Aspen Grille Ratings and Reviews
A creative take on American/Southern cooking that has always made me a happy visitor. Bartenders Scully and Alan are way above professional grade. Genuinely friendly, quick to assist and spot on with the mixes. The food is always fresh, a little surprising in a very good way and served in portions that often leave you some to take home. Awesome desserts too!
The Aspen Grille never fails to achieve the best possible experience. The food is usually local and always fresh. The combination of tastes exceeds my expectations every time. Not sure how it can possibly get better but it does. Highly recommend the scallop dish over mushroom risotto with fried spinach. Not sure how they get the delicate crunch on that spinach, but the flavors are so special. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. Can’t brag enough about this place.
We celebrated our anniversary here and one of the OWNERS had a handwritten ‘Happy Anniversay Card’ at our table with congratulations and thanking us for coming to Aspen Grille for our anniversary! Our very kind server brought our bread and I knew when I tasted that bread, we had made a good choice (I am very picky about bread). My husband loves French Onion Soup (which he is very picky about-he gave it a 10!!). For his entree he had the Shrimp and Grits which I also tried and it was the BEST either of us have ever eaten- a perfect brown gravy is hard to do but the chef nailed it to perfection. i had the Scallops with fried spinach and mushroom risotto—out of this world!!! You are going to be amazed how tender the scallops are plus you will be pleasantly surprised as the fried spinach literally melts in your mouth. I had rose with my meal and I thought it went very well with the scallops. IF you have room, the French flourless chocolate cake is a good choice.
Our new favorite place in Myrtle Beach—what a TALENTED chef!!!
Seared scallops with fried spinach: If you like scallops and are in Myrtle Beach you must eat here. Probably the best scallops I have ever eaten (and I have been eating scallops at least 50 years)! I almost didn't order because they are a bit pricey ($36), but so glad I did.
Staff was so wonderful and made my boyfriend's 30th birthday special! Food was really good and it wasn't overly busy, so that was nice. They had a personal card for him, and I requested glasses of champagne, which were ready upon our arrival. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. Lamb was very good and he enjoyed the strip. We will definitely be back.
Has a diverse and interesting menu. For starters the salads and escargot were excellent. The duck confit was very tasty and tender. The lamb was succulent with a flavorful sauce. The only disappointment was the duck breast which was very fatty. Desserts were great!
I never write reviews but my husband and I went here for our anniversary and it exceeded our expectations. We had a hard time deciding on what to order because everything on the menu sounded great. As an appetizer, we ordered the special lobster bites and salads with their homemade caesar dressing and some kind of vinaigrette that had an amazing flavor. When you're wowed by a salad, you know the food has to be great. I decided on the seared duck breast and my husband got the special hog nose snapper; both entree's were delicious. In addition to the incredible food and our very attentive waiter, the ambiance far exceeded my expectations. They had a singer with an amazing voice. She sang a variety of songs from different genres but all with a jazzy flare. Since it was our anniversary, my husband asked if she took requests and luckily she did. She sang our wedding song, Alicia Key "If I ain't got You"; despite it being her first time singing it, she was spectacular! I would highly recommend this place for a special occasion or date night. Unfortunately, we don't live in the area but next time we're in MB, we'll go back!
All four people at our table thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We were having dinner with people whom we had not seen in almost thirty years so we chose Aspen Grille as a top notch place to spend dinner time with them. Our waiter was superb, the food was great and the evening was most enjoyable.
I was excited to try this restaurant out based on the menu as I was in town for a conference. Unfortunately, we did not eat because of poor hospitality from a hostess. She was rude to my friend which in turn upset others, including myself, at the table. We left. So disappointing!
This is the second time we’ve been here last was 3 years ago when visiting from Connecticut. We have been talking about it since then and couldn’t wait to share with dear friends. Tonight was everything we’d remembered and more. The food was top quality, service personal and attentive, desserts were amazing. We wish they were in Connecticut so we could frequent more often. If you’re looking for an dining ‘experience’ while on vacation- this is the place.
It was our anniversary so we wanted a nice place for dinner Aspen Grille was very good We felt a little rushed even though the restaurant was only 1/2 full The food was very good although my wife's sea scallops were a bit undercooked We unfortunately sat next to a couple where we could hear their entire conversation It put a damper on our anniversary celebration I would recommend the Aspen Grille
Aspen Grille remains at the top of my Myrtle Beach list. Always good food, very attentive service both in a clubby type atmosphere. Thursday night was Jazz night which was just delightful. The fresh catch is a changing treat and the wine list offers lots of interesting choices.
after spending most of last 10 years dining here, we stopped for a year because they changed a signature dish. A year later, after customer feedback they want back to original recipe. That was last year. This year they changed it again, for the worse- they were better off with the first change. The chef refused to can remake it as original, i was told no- order something else. So we left and will not return until they remake original. They did not charge for my meal, which was nice. Waitstaff was great , we tipped them well . Too bad they didnt learn their lesson- 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Ambiance is great with live singer who was very good. Romantic setting, excellent service with knowledgeable waiter. Food was major disappointment. Ordered lobster bisque @ $10, was average at best. Then grouper with mushroom risotto..$36. Grouper was waaaaaay overcooked. The risotto was an additional $2 upcharge. It was below average. I think my 10 year old daughter can make a better risotto. The restaurant would be excellent if it had a new chef. The current chef sucks. There are much better culinary choices in Myrtle Beach!
Booked for my wife's birthday. No mention by staff of the occasion. Poor management follow up for momentous moments in client's lives. Will definitely not return.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner at the Aspen Grille. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and a written note of congratulation was left on our table from the owners and staff. What a special touch! Dinner was delicious and prepared with unique touches. My escargot appetizer featured slices of mushrooms. We both ordered Surf n Turf. The lobster, prepared "Aspen" style, was very flavorful and tender. It had been sautéed in a special sauce. Our beef was prepared exactly as we like. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive but not intrusive. We never felt rushed and had time to enjoy each course. We will definitely return again when vacationing in Myrtle Beach!
