My food was just okay, the chairs were worn and mine was sticky. I went here twice a few years ago, but this time was just okay, and certainly not worth the price. The space is amazing, and they should take the food more seriously.
Absolutely amazing experience!
My first time in NYC and I simply googled best view in NYC - and what a view it was! We had a lovely clear evening and enjoyed the view of the park and the rising city around us. The food was exquisite and the service was lovely, prompt, and so understanding of my allergies. Any time I am back in NYC I will be coming here!
The beetroot appetizer was simply beetroot with a tiny drop of balsamic. It was nothing more. Given it represented about $35 of the $95 charged for the 3 course set menu, this was offensive. The scallops didn't come with enough of the two sauces for their flavor to be significant enough (i could only taste coriander (Cilantro) in the green by putting it alone in my mouth and there wasn't enough left do do anything with).
Two blanched micro turnips added absolutely nothing to this dish. Most of us lay people who know how to cook can sear and pan fry scallops as well, so why am I paying for this dish at Asiate? What's the extra I can't get at home? It's missing at Asiate.
The main courses - 1) Tofu with a burnt eggplant paste eaten by my date. - the ash smell of the burnt eggplant taste was so overpowering it came over to my side of the table and interfered with my fish dish. It tasted like yeast or beef extract paste (think a filler mixed with Bovril).
2) The Halibut was slightly overcooked and was served in a cheesy garlic sauce. This dish was more diner than fine dining and i don't like diner food.
The desserts - the chocolate cakes are better at a Patisserie chain at Columbus Circle like the one next to Argo.
The only saving grace of the restaurant is the atmosphere. But my perception is the people who work here are not 100% passionate about the details and about the ingredients and about wowing customers with food.
It was a Special ocassion, our aniversary.
We had to wait more than 35 min to get the table. We had asked for a table with views and we got just the opposite. The food was only correct nothing special. This is NOT The better asían restaurant in NY, and the price is too much for this restaurant
Foods are not good
This was quite the dining experience. Every dish was presented as a work of art. Beautiful plating and divine tasting. Be prepared to open your wallet but for a special occasion, this is the place to go in NYC. Stunning views, impeccable service and food. It was my daughter’s birthday and they couldn’t have made it any more special. A night to remember.
Fantastic experience and perfect for a special occasion. The dining room is gorgeous with large windows overlooking Columbus Circle and Central Park. Makes an impact. Went there for my wife's birthday. Definitely not an inexpensive meal, but the prix fix was actually a pretty good value and the food was delicious. We both ordered fish (salmon & cod) and they were inventively prepared and perfectly cooked. Extensive wine list. Unlike many restaurants the deserts were at the same level as the main course. Service was fantastic, from the birthday desert they brought out to one of the server's offering to take photographs for us. Really no complaints and would definitely go back...just be prepared for a large bill.
Vraiment dommage...
Vue de folie... et superbe cuisine.
Top restaurant dans NY !!!
Everything was great food location service a real outstanding experience
Booked for my partners birthday and it was amazing wonderful service great wine menu and food was to truly brilliant. They even done a little birthday cake for my girlfriend. Thank you so much I will also be writing a nice review on trip advisor
Restaurant avec beaucoup de charme. Nous remercions le personnel de nous avoir trouvé une table près des fenêtres, ce qui a rendu notre passage inoubliable.
En revanche, nous avons été très déçus de la qualité des plats proposés.
Our server was MIA most of the evening. This was our 4th visit to Asiate over the years. 2 hits and 2 misses. This one was a miss and was so awful that there will not be a 5th. We both ordered Salmon for our main course which arrived cold and clearly not at all cooked and definitely not seasoned. The starters were good— hamachi for one of us and caviar for the other. Hard to go wrong with either choice. It has beautiful views from any table. Too bad the food and service were sadly lacking.
Wow .... Very friendly staff from start to end , was never rushed or felt rushed , food was fabulous and the view perfect . Shall return ....
The spectacular view complements the wonderful service and food. Portions are small so don’t come super hungry. It feels like a perfect spot for something celebratory.
I would highly recommend this for any special occasion. The lunch prix-fixe is a well kept secret and a true bargain.
Amazing view&service&taste ♡
Very good restaurant with nice Asian-influenced cuisine; a romantic location just above Columbus Circle with great views of Central Park.
The Asiate is a special place with a creative menu and spectacular views
I have lived in New York for decades andhave yet to find a restaurant I prefer. In fact, I would like to live at The Mandarin Oriental. It’s superb.
Excellent choice for an exceptional brunch on a Sunday with stunning views!
Great place exceptional service tasty food , although portions are very small. In recommend for special occasions
We enjoyed the complexity of the different dishes. The very nice view during sundown made the dinner complete.

Went for fixed menu brunch. Very good. Good wines by the glass
Excellent food, service and a view to die for. As good a restaurant as exists on the Upper West Side. Every morsel was perfect.
Perfect service, very good food, everyone smiles, the decor is a bit hotel-y but is is a hotel so no complaint here. And above all, the location and view are just amazing.
Food was very good and great options with something for everyone - we had trouble choosing and the meals did not disappoint.
Fantastic view but unfortunately low level service and food without any originality. Worth going once for the view but definitely not for food
One of the beat experience I had. No doubt, its mandarin oriental.
The venue is outstanding and additionally the restaurant benefits from its association with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The view of central park is a highlight of any dining experience here f you are lucky enough to secure a window table.
We celebrated my husbands 30th birthday here and he was amazed! Asiate was able to accommodate my request for a table with a view, which was one of the best views we've had yet! It was simply beautiful and added to the ambience. Food was delicious (very small portions but so good), you'll have tons of option to choose from the wine and champagne as well. Staff was very polite and made you feel special. Jazz music played throughout the night and created such a nice vibe. Would totally recommend for any special occasions and fine dining experiences.
Great place for a date. My girlfriend loved it. Nice view and service.
very good food and service and view!
good choice for celebrating anniversary
My fiancé came to visit NY for the first time and he loved the views and the food.
Asiate is a beautiful and modern restaurant. It was very romantic and the whole setup is quite nice. We went for the Sunday brunch and quite liked the food. The service was outstanding and very attentive and polite. Loved the place and will be back soon!
We had the brunch: the food was honestly terrible.
Great view, excellent cuisine, disappointing service. Pricy.
The service was impeccable absolutely nothing to say however the really mediocre dinner no seasoning of the products was its taste i think the restaurant only works because of that seen! In any case I will return more! At the time of the bill I left only $ 18 tip as I thought it deserved no more! One of the managers came to tell me that normally we leave at least 20% so it would have been about 50 dollars I told him that for the price there I would have had to eat much better than that and that if it would not be happy I will leave absolutely nothing because we do not forget that it is not an obligation we give if have not eaten well and as it was really not terrible at all, naturally.
Beautiful space with amazing views. Portions are small- so if you have a big appetite this is not for you.
Otherwise it's a lovely place!
