A gorgeous restaurant with fantastic views and exquisite food. Do allow a minimum of 2 hours for a good dining experience. We went pre- ballet for a 7:30 curtain and the restaurant does not open till 6pm. This kind of meal should not be rushed.

The restaurant is gorgeous, as are the views of Central Park (restaurant is on 35th floor) and the food/service was spectacular.

Dining room and ambiance were lovely. The food is beautiful but bland and, in some cases, tasteless. The waiters were attentive but clueless. When my partner told them he had a particular food allergy when they took our order, they then proceeded to bring him an amuse bouche that contained the food he is allergic to.

Everything was AMAZING. We had cocktails at the Library speak-easy before dinner, which was a wonderful experience, as well. The service, wine and food at Asiate were fabulous. We had an attentive sommelier and the dishes were perfection (my wife had the Wagyu beef and I had the duck). It’s the Mandarin Oriental, so prepare to pay - but definitely worth it.

Asiate is one of my favorite NYC restaurants. The food is amazing, the views (especially at the window tables) are fantastic, the service is flawless. I recently ate there with a business associate who had never been there before, and he kept commenting on how this was the best food he ever ate. I may just agree with him.

This restaurant is obviously for special occasions unless you can afford to eat here regularly. My wife and I went here for the view and her birthday. We had to pay 50$ per person to sit by the window. However the view was worth it. 95 dollars per person for a 3 course meal. The food was absolutely magnificent and definitely worth the price. The portions are not overly large, however you don’t feel like you are being cheated either. The quality of the food and the combination of flavors really made us happy.
The service was over the top amazing. Sergio was really magnificent and knowledgeable. All in all you will spend about 400-500$ here on the low end. Assuming 100$ bottle of wine and a standard tip.

That being said. As a special occasion definitely worth the view and the service. We will come here again because of the waiter Sergio.

I gave five stars for value even if a bottle of wine won’t cost you less than a hundred dollars. Which is typical. But not very well valued. I’m not a wine connoisseur so take it as you will.

Booked 2 months in advance for a window view, didn’t got it.
Food was fine, excepted the « fois gras » which missed taste (maybe acustomed to french one).
Service was too fast and explanations were poor.
Good resraurant but definetely not worth this price.
(I use to go to michelin star restaurant)

Deplorable services, the waiters are too fast and throw the dishes on the table, their looks are fleeing and no descriptions or presentations of the dishes chosen. Food too much fat and oil, if I compare with the hotel 4seasons and Shangri La hotel, you are well sucked. Be more attentive to the cleanliness of your premises
and the desires of your customers. I'll put you 3/10 and never going back again. Knowing your previous director, I am really disappointed with this meal and will not hesitate to add my comments to your superiors. I hope your restaurant will really wait for the high range. Thank you.

When I made the dinner reservation, I had already mentioned it’s for anniversary celebration. None of the server greeted us while we were dining there! Also when we were still working on one of our entree, our server brought up our next dish & put it on the middle of the table, so we have to rush ourself to finish the dish we were working on. Poor service !

My food was just okay, the chairs were worn and mine was sticky. I went here twice a few years ago, but this time was just okay, and certainly not worth the price. The space is amazing, and they should take the food more seriously.

Absolutely amazing experience!
My first time in NYC and I simply googled best view in NYC - and what a view it was! We had a lovely clear evening and enjoyed the view of the park and the rising city around us. The food was exquisite and the service was lovely, prompt, and so understanding of my allergies. Any time I am back in NYC I will be coming here!

The beetroot appetizer was simply beetroot with a tiny drop of balsamic. It was nothing more. Given it represented about $35 of the $95 charged for the 3 course set menu, this was offensive. The scallops didn't come with enough of the two sauces for their flavor to be significant enough (i could only taste coriander (Cilantro) in the green by putting it alone in my mouth and there wasn't enough left do do anything with).

Two blanched micro turnips added absolutely nothing to this dish. Most of us lay people who know how to cook can sear and pan fry scallops as well, so why am I paying for this dish at Asiate? What's the extra I can't get at home? It's missing at Asiate.

The main courses - 1) Tofu with a burnt eggplant paste eaten by my date. - the ash smell of the burnt eggplant taste was so overpowering it came over to my side of the table and interfered with my fish dish. It tasted like yeast or beef extract paste (think a filler mixed with Bovril).

2) The Halibut was slightly overcooked and was served in a cheesy garlic sauce. This dish was more diner than fine dining and i don't like diner food.

The desserts - the chocolate cakes are better at a Patisserie chain at Columbus Circle like the one next to Argo.

The only saving grace of the restaurant is the atmosphere. But my perception is the people who work here are not 100% passionate about the details and about the ingredients and about wowing customers with food.

This was quite the dining experience. Every dish was presented as a work of art. Beautiful plating and divine tasting. Be prepared to open your wallet but for a special occasion, this is the place to go in NYC. Stunning views, impeccable service and food. It was my daughter’s birthday and they couldn’t have made it any more special. A night to remember.

Fantastic experience and perfect for a special occasion. The dining room is gorgeous with large windows overlooking Columbus Circle and Central Park. Makes an impact. Went there for my wife's birthday. Definitely not an inexpensive meal, but the prix fix was actually a pretty good value and the food was delicious. We both ordered fish (salmon & cod) and they were inventively prepared and perfectly cooked. Extensive wine list. Unlike many restaurants the deserts were at the same level as the main course. Service was fantastic, from the birthday desert they brought out to one of the server's offering to take photographs for us. Really no complaints and would definitely go back...just be prepared for a large bill.

Vraiment dommage...

Our server was MIA most of the evening. This was our 4th visit to Asiate over the years. 2 hits and 2 misses. This one was a miss and was so awful that there will not be a 5th. We both ordered Salmon for our main course which arrived cold and clearly not at all cooked and definitely not seasoned. The starters were good— hamachi for one of us and caviar for the other. Hard to go wrong with either choice. It has beautiful views from any table. Too bad the food and service were sadly lacking.
