Asiago's Ratings and Reviews
We were here on Valentine's Day, had a 7:00 reservation, checked in at 6:45, finally got seated at 7:30, missed the first half of the basketball game that we were hoping to attend. The staff that was seating people had no idea what was going on and were totally confused.
It was Valentines Day, we had made the reservation weeks in advance because this is a restaurant we usually enjoy. The tables were so close together you couldn’t even walk between them. We literally introduced ourselves to the next table since we might as well have been seated at the same table. Tried to make the best of it, ordered a bottle of wine. When the waitress couldn’t up sell us to an expensive bottle, she said “oh, you want the cheap wine!” Should have left then and there. Food wasnt as great as we remembered - haven’t even bothered to eat the leftovers. Won’t be doing this again any time soon.
Tables are too close. Bought a Groupon to try the restaurant, made reservations right after buying the Groupon, then told after arrival, not able to use Groupon on Feb 14. Did not feel fair. Ended up sharing the meal because we thought we had bought the 2 Groupons.
There were 2 of us eating and had a 4:30pm reservation, which isn't a super busy time, and we waited an hour for our food. There were two tables of 2 also who arrived 30 minutes after us (at least 20 minutes after we ordered our food) one received there food before us and the other at the same time as us. While our food was taking unusually long our server didn't make any attempt to communicate this to us, more often then not she walked by without saying a word to us. The food was pretty good, we thought, but both ended up with upset stomachs not long after leaving. It was a terrible experience and we wouldn't go back or recommend to a friend.
Enjoyed the first time we went there months ago. Purchased a group on to use for Valentines Day but it was denied because it was a restaurant holiday. We were seated at a table squeezed against a wall with very limited personal space and definitely lacking in surface area for drinks, plates, and silverware on the table top. The food was average to below average.
Asiagos was a terrible decision. You must have to be drunk to enjoy this food. Unfortunately, we were not. Our raviolis were undercooked and the crab taste like toe jam disguised with excess salt. How can you screw up a perfect steak? Asiagos can, burn it to a friggin char and cover it with pepper.
The food was terrible. The service sucked.
When we got there they told us we had to be out in an hour because they were going to be very busy. Our waitress didn’t come back until 15 minutes after we got our food. Long enough to make us want to eat the food. We tried paying with a groupon, the only reason we went there in the first place. The waitress told us we could not, after we had ordered and ate. We payed $65 for a terrible experience. Hard pass on Asiagos.
This was our first time to Asiago's in down town Boise. I was happy that we made reservations the place was packed! I wondered if they overbooked because they put 2 two tops together to make a four top and we were squished between a very large, very LOUD group and another 4 top that was actually a table made to seat 4 ppl. We acclimated ourselves to the smallish table but basically had to yell to carry on a conversation. Once the large group left, we were able to finally hear each other. The general consensus on the food was just "okay" - I've had better Italian, the description on the menu and what we received was not quite what we were expecting. Our server was a sweetheart, however, she was extremely busy and unable to check on us very often. This was a birthday dinner, which was a question asked on the open table reservation site but it wasn't acknowledged. Not a big deal - but why ask?? The desserts were very good and I felt the prices were fair, I would like to check it out again but maybe when it's not so busy.
Sadly we had to leave before our dinner was served and to take it to go- a huge party came in early and the hostess had to move several tables around to accommodate them. Their reservation was at 6:30 and they were early- our reservation was at 6:15 and they were sat and served before us. I told our waitress who was incredibly wonderful and felt horrible that we did not get served, that we were going to a play at 8. There was nothing she could do to rush our food due to the large party. We paid a ton for our tickets and didn’t want to miss a moment of the play. We celebrate Valentines Day early to avoid the crowds... it was a real bummer! The salads and bread were delish and my dinner made a fantastic lunch on Monday😬 Just wasn’t the Valentin’s celebration I was hoping for.
Would not recommend. Asiagos would not honor a deal they had going with groupon that is called "ultimate date night". I even called in advance that same day to confirm the deal and was told it was good and they would take it. Not the case. Would not even look at the printed deal I had brought in.
We were seated immediately. My friend wears hearing aides and does better if he does not have surround sound noise. We asked if we could be seated next to the wall instead of the middle of the room. We were immediately accommodated. Our waitress was knowledgeable, helpful, but not hovering. We were both over the top happy with our food selections. It was a Saturday night and packed to the brim, so don't expect quiet intimacy. But it was still cozy and romantic, and just a lovely evening. It wasn't so loud we couldn't hear ourselves think, but it is a hopping place. We had just seen a movie, and we were able to discuss it without problems. I would go back in a heartbeat.
The food was pretty good, nothing to get excited about. Service was also okay, not the most professional or courteous. Atmosphere was very loud, hard to have a conversation. Table was extremely small. House wine was shockingly expensive. Bread was good! Ha!
This was the first time I have dined at Asiago’s. Our server was great and very attentive. I believe the server’s name was Chelsea. The restaurant was clean and very pleasant. The food was good but a little bland. Perhaps a bit more seasoning while cooking the food. The other wait staff and hosts were also very nice. I would dine at Asiago’s again for sure.
