Three kids and one adult. Tasting meny. No taste. Totaly uninspired. Course three were served When to kids were at the toilet. Sweet potato and driedcarrots...
We had one sparkling. Three glass of wine. 4 cokes.
Totaly cost for the night: 600 USD!!!
Its a joke. NEVER AGAIN.
Noeone said goodbye. Waiters seemed tired and the food had Absolutely no taste at all!!!!
I love the setting and view. The food was very good, but the prices were extremely aggressive for lunch. I would recommend this to a friend, but warn of the prices. Many other choices for good food in NYC with less aggressive pricing, but you are really paying for the view.....
Courteous staff and delicious (though pricey) food. Unbeatable view of the park as well.
For the price we paid.. food was way below expectation.. not at all impressive considering this restaurant is housed in the Mandarin Oriental. The staff was v courteous and the ambience was really nice but not worth the price.
Atmosphere is great. Love the view. However, the food didn’t live up the expectation.
Meh. Food mediocre at best. Service same. Don’t need to go back.
I love Asiate, everything it’s very very good!!!
Very extensive wine list, very good food, and beautiful views. Service was good, but bit slow.
Service n food was underwhelming and a bit disappointing given the price and location
Phenomenal dinner and Daniel provided warm and knowledgeable service.
Everything's perfect. Especially view was so nice!
Great view combined with great food and excellent service. A winner!
Cocktails are a bit pricey ( mid $20’s) and were not exciting, had much better cocktails the night before at taboon for about half the price. Otherwise, an enjoyable evening, except for the table.
As others have stated, even though I asked for a table by the window (birthday dinner) and there was a free table, we were not given the table (even though I was told on the phone, it was first come, first serve).
A single woman walked in several minutes later, was given the table, a man joined her 10 minutes later, they each drank half of their cocktails and then promptly got up and left. The table remained empty the rest of the evening. (It does take about 3 hours for dinner if you enjoy cocktails first. )
In all fairness, we should have been given the table. I think that’s the main reason the restaurant gets a bad rep.
I chose this restaurant to dine for my wife's 40th birthday and it didn't disappoint. Initially I was a little disappointed as I was not given a window seat despite making this request when I made the reservation several weeks in advance. That said, when I mentioned this to the staff they did move us later on in our meal when a window table became available, which was nice. Not to say that our initial table was poor.
Our meal was a fixed menu and we paid extra for the Wagu Beef which was amazing, definitely worth the extra. The main course had 2 portions of Wagu, one that had been pan fried with the other being slow cooked.......Amazing. All courses were truly amazing which is a complement given that many fine restaurant exist in New York. I would definitely recommend Asiate for a special occasion meal.....my wife had a birthday plate of a cake and candle which was an unexpected surprise.
Very romantic setting overseeing Central Park
it’s my birthday & Asiate gave me a birthday cake & candle to blow. just wanna thank you Asiate! i appreciate it so much.
Outstanding experience all round from the greeting to the end of the meal
My family and I dined in Asiate on the last night of our NY visit. We were excited and was hoping for a wonderful dinner. The restaurant was elegantly design and we got a good table by the window with a nice view. So far so good....everything was looking great, but it went downhill quickly
Our experience was tarnished by the impersonal and rude attitude of our server. From the moment he introduced himself, there was no attempt to be warm and friendly. He almost tossed the menu to my wife, made no attempt to describe the menu, did not serve us our food and drinks, did not check on us mid-way through our meal, was mostly absent from the table, did not make us feel welcome.
The only other time we saw him again was when he handed us the check. We paid the bill and with the service that we received, did not think that he should received a 20% tip. We left him a small tip and left. What was surprising to me is that this server had the gall to chase us down the lobby and requested for more tip...! Only after I said that I did not enjoyed our experience that he left us...with no attempt to find out why or apologize.
For such an elegant restaurant, inside one of the most respected hotel (Mandarin Oriental) in the world, to have such a service attitude is just a shame.
This was one of those “New York” summer nights, beautiful views of the city experiences. The food was amazing, the views were to die for and the atmosphere- elegance and class! Excellent place! A must on my list. We’ll be back! :)
The entire dining experience was incredible. The food was perfect, the waiters were attentive and knowledgeable, and the view is unbeatable.
Expensive but well worth it.
Food, service and views!
Wow, great view. Excellent service. Wonderful food. This is a great dining experience. Highly recommend for special occasions. Be sure to arrive before dark to take advantage of the view.
Nice atmosphere even though the view wasn't as beautiful as i expected. The food was good, nothing exceptional.
We spent 300$ in 2, and honestly I excepcted more.
The food is great, as well as the service and location. Perfect, from the beginning until the end.
Fixed price lunch is good value. Our lunch lasted three hours and we were never rushed. Sit by window and enjoy view of Central Park.
Great service, food, and setting. Food was a bit pricey for what we got, but still worth the trip.
Everyone was very polite and professional, although it was very expensive, I enjoyed everything! Thank you!
Very nice view and excellent service. Food is good and desserts delicious. It is a 3 step dinner.
Food was great, but the timing of the courses was odd. Lots of long gaps. The cocktails are not a strength. Stick with wine.
Quality you would expect , Service was attentive, food was small portions but exquisite and view is spectacular.
5 star rating in every way! Thank you Asiate NYC for making my birthday dinner wonderful!
We were celebrating my birthday . Food was fantastic and Service very pleasant . Only negative: the air condition was way too cold. I was freezing all the time. Otherwise we’ve had another glass of wine.
We took our daughter for her 17th birthday. The view was incredible, food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Since we are relocating our offices nearby, this place has a huge vote of confidence for me and I will likely use it for client events.
Food and service was great!
Great food, great service, stunning views
It was just awesome as always
Don’t miss the desserts. We liked them much
Excelente servicio y atención
A gorgeous restaurant with fantastic views and exquisite food. Do allow a minimum of 2 hours for a good dining experience. We went pre- ballet for a 7:30 curtain and the restaurant does not open till 6pm. This kind of meal should not be rushed.
