Asiate Ratings and Reviews
Excellent service, beautiful set and marvelous view from the top of the 35th floor on the Time Warner Building!
Now, about the food, the least I can say is that it was disappointing.
It was a previous set Valentines menu, starting with some breads (none of which came warm to the table), followed by a tiny little oyster as a starter (which I swallowed without even noticing it), a Foi Gras with Black Truffle with no taste at all (although the two ingredients are known to be very tasty) as a second course, a Wagyu ok as an entrée, and a good White Chocolate Mousse as dessert.
The price for that? Although I was aware and willing to pay for a well done food in a very nice ambience, it was definitely very high for what we’ve got.
My wife’s opinion? The same as mine, but for the Entrée, which for her was not even ok.
By the way, when we were leaving, Annabelle and her colleague, whom have treated us very well all the time, asked us about our experience, which we honestly told them. I hope they have told management about it.
After checking the menu on OpenTable, I made a reservation for lunch only to discover the menu was incorrect! The price fix lunch was $45 not $38 And the appetizers online were not the ones served by the restaurant, neither of which I was able to eat because of dietary restrictions. Either open table or the restaurant should update the listing. I found portions on the regular menu to be small. For example the serving of “turnips” which came with the duck breast consisted of three small wedges the size of a grape! On the plus side service was attentive And the view magnificent.
It started with having a gentlemen with his hired date sitting in front of us and her companion, wing girl. Constantly taking photos on each other’s laps, leaving and returning several times. Then another couple face timing on the other side of us, thankfully the manager ended that. Service was very attentive. The food was lackluster in appearance and was stale and overdone. A black truffle pasta with fresh shavings had zero flavor. Desserts were dry and seemingly sitting for too long.
For a $400 meal for 2 people, I would highly recommend all guests stay away. It’s really not good. Overrated for food, except for the view and ambience.
What an incredible experience. From beginning to end we experienced nothing but top notch service. The young Maitre D Jonathan Caretsky and his brilliant team took such great care of my husband and I throughout the night.
We will definitely be visiting again.
I have long been a fan of Asiate. One challenge for fine dining restaurants is to maintain consistency. Asiate excels in that regard - always a warm and welcome, great at honoring reservations, creative cuisine ranging from simple, elegant items to food through which creative chefs in the kitchen express their art. The service is great, the food is great, the prices are reasonable for a high end restaurant. And the spectacular view of Columbus Circle and Central Park can't be beat.
it is an amazing view over Central Park, nice decor and ambiance, brunch menu was balanced and the wine list excellent, pace of food was good and the service overall was excellent, welcoming was great and we had enough space to carry out a private conversation, prices are high but the restaurant is unique
Upset that I asked to move to a table near a window but was informed “no more reservations for a party of 2 near the window” when a party of 2 cane after us and were seated closer to the window I complained. At that point the story changed, now it was that they reserved before us. I guess more people that cane later on and sat near the window, that’s their logic. That put a damper on our anniversary celebration.
food and service were great. but, unfortunately, the evening was spoiled, because from our desk were stolen wireless headphones Apple. I guess they were stolen by one of the waiters who served our table, at the moment when we went to the toilet, the headphones were on the table. I left my phone number, but the manager never called me back. the evening was ruined. I did not expect that in such a beautiful restaurant, they can steal.
The restaurant staff was very kind to us. As we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary we asked and Asiate did provide a nice table with a good view of the city for both of us (there were tables at the restaurant in which one chair was placed towards the window and the other chair backwards). We do recommend this restaurant for those who are looking for a very unique experience in very special occasions.
My mom was visiting NY from Japan for the first time. When I made a reservation, i left a note that I'd love to have a table with the nice view for my mom and they accommodate it perfectly. Some part of me was thinking that I'm paying for the view and not entirely for the quality of dishes but I was proven wrong. We very much enjoyed the dishes and my favorite was foie gras with lychee. My mom seems to like lobster. We felt like all the stuffs were carefully making sure that we enjoy our time, chef, servers, receptionist and lady at the coat check too.
It's not an every day dining place for the cost but certainly the one of the best options for having quality time with special someone on special occasions.
We went for Saturday breakfast. The food was excellent. We had the American breakfast - bacon for me, sausage for him. The views are spectacular, and the service was super friendly.
The second time we visited was for Christmas dinner. The portions were just right and the dessert was incredible. The view at night was just as good as the view in the morning. The hamachi crudo was very delicious!
Would visit again if I’m ever in NYC :)
