nice average asian with very friendly service; unfortunately nothing off-menu (more traditional special dishes)
The food is always good - we love the egg rolls and tried a new plate with tofu which was excellent. You can pretty much guarantee a excellent meal every single time. It was extremely cold out and it was definitely worth the trip for excellent food. The waiters are friendly, warm and on top of everything.
The service is always slow. The last two times I’ve been in there, the waiters have been slow to come to the table. And there weren’t a lot of customers in there.
This was my second visit and neither of us were voraciously hungry so we ordered two different appetizer assortments which duplicated some of the same items. Since it was a Friday in Lent we shared the meatless items and took the meat items home. Some of the items were Things wouldn’t have ordered on their own but EVERYTHING was excellent, that night and the next day. There was nothing I would want to exclude in the future, except I’m eager to try more of their offerings, including some very interesting mixed drink offerings.
Food was awesome! Super happy with all the amazing vegan options. The vegan spring rolls where crunchy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside and to go with it the dipping sauce paired perfectly. For my main course I got the spicy tofu vegan soup and that was phenomenal! The soup was fill with lots of veggies and huge noodles. The flavor was outstanding with enough kick to make my nose run by the time I finished. Overall dining experience 8.7/10
The people were great and some dishes were subtle while others were ordinary. I’m very excited to return and find the other hidden menu gems. Service and mood open and convivial. Comfort dining!
You can always count on a very warm welcoming staff, excellent food with a good variety of a menu. It is a venue that is on our list at a minimum once a month. Great food every time!
We enjoy the food and service every time - Natty is great.
I had the panang curry. It was so flavorful and delicious! They also had a 2 drinks for 1 special with the purchase of a dinner. It was a pleasant surprise!
I have ordered from here tons of times and it's always been great but when I took my friend to actually sit down in the restaurant for her birthday, the service wasn't too great. About halfway through our meal we were basically ignored and we had to ask twice to get our checks and they were incorrect. I'm not sure if that's a normal thing but it was embarrassing to have to wait for so long just to pay after I talked up the place so much.
Service was great. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious.
Another great experience at Asian Outpost.
Love the ambiance and large booths! Also, the food is amazing!
The only reason why service did not get 5 stars is that our food came out at different times. The waitress did make up for it by giving me a free drink and my boyfriend a free dessert. The sushi is fresh and delicious and my boyfriend's Mongolian Beef had the right amount of spice and tons of beef!
The food was okay at best. The egg roll seemed like it was from CostCo. The sushi was not great. They had a lot of different foods to choose from, jack of all trades but master of none. I would not go back.
The service was outstanding. This little south loop asian restaurant is a great find. We had sushi rolls and those were fast and fresh. Also had the pad Thai which was super tasty.
Food was good and we came at the right time because there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. Service was quick and place looked clean.
The service was great and the staff was friendly. Very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, we didn't like the food very much -- the two savory dishes we had were too sweet, almost goopy, and the first glasses of water we ordered smelled mildly of fish. We wanted to like the place, but the food really wasn't good.
Very yummy food. Good drinks. Asian with a little Hawaiian and Southern mixed in. Crab po boy was quite fun and tasty and pad see ew didn't disappoint - steamy and flavorful with bits of beef and shaved asparagus. Comfort food! Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was sort of eclectic and funky.
Loved the sushi,,fresh and reasonably priced.
This is a must once a month place for us. From egg rolls, to pork belly sliders, nutty noodle dish and fried chicken - caNnot go wrong - food is exceptional
Fun place. Unusual; Good food at reasonable prices and in reasonable quantities. Very enjoyable and laid back.
We won't be back. Bad experience. 5 white wines by glass but only 1 red wine - why? Appetizers ok nothing special. Edamame had so much salt -and I love salt - that we had to wipe off the salt. Both got fried rice entrees and both were soggy. Not good at all I ate two bites. Bummer
Great food but the shrimp was not deveined which was disgusting!!!
Good selection of various types of Asian dishes from Thai, to Japanese, to Chinese.
We had the evening free so we went to eat at one of our favorite locales. You can count on good food every single time. The restaurant was quite busy but we still did not wait very long. Very comfortable and very warm ambiance. Highly recommended
Really cool, interesting decor. Food was excellent especially the Miso soup and little cornbread muffins. The seaweed salad was very good, but a bit spicer than what I prefer, but it wouldn't stop me from ordering again. My friend ordered a vegetable noodle dish that she really liked. Interesting menu is comprised of dishs from several Asian countries: Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam and more.... No MSG and GF options. Can't wait to go back again and try other dishes.
We came to Asian Outpost to celebrate a great friends birthday. The decor is very eclectic, and the booths are nice and big. The service was great, the drinks were excellent and the bartender..she has skills! The food was wow, from the appetizer to the sushi including the fried chicken was delicious!
Warm atmosphere. Service was good - food good but unremarkable. Won't rush back but would return if opportunity presented itself.
A great value and good meal selections. Comfortable ambiance and easy for any occasion.
Large booths, warm decor. Truly good comfort food and drinks at a good price. I had the pork belly sliders, corn muffins and one of the sushi rolls. Finished with Limoncello cake which was decent but not remarkable.
I will definitely return and try more menu items. Mixed drinks were tasty too.
Really enjoyed the house fried rice, it was very flavorful! My husband ate my leftovers! I also tried my sister's order of the Vietnamese Pho and it was very tasty as well. Would definitely return.
The food was exquisite, and the presentation was spectacular! Our server answered all of our questions on the ingredients in the Poke and other food recommendations. The mixologist was also very accommodating in recommending and making special cocktails for our group. Our group will definitely return in the near future for another great dining experience.
very rude. cannot believe they are in a food business.
very rude service. slow. angry manners. disappointing. noodle dishes not recommended
The manager, Betty, was amazing! Warm, inviting, helpful, and super friendly! We got the Hawaii ribs and fried chicken, and the spring rolls and teaser sampler.....everything was outstanding!!!! I love this restaurant!!!!!!!
Bring back the chicken wing appetizer! That's the reason many of us go!!!
So good. Delicious food. Good service. Would go again.
Very good and consistent food and service every time I've been.
Great food for a great price!!
The pork belly slider in steamed bun appetizers were the highlight of our meal and made the meal great
