Asiate Ratings and Reviews
it is an amazing view over Central Park, nice decor and ambiance, brunch menu was balanced and the wine list excellent, pace of food was good and the service overall was excellent, welcoming was great and we had enough space to carry out a private conversation, prices are high but the restaurant is unique
Upset that I asked to move to a table near a window but was informed “no more reservations for a party of 2 near the window” when a party of 2 cane after us and were seated closer to the window I complained. At that point the story changed, now it was that they reserved before us. I guess more people that cane later on and sat near the window, that’s their logic. That put a damper on our anniversary celebration.
food and service were great. but, unfortunately, the evening was spoiled, because from our desk were stolen wireless headphones Apple. I guess they were stolen by one of the waiters who served our table, at the moment when we went to the toilet, the headphones were on the table. I left my phone number, but the manager never called me back. the evening was ruined. I did not expect that in such a beautiful restaurant, they can steal.
The restaurant staff was very kind to us. As we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary we asked and Asiate did provide a nice table with a good view of the city for both of us (there were tables at the restaurant in which one chair was placed towards the window and the other chair backwards). We do recommend this restaurant for those who are looking for a very unique experience in very special occasions.
My mom was visiting NY from Japan for the first time. When I made a reservation, i left a note that I'd love to have a table with the nice view for my mom and they accommodate it perfectly. Some part of me was thinking that I'm paying for the view and not entirely for the quality of dishes but I was proven wrong. We very much enjoyed the dishes and my favorite was foie gras with lychee. My mom seems to like lobster. We felt like all the stuffs were carefully making sure that we enjoy our time, chef, servers, receptionist and lady at the coat check too.
It's not an every day dining place for the cost but certainly the one of the best options for having quality time with special someone on special occasions.
We went for Saturday breakfast. The food was excellent. We had the American breakfast - bacon for me, sausage for him. The views are spectacular, and the service was super friendly.
The second time we visited was for Christmas dinner. The portions were just right and the dessert was incredible. The view at night was just as good as the view in the morning. The hamachi crudo was very delicious!
Would visit again if I’m ever in NYC :)
Was the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had. The service there is atrocious. The server dropped the plates on the table with a big clang. Picking up the dishes he dropped the utensils on the plate as he cleaned up. When he brought us the check he just stood there waiting for me to pay. After i paid he took the cash and then came back and stood there waiting for us to leave.
If I am going to drop a thousand dollars on dinner for four people, put on my best suit, and bring my clients on dinner on a Monday night; I expect the service to have manners. I took my clients there expecting to impress but instead made my clients feel like I took them to some random place.
The food was sub par as well. Truffles were not shaved table side, fish was bland and the deserts were pretty but not tasty.
I will never go there again and would warn everyone not to go either.
Malheureusement ASIATE n'est plus l'ASIATE que j'ai connu et fréquenté pour sa cuisine originale et raffinée. J'ai appris que le chef avait changé il ya quelques mois :
Cuisine sans originalité ;
It was my husband’s 50th birthday and I wanted him to feel special. I informed the hostes and waiters multiple times, unfortunately the service we received was way below average. The restaurant looks nice the main course was unbelievable everything else very disappointing, not worth the money. I would not recommend this place for any special events.
First and foremost, you are paying for the name and the view. The food is par for the course and the service was a bit slow. Even with multiple attempts at securing a window seat (by requesting it on OpenTable and by a phone call), we were seated 15 feet from the window (hardly a window seat).
I'd give this place a chance for dinner service with an actual window seat.
I liked the fact that a mandatory gratuity is only for parties of 5 (or 6)+ people.
I never take the time to review but wanted to make one for this restaurant as my husband and I were very disappointed.
The only thing this restaurant has going for it are the views. The food was mediocre especially given the price tag. Plus, they try to stuff you with lots of bread. The portions are so small you end up eating more bread than one would like.
The staff was sleepy and did not make us feel special until we went out of our way to mention it was our anniversary.
The hotel and management have an opportunity to make this a truly one-of-a-kind experience but you get the sense they're just phoning it in.
Unless you are staying in the hotel, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. NYC has too many good ones and this one just doesn't compete.
Beatiful restaurant with a very nice view of the city.
Staff very friendly and the menu with a variety, healthy and high quality.
The treatment was exquisitive and very attentive.
It was our anniversary an a surprise they brought us a cake, and unforgettable detail.
I recommend it to everybody.
Thanks you for making a special night.
