointed when we visit.
Food was spectacular, as usual, but the waitress didn’t check on us to see if we needed more drinks (we did), or how we were doing. We eventually were able to flag her down, which shouldn’t be necessary.
Besides good food and service Aspens has a great ambiance and a wonderful bartender (Richie) who remembers what I like to drink.
While our steaks were cooked perfectly and very tender, the overall presentation was lacking. We both ordered the mashed potatoes and they were just warm. I ordered the Medallions, Oscar style. The crab meat was mixed with the Bearnaise sauce and no sign of asparagus. These were served separated with the potatoes plopped in the middle. My husband ordered the filet and it was served on a very large plate with the potatoes served separately. I also ordered the French Onion soup, this was very weak and watery. A real disappointment.
Every meal at Aspen's is one of the best we've ever had! Service was exceptional.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Worst meal I have had at any restaurant in a long time. Brought our entree out before the appetizer. Took them back, waitress forgot to enter app. Brought app, then our entrees—same entrees as before. My wife’s was cold, mine was barely warm. I could not cut my prime rib with the huge knife they gave me. Toughest excuse for prime rib I have ever seen. My wife did not want me to ask for manager—he NEVER came by our table. Poor management. We gave up, paid the check, took the bottle of wine we had bought and went home Wouldn’t go back here for a free whole cow, and would not recommend to anyone.
I would rate a zero if it were an option.
We have dined
Consistently good food and service. Our server, “Lauren” was terrific. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, but not overly so. One of our favorite restaurants!
Aspens has been my go to in East Cobb for 15 years when looking for an upscale steak; without going to Roswell or fighting traffic to Buckhead or downtown. This last experience left me wanting. Food quality seemed more on par with Longhorn, not StoneyRiver. French onion soup had no cheese topping. Oscar topping for steak was more along the lines of a stuffing not lump crab topping. Our waiter said they were between chefs. I hope they get a good one and fast. At $100/head, they won’t survive long with the product they are putting out. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but 2or 3X’s Longhorn good. If they are going to charge - StoneyRiver, Little Alley, Ruth’s Chris........money, the product needs to be on par.
Best Crab Appetizer I've ever had. The Filet Oscar was outstanding. One of my wife and I places to go.
Sunday brunch in the past has been good, but dinner this past weekend was awful.
First, made reservations weeks ago but was seated next to the bar. I had my back to the bar and honestly thought a man rambling loudly above the din about his big screen TV and how much he DIDN'T like the Ribeye there was drunk and about to be escorted out...that is, until my wife told me it was the BARTENDER!
Next--service. Our waiter was a nice guy who mostly seemed like he cared, but clearly was not up to this. It's not advisable to tell your table multiple times; "Yeah, I should know that, but I haven't been here in a few weeks." That sums up our service. Twice he came over to apologize for the long wait and said the manager would be over to "take care of it." Someone came over all right...not sure if it was the manager because he didn't introduce himself. He apologized for the wait also...but didn't actually do anything about it. After he left, we waited some more. Our check wasn't discounted, so I'm not sure why the manager was sent over.
The food: good, solid, but portions were small. My side of asparagus was 3 thin pieces. Our crab cake appetizer was tasty, but very tiny.
Overall, very disappointing. We liked Aspens enough to rent a private room for my mother-in-law's birthday party, so we're certainly no newbies to the place.
Excellent food and service! Such a pretty place to have dinner with great ambiance. Great wedge salad and sides as well as prime rib.
Always enjoyable dining at Aspens. The service, food and ambiance is great for relaxing and conversing. I rated the food four stars this time since the steak frites was over salted. I order this dish often and probably should have given feedback at the time. We also like that Aspens doesn’t require a set menu on holidays. It’s GF and dairy friendly.
Had a great a Valentines Day dinner. The medallions were very tender and the sauce was delicious. Our server (I believe her name was Thelma), was attentive ( but not overly ) she recommended a Pinot Noir) was outstanding. We have been going to this restaurant since it opened and the food is always good, but that night ir was exceptional.
